Props to Mark Henry (and props to his intro music cause that’s cool too)
Mark Henry is the most versatile strength athlete that has ever existed in history. He was an elite Olympic weightlifter, elite powerlifter, and elite strongman. That’s 3 completely different strength sports that he dominated. There’s literally only one other person that even dominated 2 of these strength sports, the legendary Zydrunas Savickas. The clean and jerk and snatch are as completely different from the bench, deadlift and squat as possible. It’s like being able to be world champion at the 100 meter dash and also world champion marathon runner.
What I find incredible is that he just randomly decided that he wanted to compete in Arnold Strongman Classic in 2002 - his first and only pro strongman competition at that level - and ended up winning by a big margin. Probably the ultimate flex.
For sure, but Henry does have the highest combined total of squat, bench, deadlift, snatch, and clean and jerk ever which is a good claim to the strongest man in history
@@sethticer5108 I have never heard that specific stat before. If it's true, it's impressive, but I have a lot of questions. If it is the first, I haven't personally seen a comp combine powerlifts and Olympic lifts like that before. If it is the second, I would really have to question how they accumulated that and assessed it against others. Regardless, no one can take the records he has away from him. He just stands among many other giants of strength who probably have greater claims to the title of strongest ever.
@@patricknoll81 Those are taken from any single lift performed within an official powerlifting or weightlifting competition. I used to think they say “the worlds strongest man” just to say it but now I see
Mark Henry is the most versatile strength athlete that has ever existed in history.

Great Smile Mark
💯
Thank You for the great memories.
"No body else on the planet compares to the things that I've done."
Brian Shaw and Big Z enter the chat.
For sure, but Henry does have the highest combined total of squat, bench, deadlift, snatch, and clean and jerk ever which is a good claim to the strongest man in history
@@sethticer5108 I have never heard that specific stat before. If it's true, it's impressive, but I have a lot of questions.
Are you saying that he did all of those lifts in one comp, like a powerlifting total? Or that all of his lifetime PRs add up to be bigger than anyone else's combined PRs.
So any officially lifted bench, squat, deadlift, snatch and clean and jerk combined for a super total. The greatest strongman ever is definitely Zydrunas Savickas so I’m not disputing that, but to be so strong at all those lifts is very rare
@@sethticer5108 Yeah, it is impressive indeed. I think it probably ranks him very high on a list for static strength and/or gym strength considerations.
Such a humble guy! Mark is great!
Cena is incredibly strong for his size, but Mark Henry is in a league all of his own... the man can twist table cutlery like they're pieces of paper
Mark might be the strongest natural human being of all time. Dude was over 300 lbs at 16.
I doubt the strongest, top 10, maybe. The problem is that Henry is a generalist in strength. No specialization such as powerlifting, Olympic, strongman, etc. Brian Shaw and Big Z are the two strongest men in history.
@@kennybadger prolly both full of roids though. Mark was always a monster even at a young age and never been linked to roids. And was tested plenty.
@@joeperry2065 So Mark Henry was lifting almost the same as those dudes while his weight was the same as those dudes but he somehow was natty? Man I love some of y'all delusion lol
Mark Henry was juiced to the gills just as the other two. The only difference is the other two were stronger than Henry.
@@skyh2394 he start juicing at 8 years old then ? Dude was ajways huge . Theres no obvious transformation with him like there is with guys like Eddie Hall or other strongmen.
He's the only man in history to be elite in literally every strength sport; weightlifting, powerlifting, and strongman. Truly hard to comprehend how impressive that is
Mark Henry competed in a celebrity dunk contest, pretty insane watching a man that big dunk
Mark Henry literally WON a Worlds Strongest Man contest... I don't think people understand that it isn't just a gimmick... It was a fact.
Nope. He never won a WSM.
He won the first ever Arnold Strongman Classic, he never entered a WSM competition.
@@Ak-de5yvand you troll just to cope with the truth
@explodev2550 dude. Look it up. He never competed in WSM. He won an Arnold classic and was an elite natural powerlifter. The truth might seem like trolling to the ignorant.
@@Ak-de5yv Facts. He never placed in a worlds strongest man competition. He won the Arnolds strongman classic the first year and Zydrunas Savickus won it 6 years in a row before he had that streak broken.
Henry was most well known as a "tested" strongman athlete. He doesn't own any single lift records but did own the WDFPF (World Drug-Free Powerlifting Federation) records for squat and deadlift for years.
He was also the heaviest person to slam on a 10 ft goal. What a freak of nature.
I felt disrespected for Mark Henry. I mean he’s held the world strongest man moniker for his whole career and for the ENTIRE duration of it nobody came close to taking it from him. And still to this day nobody can take that name from him.
That man twisted the fork like a paper ☠️
There's a big difference between picking up 500lbs of balanced weight and 500lbs of meat that's working with you. It takes strength and skill for both.
Gave him the business PAUSE ON THAT 😂😂
Yep, worlds strongest man wasn’t just a gimmick. Mark has won many strongman competitions and was actually the strongest human in the world at one point.
Mark Henry was on the US Olympic weightlifting team. That alone is impressive.
In terms of pure strength the answer is definitely Mark Henry, but if your talking about pound for pound strength John Cena is definitely in the conversation.
That wasnt the question though you absolute clown
For sure, also Cena could do more in the ring with the strength he had. Henry is for sure stronger, but if you cant use it in meaningful ways it goes unnoticed.
PEDs
I can’t stand how the interviewer over did the question to make it seem as if Big show specifically said “Not mark henry”
BIG E is a super strong guy. He needs to be in that converstion.
Nothing against Big E, but when it comes to this I don’t think anyone in wwe compares to mark Henry lol
Mark was incredibly athletic too. He was 6’3 400 lbs and dunking a basketball. The amount of force to get that much mass off the floor is insane
Bro he says John Lifts him so Smoothly
Not the strongest man
Oviously Henry is the world's strongest man ever lived in WWE or Other
No doubt
My question to Big Show was “who is the strongest wrestler” not who is the smoothest. His answer was John Cena.
@@CVVCLIPSbig show wanted to lift you, and you wanted the big show to lift you, you little manlet 🤣🤣
Cena never overhead pressed anyone the size of vader when mark did
I love Henry, but he couldnt even open that cage 😂
Wow 🤦🏼😂😂what a comment
That Has Nothing To Do With The Video.
Mark Henry had Vader, a 400lb man above his head. Military press that no one else could replicate.
He said no one compares but how about worlds strongest man Eddie the beast hall?
Eddie Hall can't pick up the inch dumbbell
Mark Henry is the only person in the past hundred years to pick it up the way he did.
@@BrownRecluse1738Okay, but has he ever won the world's strongest man? Or is he just living off of the one lift?
@@jackhughes7637 Mark has a ton of different accolades. The guy was a legend in strongmen competitions before WWE
@@agentcodybanx8909 Didn't answer my first question.
@@jackhughes7637 yeah lol he won the world’s strongest man,
He was so strong that the video game makers could not properly render his muscle distribution to his height.
Big Show explained it. He said when guys like Cena or John pick you up, it’s effortless. He said he felt completely safe and that there was no chance John would ever drop him or twist him weird. It’s a different kind of strength. Obviously Mark Henry can lift more than John.
I remember the episode on raw when Mark Henry was pulling they semi truck
What a stupid interview.
He listed Brock Lesnar, John Cena and Goldberg and told him to mention the strongest AMONG THESE THREE.
Mark Henry was not in the list.
I remember that interview and I immediately turned into Kevin Hart, "Whoa, whoa. Wait a minute"
Mark henry is literally a gigantic gift sent from god
Big Show is a company man.
Fun fact, Mark Henry actually handed Mjölnir to Thor back in his younger days. 😉
The man Busted open a Master Lock AND a few chain links bare handed
They don't want to give Mark his respect and credit they rather give it to a staged superhero character. Shout out to Mark Henry give him his flowers.
Mark looks super healthy and happy and that makes me happy
Mark Henry being called the Silverback wasn't just a gimmick.
He's actually descendant from King Kong.
He should’ve said “show had better be careful before he gets another introduction into the hall of pain “
While he was the world's strongest at one point to say "there's nobody in the world that can compete with the things I've done" is a bold faced lie and he knows it😂
"No seriously though" - Mark Henry
Mas has a legitimate reason to be upset about a remark like that😂
Tbf he asked specifically “in the ring”.
It was less about who was able to lift the most and who Paul felt the most stable and safest with the most control when they were lifting him.
That’s when he said Cena.
What a damn flex tbh… “There’s no one on the planet that compares to the things I’ve done.”
I remember commenting on the original clip saying Mark Henry all day long. Multiple world records. Super human strength
He broke world records, lift the unliftable dumbell, bend a pan, broke a legit chain (it wasn’t worked like normally)
Brian Shaw is somewhere saying hold my beer!
Henry is known for being a humble nice guy. For him to get lowkey offended means that Big Show was talking crazy.
That ain't what he said to Show. When Mark saw him after he made that comment, he told him, "Somebody's gone get they ass kicked. Somebody's gone get they wig split....."
Mark Henry was always his owner!
Bro rolled a quarter, bent frying pans, pulled like 2 semi trucks and lifted a limo up from the back and competed in many strong men competitions it's safe to say he's the strongest man ever on record
Show is a company man, He knew what he had to say
have guys heard the Undertaker interview where he told the story that they were once travelling on bus and there was a car on the road blocking the way and Mark got so mad he got out of bus and moved the car on side all by himself
The interviewer reminds me of Tony Hinchcliffe
If we're talking pure strength, it's Mark Henry, but if it's pound for pound, John Cena.
