    Nice . . . BREAKDOWN!
    I'm working on a Dr. Strange costume too. I'm planning on making it a hybrid of what I liked about the movie costume and the comic costume.

    What an amazing in depth video. I'm not doing a Dr Strange cosplay myself but I'm gonna be having a lot of different capes and a neck collar brace thing so you've answered alot of my questions of how to attach it with the harness and the magnets! Thank you so much. :)

    Also could I just ask: you say you can find behind the scenes info on more in depth costumes and fabrics etc, is there a particular site or source you use? I'm struggling with that part of my cosplays! Thank you!

    You've inspired me to take my Dr. Strange cosplay to the next level. Where did you get the wax chalk that you used for the checkerboard effect? Will it have a similar effect on all velvet or do you think it was just a happy accident with the fabric you were using?

    • @Jedimanda
      @Jedimanda  5 лет назад +1

      it should! Not completely sure though. I purchased it from Bansachs.com

    Hi Jedimanda! Would you mind sharing which embroidery software you use? I have been looking into software for making my own designs since Etsy can only get me so far. Thank you! PS I love your costumes and the attention to detail!

    I know it’s been a few years since you’ve completed your Doctor Strange costume. It’s amazing btw. I’m not sure if you’ll see this message TBH, but I shall go ahead and post incase you do. I’ve been following your RUclips video and am making the costume for my husband. I can’t make it exactly like you did but I am using the magnets to hold the cloak of levitation on his person. I failed to place the magnets inside the lining. My question is… how have you attached the magnets to the cloak and the shoulder strap/harness?

    • @Jedimanda
      @Jedimanda  3 года назад +1

      So basically I made a little topstitched pocket to add the magnets on the harness and cloak. I matched the "pocket" fabric to the cloak so it would blend and them I sewed the pocket up with the magnet inside. I handsewed them. Just a simple topstitched pocket thing with the magnets incased. I hope that helps!

      One other question; what setting did you press with the iron? Did you use steam or dry iron? A damp press cloth or a dry one, and how heavy of a press cloth? I’m rather pressing all the velvet flat ;-(

    • @Jedimanda
      @Jedimanda  5 лет назад

      Hey there. With the wax chalk, its not necessarily a press as much as it's a steam. Instead of pressing it, try holding the iron up over (not touching the fabric) and blast some steam onto the fabric. That should melt away the wax leaving the residue behind. Let me know if that works for you.

    How many yards a fabric for the checkered pattern for the lining of Doctor Strange cloak did you use

    • @Jedimanda
      @Jedimanda  2 года назад

      I believe maybe 4 yards? I'm not too sure.
