Can we just take a minute to acknowledge how absolutely unbelievable Jensen’s acting skills are? To bring a character like Dean to life takes a special kind of charisma and strength especially when he is constantly being put through the ringer. This show is so underrated and so looked down upon despite it being one of the best shows ever created. Then on top of that the type of relationship the actors have built with the characters and what we as a family have built together❤️ this show actually means everything to me and I’m sad to see it go but what it built will never be forgotten🤧
Jensen is an amazing actor. He has made dean Winchester a real person. He has stolen our hearts. Jensen never gets the acknowledgement that he should for his portrayal of dean.
Hard to know we have to say goodbye to the boys at the end of season 15, it’s a fantastic show, awesome characters and I’ll admit Dean and what’s he’s given and given up and gone through breaks my heart so often. All the characters are great but I get Dean the most I think. I have mad respect for all the actors and the fans too because it’s not “just a show”, it’s so much more because of how much has gone into it. I’ve binge watched it often and probably always will

The way supernatural made Dean was golden, a character that carry's all this weight he helps others, and don't want help in return I guess that's why I love supernatural the way I can relate makes it great.
dean lost his mother at the tender age of four, his father trained him as a soldier, he had no childhood cause had to raise his bro, he was/is emotionally abused & manipulated by everyone around him & mostly by his ''bro'', died multiple times, went to hell, was tortured for 40 years, went through heaven, purgatory, became a demon, lost his mother again, has tons of ptsd, & depression & yet get's 0 support & tons of suck it & shut it speeches every time he is an emotional wreck & has every right/reason to be upset.

When you really look at how Dean has felt throughout the entire show and put it into perspective, you see something that's so damaged, so broken, so lonely, so tired...that it doesn't seem like something like that can even happen to a person. It's like how do you wake up in the morning, how do you breathe? This video hit me hard because it's like you can see yourself being in this situation even if you think you are the happiest person in the world you still feel that weight inside of you. It's like that one corner of a room that no matter how much light fills the space it's still darker than the rest. It makes you feel guilty about things you shouldn't have to feel guilty about and it sucks because the feeling never goes away. You forget about it but then you remember and everything hits you like a brick wall. The memories, the emotions all just hit you at once and it knocks you down so far that you don't even feel like you should try to get back up because you know it'll just happen again and again and again...

Dean is the better part of all of us. He refuses to give up weather he is right or wrong, his heart is at best. Supernatural is an outstanding show.

I get what your saying but I think this is the life dean wanted he tried the happy life and it just wasn’t for him I think his happy ending was dying young dying before his baby brother knowing that at least he was able to help so many people with the life he viewed as worthless and he was happy with that he was content with that

He got Cas to wipe their memories of him because he knew their safety was more important than his happiness
Dean's chance at happiness was taken from him. Cas drove the first nail in the door, Sam pounded the second, and Crowley drove it home! He only mentions their names once after but refers to that life with regret of losing it various times during the show. When he is telling Garth not to risk finding happiness because you will never forgive yourself!

Jesus, I've watched Supernatural since it's inception, and I've always praised both Jared and Jensen for their performances of Sam and Dean respectively, but this shows just how deep and personal Jensen is willing to go. After so many years and so many seasons(I forget how many seasons, if someone could mention that'd be great) I'm surprised Jensen hasn't been nominated for an award. Or maybe he has? Who knows?
All I know is from the get go, I knew Dean was going to be a fantastic character, as the actor who portrayed him.

Dean is one of the best characters on TV. The bonds of family, the weight of responsibility, the battle weariness... I love him, every complicated piece of him.

I hate that the supernatural writers thought to tell people with mental health problems (like dean) that you only get peace when you die. THEY NEVER SHOULD HAVE KILLED HIM. Dean deserved to find love in his life, he deserved to IDK open a bar, settle down and find his happiness on earth. If you are struggling just know that it is better to keep fighting.
I think how it ended was good. Dean died doing what he loved hunting with Sam and Sam was able to find peace have a family. I believe if they were both alive they would never find that peace
I completely agree with you. I read this Tumblr post about how peace can only be achieved through death is a very dangerous precedent to set - especially considering how many people idolize Dean.
Don't you understand peace is not possible without a complete overhaul of Dean's character. That's the whole problem. He is too afraid to let go of what he knows and risk the unknown, so essentially he is choosing to live in perpetual torment and while he recognizes its a problem he doesn't see the solution.
I agree with you instead of having Dean don't have the way he always said he would he would go out fighting they could have at least had him have the character development to I don't know finally realize that he deserve to be happy too but his life wasn't about saving people it was about living when the job was done he had a life of his own his life wasn't hunting it's just his job I partly wished Lisa got her momory back and they could finally be happy because I swear that is the closest we've ever seen him to settling down and just having a family

Dean has always been my favorite character. Maybe it's because I can relate to him so much. I have a love for vintage muscle cars and classic rock. But most importantly, no matter how much it tears me up inside, I internalize all my problems and close myself off from the people that I love. I put on a fake smile and have more regard for the people I care about than myself. Jensen, thank you for bringing this character to life and helping my reflect on myself.

When Sam and Dean talk about Sam being a disappointment to his dad I’ve always been waiting for Dean to say “Sam, Dad wasn’t disappointed in you he was disappointed in me.” I hope in season 15 that they talk about Dean’s abuse living with his father.
John was a disappointment to both. He was really just a piece of crap to his children and neglected them both treating them like soldier in his crusade for vengeance. But the show sometimes does weird thing singling only one brother. It's like when they always blame Sam for everything that happens while forgetting it when Dean does something wrong.
Dean Winchester is my favorite character of the show and the character I most relate to. He carries the weight of the world on his shoulders and takes care of his family the best way he can even though he is broken inside. He keeps everything bottled inside until he can't take it anymore and loses selfcontrol.
It’s funny. How your favorite character is just as broken as you are, and says the same things. How alike you two are. It really puts things in perspective. It makes you want to keep going for them. Because if they can you can too.
The reason I love this show so much and Dean especially is because as unbelievable as this show is set to be,I've never seen a character as real,raw and unfortunately relatable as Dean.

Usually I need fan videos to be set to music to really feal the emotions there, but not for this video. This has got to be one of the best compilations I have ever seen for SPN. It drives home exactly how screwed in the head Dean is better than any other fan video I've watched. This was beautiful. Bravo.
Wow... excellent ending to this video, which is overall an excellent character study of Dean's trauma. He has no sense of self because his entire existence was forged by the loss of his mother, the parentification of his father, and the terror of losing his brother, whom he was trained to protect and save. Well done!

I love Dean Winchester like crazy because like everybody said, he is so relatable.
The fact that he hates himself the most, the fact that he doesn't see the light out of this tunnel, the fact that he is goofy and saying he is okay when he is TOTALLY NOT OKAY.
The sole thing that maintains him afloat is Sam. Without him he loses sanity. And that's why I still can't forgive Sam. When Dean went to purgatory, this fella didn't rack his ass off like crazy to find a solution to bring back Dean. And instead, was living happily with his girl and dog.
Dean is tired of this life way before season 1. He lost his mother, had to be trained and had to protect his bro since young. He has to continue this life because he does not see a way out, sincerely he does not know anything else.

I think he is one of the best characters ever created! So complex and special! Jensen is truly an amazing actor and really deserved to win an award for playing this part!! I've always identified with Dean! I've delt with depression for a really long time! I always loved the show, but never really understood it as much and had as much of a connection with it until I lost 6 family members in 2020! It really helps me through dealing with all of that along with the depression I already suffered from! So thank you so much for this video!!

I've never felt such similarities to a fictional character before. Dean was/is/will always be this show
Yep I most definitely emphasize with his character so much… dean’s love for hai brother is what made the show.
When those beautiful emerald eyes start to water i lose it every time ! Dean is so messed up inside but somehow he carries on ! Jensen in emtional scenes nails it every time hes so fantastic ! LOVE U So Much ! X O XO

Dean Winchester is my hero.
The most badass Dean moment that never got the attention it deserved was the season 5 heaven episode. Dean wakes up to a barrel in his face. He doesn’t panic he never flinched. He looked at them square in the eye and said let’s get this show on the road. But when I get back I’m gonna be pissed. 💥
Sam and Dean are my heroes. They jump in and protect people, not because they have to, but because they want to. They're astonishing and so undermined.
Recently watched early Jensen roles. Give to this man a layered part that has both humour & tragedy he is outstanding. His earlier roles had no soul. Good acting but not enough to give flight to his acting prowess. Honesty Dean Winchester is one of the most complex charters ever written.
I have watched the first 7 seasons so far, and Dean is the one character from any movie or tv show that I just want to smother in love. It hurts to see someone so wonderful hate themselves so much...I’m crying lol

Yes it hurts like hell, but the way it was, the way it became changed me to a whole different level. I'll miss "team free will 2.0"
