I’m sorry but $1,000 dollars is not enough to help someone pay for rent in California. Cost of a 1 bedroom to rent here is $1,600-$2,200 a month. Yeah it will help those who have jobs already but what about those that don’t have jobs and struggle to find work do to multiple reasons people may have. I do like the idea of it but I don’t think it’s going to be that much of an impact on the homeless community. California is driving low & middle class income families out so they can bring in all the well off and Rich families. Not that this is really going to happen but I don’t think it’s enough to make a difference in America.
I hear you! Some proposals for UBI suggest higher amounts, like $2,400 a month, to better cover living expenses. The exact amount would depend on the goals of the program and what’s feasible for the economy. It’s an ongoing debate, and figuring out the right balance is key. What do you think would be the ideal amount for a UBI?
You are absolutely INCORRECT about that. To actual poor people even $500 per month would be extremely helpful. It is not meant to pay all of your bills. Its purpose is to give people something to work with no matter what. It comes down to which proposal is more likely to pass and be agreed upon by all sides. Starting with $2,400/month is INSANELY expensive and no sane politician is going to back that. Now, starting with say $500 per month is a MUCH smarter and safer way to do it.
Like in 'Office Space', I would do nothing. I would sit on my ass all day. I am all for it, and will silently thank those that continue to work to fund my ass sitting routine. I can't be the only one thinking it. But for reals, I doubt we would prosper as a country after this. You need an incentive more powerful than 'rest of your life full-time vacation', to make folks return to work. Especially for those dirty jobs out there that pay dirt-cheap wages. Good luck filling those positions after this. I foresee a mass exodus of people moving to tropical paradises, thriving on warm climates/beaches, spending their UBI checks on excellent food and booze. We're talking about straight cash exchanges that can be spent on anything. Dangerous.
It’s definitely understandable to feel skeptical about big ideas like UBI, especially when considering the challenges in our world. While there are real obstacles, some believe that change is possible with enough collective will and effort. It might take time, but discussing and exploring these ideas is the first step toward any kind of progress. What do you think would need to change for something like UBI to become a reality?
It's understandable to feel that way, especially with so much uncertainty in the world. Exploring different ideas can be overwhelming, but it’s all about finding what resonates with you.
I have always been for UBI but man, your AI pictures in the video are really cringe. No need for that dramatic "shocked face" nonsense. Be real and make it professional.
Thanks for the feedback! I appreciate your support for UBI and totally get where you're coming from about the visuals. It’s important to keep things authentic and professional, especially with topics like this.

Off a $1,000 a month. Let’s be real here.
@@ChadRyan805 I don’t know, I don’t have any debt currently. I know I could do it.
How can I sign up for the program
More drug addiction on the streets for sure.
It will never happen. The world is too greedy & evil.
