The Digital Signage feature is still free and can be used by creating a Presentation-type group at Faithlife.com.
However, the comments on your video seem to be referring to the Proclaim platform. The Proclaim platform will make it easier to create these groups, however, you will need to create a subscription to use it.

That’s crazy 😂 I’ve been doing this for years! I was looking up digital signage for a church and found the digital signage app that proclaim has, then I just created an account and started using it. The trivia is a nice touch too. blew my mind that it was free! I like running a ticker at the bottom with a logo, a bible QR code and the weather.

This will not accomplish either of those things. No videos. And no tv power schedule that I’m aware of.

Love it. I've got a couple of fire sticks at the house I don't use anymore, so I'll definitely give this a try.
Quick follow up to this. We added this whole deal to our main lobby TV. Folks are really digging it, and it's super easy to set up and get going. I strongly encourage folks to consider doing this.

We're exploring this as an option for our campus, but before we purchase the equipment, I wanted to ask how you setup the Firestick side of things. In this video, you shared how to get the software on the computer and stuff, but how do you get the Firesticks to receive from Proclaim? I've never used Firesticks before so maybe I sound naive lol. Thanks!
It's just like a roku etc. You download the app from proclaim onto the firestick via the app search. I believe you can see the app name in the video on my tv. I think you search faithlife maybe. Then the app gives you a code and in proclaim website you pair your screen with your account. If i remember correctly :)

Really good stuff. You had me until "no vertical mode". Trying to find a solution for a church with 3 vertical tvs. Other than that and the videos not working well, looks like an incredible free solution.

We've found in the last few months that digital signage isn't starting up automatically and running when we turn on our TVs like it used to. We're having to go to the Firestick home screen and restart the app each week. It's not a huge deal but it was sure nice to be able to turn the TV on and have it work right away. Have you noticed this? Is it just our TVs or a setting that got changed? What are your thoughts?

Roku, works with Easy Show, but also Raspberry Pi's, Linux with QMPlay 2 looping Player, Kodi Media Center...as long as you convert/export the Digital signage as a Movie/Video File......OR export as a PDF and you can use Various PDF Presenters like Impressive! on Linux or Okular, or even as individual pictures and use a Nice Picture slideshow presenter like PhotQT on Linux, or Gwenview
Are you downloading a specific app on the fire stick or accessing it using the Amazon Silk internet browser? I just set this up at my church and accessed it using the Amazon silk internet browser. It works flawlessly but after about 15-20 mins, the browser goes to sleep. I’ve tried everything. Turning sleep timer off on TV, on the internet browser, turn off screensaver. No matter what I do, it keeps going black and I have to hit the remote again to wake it back up.

Are you saying that all the firestick remotes are unique and you have to have one for each stick? We only have one and didn't know that. However, our Samsung remote will control it. You have to really be pointing at the firestick for the Samsung remote to work, but it does. Little kids love to lose the firestick remote.
That's my experience with ours, I just labeled the remotes. If you HAVE the remote you can also use an app on your phone, but need the remote first to sync it I think.
Tried to do this (we are based in the UK) but the system is trying to charge us for proclaim (once the demo period is over) and the option to create some signage is not appearing in the group admin options
Not sure what to tell you. You don’t need to pay for it. Proclaim themselves told me that. Did you create your sign feeds during the trial? I have never had to pay a dime. Sorry you are having issues.

This is a great solution.... Thanks... but has Proclaim changed as we are now being asked to purchase proclaim. We currently use this for 2 TV's and $199 per year is a little out of budget when we had been using this for free.... Or is there a DS builder that faithlife has. We are not doing media or live church content it is more for a electronic announcement display. Thanks

I did this and now Faithlife is telling me my free trial is expiring and I will lose all my "customer" slides unless I pay. The templates (Bible quiz, Bible art... etc). I guess I will see what happens after the free trial... they don't have my cc# so worse case it will stop working
I got the same message a few days ago, but it's still running like normal. It did mention that a watermark would start popping up if I didn't subscribe, but I haven't paid anything and I haven't seen it yet.
Just upload videos to RUclips and on your TV play the RUclips Playlist
If that works for you go for it. I’d be worried about ads (YT premium ain’t free 😅). And then everything has to be a video that you’ve uploaded to RUclips. Much more tedious.

Have you ever had a problem with a black screen appearing on some of the slide shows on digital signage. It’s almost like there is a blank/black slide that is set to show for like 12 seconds. Scripture and trivia are turned off. I can’t figure it out.
Thank you for this awesome tip! We've set it up in both our buildings and have been using it to really help our communication. One drawback we've found is the firetv going back to the home screen after a certain amount of time, which just happens to be during our third service. Does anyone know if there is a way to disable the FireTV from going back to the homescreen? Or to even just change the time? I can't find much help on that (even from the mostly-knowing google).

The trial is for their proclaim presentation software. The digital signage is free. You are good.
Does this exist for outside of church use for other industries?
I don’t see why you couldn’t use this for other orgs. Checkout posterbooking though. It’s similar.

So proclaim isn’t really free. In order to have digital signage you have to pay for proclaim monthly or once a year
Hmmm I just updated my sign feed and it worked flawlessly. I've never paid a dime. Did you actually experience the opposite? No update without payment? I've sent an email to proclaim about it to get a final word.
From their support “Digital Signage itself is a free product to use, and we do not charge to use it with a fire tv stick”.

What i'm having trouble with, is that i created different feeds when it syncs it add the new item to the feed that was already loaded , as much as i try adding different names to the feeds it add them to the same, im missing something and i bet something very simple

Doesn't Firestick use SRT? If I had to guess, your problems with video probably have more to do with the machine that you are sending the video from than the Firestick. The secretary who has this running on her computer is going to need a fast machine, if she's going to send out multiple feeds to several locations. I would also think this would need its own network, so it doesn't interfere with more important stuff.

Our fire sticks go off occasionally and the app for the signage doesn’t open automatically. Do you have the same issue?

Apple TV’s or smart TVs with Ethernet would work great I assume.
@@RylandRussell Thanks, so I could possibly put the app on a smart TV? (That are all ROKU tvs). We were planning to use Apple TVs and an NDI app to use with ProPresenter, but this might be a better option.

I'm seeing the Proclaim on the site but it's showing $250 a year for the service or $25 mo on the annual plan. Am I missing the right link somewhere?
When I did it, there was a free trial and I just never put in my payment info and I’ve never needed to because I only use the digital signage portion.

Just for clarification, you have to have a paid Proclaim account in order to use the free app on the Firestick? To download the software onto the computer, you have to have a paid account, correct?
I have never had to pay anything and Faithlife confirmed this when I emailed them a few months back. So unless something has changed you only need to pay if you want to use the live presentation portion of Proclaim.

The frame is an option in the backend of the sign feed editor. Online. Just tick the boxes.

Is it really free? when I get to the proclaim page, there is a tab to download, but the main screen says "start your free trial" ? not tech savvy so I may not be doing it right :/
To use the full proclaim software it costs money. But the digital signage is free.

Yes
It is only free if you only use built-in slides and settings. If you DO NOT HAVE PROCLAIM, you must BUY it in order to make CUSTOM SLIDES. The video does not clarify this.
None of my slides I've ever used are built in slides. All of mine are added into the proclaim software and it is free. Did proclaim tell you this was a change?

Hmm I can and still use it. It’s a little confusing because yes Proclaim wants you to pay to use their full feature set. But you do NOT have to pay to use digital signage. I emailed them a couple weeks ago and they assure me it’s still free.

Not free.... that software gives you 2 weeks free then it's 24.99 month or 249.99 a year....
To use the software as a presentation software yes, to only use the digital signage it is free. Proclaim has CONFIRMED this with me and I have never paid a dime.

Proclaim never was free, but to do this you only need the trial and setup digits signage. I’ve never paid a dime. You can checkout posterbooking as well as another option.

Do you ever have trouble with a black screen popping up consistently for about 112 seconds as the slides are showing. It’s almost as if there is a blank slide in the show. Any body know how to fix this?

I'm sorry, but I found the video to be confusing and unclear. It would have been helpful if the title had specified that the content was only relevant to the church. I hope that future videos can be more thoughtfully constructed to ensure a better viewing experience.
