He was willing to once more risk the lives of others and his own to save Sam’s body. So dean is not even willing to let go of Sam’s body. He has to protect his vessel too. He did it when Sam became soulless, and when he was possessed by Lucifer. Dean just can’t see life without Sam. And when they reunite he knows that Lucifer brought back Sam so he could used that for survival while traveling with the pack , but Dean didn’t care. He was glad that Sam was alive and with him once more.
