I Used Be Crazy About ShaRock in School ,Growing up In The Bronx, I Miss This, Now I Tell My Kid's About My Childhood and Sharock....
My generation grew up on this, in the Bronx, where Rap started.
The direct sonic inspiration for the Beastie Boys' "Shake Your Rump", and of course, Positive K's glorious "I Got a Man"---kudos on the legacy, and this original groove holds up wonderfully as well---love these basslines...
castaway980 what's ya man gotta do with me?

Classic Old School Rap/Hip Hop!!!. Funky 4 + 1 Group is Legendary!!!. Positive K is Legendary when he came out with his version "I Got A Man".. Definitely a Throwback here!!.
This music is just so funky and fun... Hip hop back at this time was so harmless and joyful and was all about providing a good time for the listeners but now it is so self-centered and egotistical.. I wish hiphop could let go of its ego and get back to just making this type of funk..

That's..tru.hip.hopclassic
It’s a dream ❤
I love original and proto hip hop, when it had rythm vision and feel ♡
To me this is one of 5 greatest hip hop songs ever
One of the most unappreciated groups in the history of hip hop
SHA ROCK WAS THE JOINT, PRETTY SISTA😎💑
Absolutely! She is a TRUE MC!
"The Get Down" brings me here :D
Ouss Shaolin Fantastic
neoeljin. Hey...me too
ruclips.net/video/eJKpqRu7flg/видео.html Try this link. I uploaded the full version of this song its about 9mins 20seconds the breakdown should be in there somewhere.
Me too!! ;)
Me too.
Thanks for uploading this song, I havent heard this jam in YEARS, brought back so many good memories! This is a great change from the norm that all the MC's had dope skillz and it was just about the party! No drugs, no guns, no jewelry, no bullshit period! You had to be a true MC back then to stand out and all of them did it!
Still sounds fresh, and always will.
If you don't move whenever you hear this, there's NO hope for you! :)
North Carolina's finest and hip hops first female M.C.Sha Roc
Pure hip hop, you can feel the party vibe and relaxed feel, completely innocent, I feel, smh
D Myrthil and no cuss too

OH MY GOD HIP HOP FLASH BACK, THIS IS STILL THE JOINT. IF THIS DON'T MAKE YOU MOVE, SOMETHING IS WRONG. THIS IS A STRAIGHT UP OLD SKOOL CLASSIC 💃😎
Love the funky four crew......
She's tha joint!
goin to lehman high school wit kev & j was a blast.. but then they was just kool..lil rod was always up there too, cuttin from his school...lol...i can say i knew them when....
Kevin Smith was in my music class and gym class at lehman. I did not know him but he would nod his head hello to me. He was a nice guy
Although dated by today's standard, it is still a classic.
It's much better than all of that today's gangsta bullshit
Dated ? The stuff they produce today is whack This is the beginning without these pioneers there would be no today .True legends 🙌🏾
Still sounds good.
Many years searchin this song. Thank U bro. Respects
this old school hip hop damn great!!!!
Hip Hop to me will always be the groups rhyming off each other and rocking the crowd. Had a great vibe. Solo rappers messed up the party aspect.
Love the funky four plus one more, still fresh in 22 for sure!!
Real Hip Hop - Never change.
Du bon rapp comme j’aime 😍!
This is the crew that jump started the term fresh for all things good because they would end their shows by saying, we'll be back again with new jams fresh out the pack!
Always a classic, puts a dip in my hip and glide in my stride! :D
Love these guys!!
Ninja from The Go Team has a resemblance of Sha Rock's flow, a good MC to get your inspiration from!
Checking in from Winning Time!
love it old school hip hop nothing like it
I still get hype to this song.. that beat is timeless!! 💋
Snowfall season 2 episode 1 brought me here! Even though I know this song from years ago it was just refreshing hearing it again!

They tell the story of going to the Funky Four +1 love show in 1981 and getting blown away
Sampled on so many tracks . Great record.
+Thebestitcanget SOund like they too are "sampling" here, i.e. using beats from other songs
Naughty By Nature is the personal favorite. Uptown Anthem brings back mad memories from my childhood.
I only knew of "I got a man" until hearing this. This sounds way better
Rescue Me by Taste of Honey is the original song

i the great fonkazoid, have always deemed the verse " i was sitting my house watching my tv, when all of a sudden it dawned on me .. ... ... as being in the top ten of greatest rap rhetoric of all time! the fonkazoid has spoken!
Thanks Beastie Boys Book!
So many later artist benefited in big ways thanks to the creative beats and melodies of these early artists many of which didn't get their due respect.
I'm watching this from all the way in the United States Virgin Islands ! ! !
Holy shit I thought this was that song "I gotta a man". Damn this shit go hard as FUCK!
One of the most used samples in hip hop.
Nice! I didn't know much about them in the early 80s...I was more...Roxanne Shante then. LOL
The transition from funk to the first raps :-)

Respect from Campinas Brasil
Fresh Soundtrack
Ohhhh shii. So naughty by nature Actaully got that one lil small part to make uptown anthem
Obviously this song is old but seeing people still interact with it until now that means they didn't find better than this.

Dope is dope!!! Shake your rump!!!

1 wasn't ready for this...
Positive K sample.
Originally from A Taste Of Honey song “Rescue Me”
@@The1baddman I know but I was saying it was his sample maybe after got it cleared if they did but directly so he could care less on copyright from them .plus they can't get him because of it. He knew what he was doing. So if they said he copied he can say so did they. That to me is smart. But knowing him he probably bought their sample. I know it The ,"Rescue Me " sample. It's just weird that their rap track came out the same Year the song. 🤔.
Throwback
Hate to sound cliche but this is real hip hop not this candy rain they call hip hop today! Few real mcs holding it down today!! Much love to hip hop before whack like nicki minaj!!
