Side note guys, emergency services have a responsibility to attend even if it is a prank call, respect to you guys for saying it was legit but they'd have attended anyway, which is why prank calling emergency services is dangerous

Bullshit. The AMOUNT of times I've heard the police tell people "there's no-one available to attend your burglary/van break-in/assault" etc is unreal. They palm you off with a crime reference number and if you write on Twitter you're gonna go down the station and fuck the Old Bill up they will suddenly find six of them to come in a van and arrest you 😕

Tbh prank callers are the worst. I feel like yes its a stupid reason for you to have to call an ambulance but equally he was a man in danger and was a genuine emergency and the. You have prankcallers literally wasting their time when their is another person who may be in a Life Threatening position. I do somewhat respect the fact hes now gone private with his health care as he dosen't want to waste their time again when got himself in a pickle.

I felt that pain in his voice
it saddens me slightly when medical professionals think it’s okay to be rude to a patient who did something silly. In my trauma rotation i’ve seen a cut off labia, i’ve seen more foreign objects in rectums than i needed to, i’ve seen anal gone so wrong the patients were literally stuck together. we’ve seen most of it and i’ve never said that someone is stupid, they already know they’ve done something silly, my job was simply to fix the injury
Hi there. I don't entirely disagree, but there is a definite disconnect between you the professional, and you the person. Yes, as a professional you face the issue that's been presented to you, manage it as effectively as you can and care for the person in your care. But as a human being, who may have had one of the most awful days on shift, and you're tired & stressed, just want to get home to have your dinner & sleep, you're going to feel the negativity pretty full on.
The scenarios you describe are self inflicted misadventure, but not many are going to be life & death. Moreover, even if they are, it sounds like you've worked in an A&E/trauma department, which is undoubtedly terrifying, but usually means you have a big team, senior support and access to emergency theatres, blood products & medications. It's not exactly the same as attending someone in the community who has deliberately plastered their head inside of something and might lose their airway if you don't act quickly. Imagine how scared the paramedics and firefighters must have been there - they could be watching a previously entirely healthy young person die if they don't piece together a plan pretty quickly. I'm not a firefighter or paramedic, but I don't think "head plastered in microwave" is seen on a regular basis, and not something many of them would have had experience with.
Moreover, it's going to take a pretty big amount of their time to actually sort it out. During that time, they may not be able to attend other emergencies, and could very well be one of the only crews for a 20 mile radius.
Ultimately, yeah, as a professional, you're going to do everything you can to help the person in trouble. Naturally. But when that situation has passed, and you've done your job, I empathise with anybody who says "that guy was really silly" and who is upset by it.
@@GMRay739 i absolutely see your point, and it’s terrifying when you have a patient that was healthy an hour previous, telling a parent we couldn’t possibly save their child. being called to a situation that is life or death on a helicopter, it’s all scary but SO rewarding. but my point was that people do silly things often.
I practice law now instead and some days that’s taxing too, and all i can do is give it my all

This was stupid and his behaviour needs to be assessed.
I get people being unimpressed and thinking they’ve wasted the emergency services times, as it was a very self inflicted and dumbass stunt to do. But for people to call for them to be charged and fined? like what is he meant to do in that situation just stay in the cement and die? If anything the backlash will just make people think that they can’t call emergency services for issues that are more serious than they may think in case they ‘waste their time’. Stupid tbh

It's like Jay said in his response video. He didnt waste emergency services time, because he was in need. And you can say it was self inflicted but so was that drunken fight you got in last week, so was your earing that got infected, so was that concussion you got when u went ice skating.

I always knew they were keen to get stuck in to a challenge.
I honestly don't understand the reason that they got the hate for calling emergency services.
At that time their only source of income was doing stunts, and the one time that a stunt went wrong, he actually NEEDED the emergency services.
He did not waste their time at all, they're literally here to save peoples lives, and they did exactly that, that day.
Every single accident comes from a moment of poor decisions, and this was a poor decision of course.

It's funny, I remember when they uploaded that video, I was already subscribed to TGF, but for some reason I was busy that day, and didn't get to watch the video straight away. I remember seeing the title, assuming it was clickbait, and making a mental note to watch it whenever I had the time
About a day or two later, I saw an article on the BBC website about a RUclipsr cementing his head in a microwave and thought to myself, wait, I swear that was the TGF video from a few days ago. I clicked the article, and I swear to God, I didn't have to read a word of the article, I could tell just from the picture that it was the TGF garage where they'd filmed loads of videos before - the rows of red bricks on the base of the mostly-cinder block wall were a dead giveaway

I don’t think it was a waste of emergency services’ time because that was an emergency. yes one that could have been avoided and it was pretty stupid, but jay could have died. it was a life or death situation, that’s an emergency. their job is to rescue people and save live and that’s what they did. wasting the emergency services’ time is done with prank calls because they have to go to each call just in case it is real, they’re not allowed to disregard it as a prank. that’s an actual waste of their time, not the microwave situation

This is fact. I also regularly see jay in the town Im from just walking about the streets. Once I was in this club. Jay and Romell was there, and jay had this massive tray of tequila with salt and lime on it. He ended up how to do a tequila slammer but after I saw some guy get knocked into jay and he wasted all the tequila.

Apparently, there was a fire during this incident which led to the death of a man. the fire was 4 blocks away and the team was understaffed due to this microwave stunt. Horrible consequences for views.
