THE VIRGIN TONGUES backstory: In 2006, Duncan McKnight and Nima Ashe decided to move from Los Angeles, California to Berlin, Germany. There they met Robert Michael Giddens and began playing shows under the name Duncan McKnight band, building a decent fanbase and working with a psychedelic rock label in Berlin called Trip in Time records. The trio later decided on the name The Virgin Tongues and kept playing shows, eventually opening for The Kills in Berlin. Then, on May 1st, 2009 while on tour to Reykjavik Iceland (and to record their debut album with Singapore Sling frontman Henrik Bjornsson), McKnight fell from a window in downtown Reykjavik, suffering serious injuries and spent 9 months in hospital learning how to walk and talk. Despite valiant efforts, The Virgin Tongues did not play together again, and only a few recordings remain from those days. The past quickly becomes a distant dream, but the music remains alive forever.
I love this version more than the original! I also kinda knew Duncan, he stayed with my best friend at that time in 2016 I think. But we never managed to see each other, only talking via Facebook. Back then I wanted to get guitar lessons from him. A very gifted and talented man!
I love this song. But, since I found this. I love the raw emotion and power of this version. Which I think is the demo tape, and it feels like pure magic.
Lyrics: There´s no place to go in this town And you don´t answer the phone I still want to drown All these feelings you left Cause I´m six feet underground All these feelings you left Cause I´m six feet underground. And I still can´t be found In my hotel by the beach She´s so out of reach So many things to do Things to do before we die So many things to do Things to do before we die.
Are these recordings buyable anywhere? Best wishes to all the band members, shame the band came to an end. Listened to the original tracks on Spotify until they were gone also. Btw this uploaded version of the song is the best !

Lyrics:
There´s no place to go in this town
And you don´t answer the phone
I still want to drown
All these feelings you left
Cause I´m six feet underground
All these feelings you left
Cause I´m six feet underground.
And I still can´t be found
In my hotel by the beach
She´s so out of reach
So many things to do
Things to do before we die
So many things to do
Things to do before we die.
good ...
Make me cry, but i love this song
Perfection.
