Honda CB300F First Ride Review - Now 50,000 cheaper and VFM?

- Honda 2Wheelers India has launched the CB300F in our market to compete in the 300cc roadster segment. This motorcycle is available in two variants - Deluxe and Deluxe Pro - and the differences are limited to the Bluetooth module. All other specifications and features are identical on both variants.
The styling cues are inspired by the Honda CB500F roadster and it gets aggressive bodywork and sharp creases all over. The design elements comprise a single-pod headlight, muscular fuel tank, split-style seats, and a side-slung exhaust. Then, the feature list includes full-LED lighting, digital instrument cluster, traction control system, and dual-channel ABS. The Bluetooth module, which is only available on the Deluxe Pro variant, brings features such as call alerts, music controls, and voice navigation.
The mechanical specifications include a BS6-compliant 293cc, oil-cooled, four-valve, SOHC engine that develops 23.8bhp and 25.6Nm of peak torque. The motor is linked to a six-speed gearbox and it benefits from a slipper and assist clutch mechanism.
The suspension setup includes upside-down front forks and a preload-adjustable rear mono-shock while the braking hardware comprises a 276mm front disc and a 220mm rear disc - both grabbed by Nissin-sourced calipers.
Both variants are available in three colours - Sports Red, Mat Marvel Blue Metallic, and Mat Axis Grey Metallic. The Honda CB300F rivals the likes of the Suzuki Gixxer 250 and the KTM 250 Duke in the Indian market.

OMG This 300cc bike weighs just 153kg which is same as that of 150cc unicorn.Incredible power to weight ratio.

@@shadow_realm47 Dude BS3 era was the best. My 2012 200NS costed Rs 96,000 on road and it weighs only 145kg. Top speed is over 145 km/hr. 2012 Duke 200 had 135kg weight.

@deepak In uttarakhand it is around 2.03 lakhs on road. Road tax is comparatively less here. It would be around 2.1 lakhs to 2.2 lakhs on road in other states.

In Bangalore now it costs 2.24 lakhs on road after 60 K price reduction. It’s now good value for money and can consider if okay with low top end compared to duke 250 and top end vibes.

@@nikhilsuryawanshi6301 he is not speaking without exp. Watch around 12min he will be easily moving the bike from 17kph in 4th gear. I am not saying there are no engine knocking. But at that speed and that high gear other bikes will stall like crazy. Most of them even in half clutch. Also, in most recent bikes the clutch feel is rubbish. The honda commuters have better biting points than 200-350cc other brand bikes. There is a reason why there are so many unicorns on the road. And many people have re-purchased unicorn after 8-10yrs of riding. #just_honda_things
Is there any heating issues on long run ? and is it irritates by the vibrations felt after 5500rpm ? And does it give mileage more than 35 km/l ?

I am confused between the domi 250 domi 400 duke 250 duke 390 for daily driving and highway ride. Getting used one around 1.4 to 1.8L so price is not an issue.

The unfortunate part is the Big Wing dealerships which are not available everywhere. Nobody (mechanics) will touch this motorcycle except oil change maybe. Great bike but will have negligible sales in comparison to rivals (even with half the cc size.. LoL)

Honda should have given cb300r engine in this bike and if they wanted they could have priced it 10 20k more... as of now it is playing in range where every bike has 30 bhp and therefore are more powerful than this bike's 23 bhp...even pulsar 250 has 24 bhp and are priced 1.5 lakh...

Gixxer have superior engine performance and refinement, but 300F has better and wider seats for long ride and clutch is extremely light too

@@Moha123914 book a test ride yourself...from what i experienced from my test drive suzuki is way more refined and overall performance (which matter me the most)...other than that honda has better seat space,clutch is lighter, slightly slicker gear shifting(both bikes have 6 gears), braking confidence is kinda similar for both

Softer than FZ250 for sure..Test rode it same day...Less vibes than fz250

Reasons for not choosing CB:
1. Engine felt strained and like we are pushing against its will. Didn't like the exhaust note or the overall ride feel/ connectedness.(Personal opinion). But acceleration is great for the price!, Better than N250.
2. Issue with footpegs for me as I felt it small and my ankle was hitting the frame
3. Poor headlight performance
4. Uncertainty at that time if Honda will discontinue, spare parts etc.
Now since they have relaunched it at 1.7L x showroom, good value for money. I would recommend it.
I love N250, because personally I find its, engine smoothness, exhaust note, gear shift slickness, the analogue tacho(even thought its slow its ❤️), awesome lights, all these gives me a nice feeling when riding the bike hard. Even for small 5 mins rides, I enjoy the bike when I take it out.
But I did face some issues, like some rattling noise in suspension region, bike not turning on first try, but will turn on 2nd or 3rd try, some loose fuse (Happened 2 times in 6 month), engine produces clattery noise once heated, you notice only at slow speeds or if revving in neutral. Seat foam is soft, so butt ache after sometime. Lower set handlebar.
Planning to fix all issues in next service and add cushion to seat, and switch handlebar to P150 standard.
Overall I love the N250 inspite of these issues, for the ride feel, looks and joy it gives me!

better not to buy. The engine isn't that refine like a typical Honda, it has lot of vibrations. You can check the review video comments of this bike in "Technical SHT" channel

@@josephf3648 no man i cancelled it....actualy it is better than pulsar 250 in terms of technology, refinement and initial pick up...riding posture almost same but not like normal honda bikes refinement, vibrations are there, hard suspension and gear shift also bit hard may be due to test ride bike...some way i don't like it and not as i expected so cancelled. Test ride first then choose.

Maybe you'll feel the vstrom is more comfortable , fuel efficient nd vibrations are minimal nd can do 27-30kmph on 6th gear without stalling

Honda bikes engines are good but lookwise they are too commuter bike simple looks with basic features not appealing enough. Even a highness brilliant bike n engine but looks are pretty basic.

Except for the CB350 RS Honda bikes r mediocre at the best with the highest price tags. Pulsar F250 would be a much better VFM with nearly 1L difference in price
