Expert build and that level of quality disappeared in the uk 40 years ago. No one wants to pay for quality when inexpensive poor quality equipment is freely available. Respect.
Im currently half way through building a heavy duty one myself and been CONSTANTLY coming back to this DIY video for help. Thanks again for the awesome video!!!
Great job, I was going back and forth on whether to make or buy… you’ve proven it’s completely possible with out a great deal of equipment to produce a quality unit.
You really did a great job. That looks better than the one I bought from the store. You have better lighting and a better window. I love how you put the gasket on the doors.
What a fantastic job! The amount of detail you showed is excellent. It's the kind of video a hobbiest can try building themselves. The only thing missing are the blueprint plans which you could sell I imagine if a link was available. Will be checking out your other videos seeing the metal bender has one to watch....thanks.
Mate, i think you have a FULL right to call your design and build "proffessional"! It was a pleasure to watch your video. I have to think about blasting cab like this. Thanks!
This is an amazing project. Quick tip: You should put a (small) piece of rubber mat under the the worpiece / workarea.... Otherwise your sheetmetal mesh will wear out very quickly. Other than that, the thing is working great. Even tough, i would not paint it red.. ;) Well done... Greets from Germany
This is very similar to the cabinet we used to use for cleaning parts from Mauser 27mm gun parts, was also very much used as a side line for cleaning alloy wheels. Good DIY cabinet, keep up the good work.
Questo progetto è qualcosa di veramente fantastico, realizzato in maniera eccellente in ogni dettaglio. Solo con l'esperienza e con i giusti attrezzi si possono giungere a tali risultati. La sabbiatura è a dir poco eccellente. Complimenti!!! Un saluto dall'Italia!!!
Well done iron man sand blasting result is awesome. The sand blasting result look like silver colour and i cant see this type of home made sand blasting cabinet in other restoration channel you did a great job professionally & also using professional tools. 👍
THIS IS AWESOME! Some sandblast cabinet manufactures explain why you shouldn't build your own cabinet as the quality is inferior. HA - SEND THEM THIS VIDEO - NO ONE builds them like this - NICE WORK BROTHER!
I'm definitely gonna have to build one my self now. I've got several items that need sandblasting but can't find anywhere to have it done at a reasonable price.
One of the most impressive DIY builds I've ever watched. It sure would have been nice though if you would have sourced some of those parts that you used for those wanting to make something out of other materials, While I have a welder and electrodes, I'm nowhere proficient enough and little time to learn, I'm a Cabinetmaker, so I can do plywood one without too much trouble but would love to know where to get some of the fittings like the return mounted on the bottom, don't know what it's called so I wouldn't know what to look for, same with the grommets for around the glove openings, Those type things are what I need to find.
truly a nice job, unless you need a bigger unit, there is commercial units that are from a very similar design, I've used such a unit that I modified to suit my application, in fact, I've designed and built a bead injector very similar to the one you use and I fabricated an enclosed light unit that I installed inside the cabinet, the major difference is that I've cancelled the air shut off valve on the blast gun and I've installed a foot operated valve outside the cabinet because the experience showed me that beads blocked the air shut off valve in open position.
i also made my own sand blasting cabinet. I found a stainless steel under table with the perfect funnel, so all i needed to do is built the cabinet on top. What i don't see in this video is a filter screen in the funnel ( a fine mazed mosquito net), and i made that in mine, so that bigger chunks of debris will be filtered out and won't block the hose that sucks up the glass beads.
Awesome work. Material count probably coulda bought 3 or 4 from harbor freight but by tike this one needs replacing ud probably go thru all 4 harbor freight ones and some. Subbed for thr great diy content
The first fab video I've seen where someone still has the guard on the grinder =) Thanks for the build! Buying a large cabinet gets expensive, inspired to draw and fab my own to my requirements for my shop now. And doing all this with a stick welder, nice one mate!
Damn dude Great craftsmenship, I would gladly buy your sandblaster, over one of those cheap and expensive turds in a store. Great video ! Your very talented.
Very nice video. I do not have a sandblaster cabinet nor have I used them. Does not the glass beads get contaminated with potentially larger rust flakes and without some sort of separator/filter does that not give trouble?
That's a terrific job on the sandblasting cabinet mate - well done and thanks for sharing. Your actual sandblaster / compressor seems very underpowered though, watching the speed of the sandblasting was painful, it was very slow and narrowly focused. Upgrade the compressor / sandblasting gun.
Built like a tank, can't buy this kind of quality in a store. Great job.
Thanks a lot

After the metal parts have been sandblasted , can the sand be reused or is sand added to the system again ?
Sand recycling
The first fab video I've seen where someone still has the guard on the grinder =)
Thanks for the build! Buying a large cabinet gets expensive, inspired to draw and fab my own to my requirements for my shop now.
And doing all this with a stick welder, nice one mate!
Cut myself with a grinder enough times to keep the guard on at all times now.
If I can't reach with a guard on = I'm using the wrong tool.
Fantastic work

You could use a brass wood window lock for the hopper dump door.
