Aight I’m back, there is so much 😂
First, he put the pipe reed into the practice chanter, those actually have different reeds because the main pipe reed is way too strong. Second, he held it so wrong 😂😂 like I can’t even describe how bad that was.
Homeboy didn’t balance the drone reeds, so they wouldn’t play at the same time as the chanter reed. Sounds like one or two of his drone reeds is out, so the bag doesn’t hold enough air to get a high enough pressure to start the chanter reed? He also got the bass drone (the long one) on the wrong base (he fixes that eventually) but I think he still has the bass reed in one of the tenor drones.
You have to do something called “striking in” to get the drone sounding right, if you just bring up pressure slowly the drones often won’t “cut” into the right key. And then you gotta add pressure to start the chanter reed.
I think that’s all? Also it’s a garbage set of pipes, so they probably just flat out hardly work anyway. I have wasted too much time on this.

I love the person in chat who told Connor he sounded like a Wish German because that's the most accurate summation possible.
I remember watching the VOD for the full stream. Perhaps understandably, putting the bagpipe together felt like an eternity. That the Scottish have made it the national instrument is a testament to their cultural strength and sheer bloody force of will - if I ever found a new nation I'll be picking one of those springy door stops as it's national instrument. Easy to play, comes readymade :p

Probably gonna get lost in the sea of comments but as a bagpiper I feel I need to give anyone looking to start a bit of advice. So don't buy these cheap set of bagpipes. They won't work very well and by the time your ready to get a full set you're gonna want a better quality set. Save the money and buy a decent practice chanter. A good starting place is an extended length McCallum practice chanter it runs around 85 USD. Other solid brands are Walsh, Gibson, R.G. Hardie, ect. For all of these get an extended or regular unless you are a child or have small hands, I'd say go for extended since it's closer to the hand spacing on a full chanter

I have to say I am proud of Connor that he mentioned that these outfits were Bavarian and not German in general.
Over a month later and the sounds of your bagpipe mooing, I mean playing still haunts me
I learned the pipes for around 4 years, and even we couldn't play the bagpipes properly. Arguably tge hardest instrument to master in the marching band, while also matching our steps and gripping the bags with our fucking armpits.
When I was in primary school I briefly considered learning the bagpipes after a Scottish band visited our school and was like “come learn our instruments” and I love bagpipes. I am thankful now that I didn’t because I wouldn’t have had the patience. I have bigger respect to my uncle who plays now.

My advice on the bagpipe would have been 'Work the Shaft.'
At least we got the short version of the bagpipes. At least it was at the start of this video. Not somewhere in the middle or at the end. So some of us don’t have to relive the hour long of him trying to assemble the bagpipes. It was painful to watch live and it still painful to watch in the short version.

interpretative dramatic elements are great, the ad hoc environment terrific, the theme overall good. Perhaps a career with the Pittsburgh Film Office in Pennsylvania, or theatric arts at Waseda or Tokyo University. The crazy thing is this entire scene can be redone and edited. I can only hope you don't hurt yourself or anyone's feelings in the process!
