"Wasting my young years" is the universal anguish that ends first love: the realisation we're maturing at different speeds. In a parallel universe, with a suitable time-shift, we made it. But in this one, it is over and we feel the agony of loss (she sings).

Thanks for your comment, I left my first love initially to get some space but she broke up with me💔she was a year older and was maturin’ fast I was 21 she was 22 we’d lived together and the separation was heartbreakin’. Thanks for your comment, it helps me understand the song on a deeper level🎵👍
My first love used to say she was 'wasting her young years'. Just out of uni into a job she didn't like nor hate.. spending a lot of time looking at other people's lives on social media. I guess u was more content with our life together as it was shaping up than she was.
I hope she found a lifestyle that suits her better, wherever she is. Looking back those younger years with her sure don't feel like wasted
@@Huffy1001 Similar to me: I came back from a year away, and said: "Lets give if it a break until I get myself sorted" thinking we could/would get back once I did, but a few months later she said (more gently than this): "Don't try coming back". She was a year older. Could we have made it: yes. I was too immature to know we could have made it, regardless of my situation. She was wasting her young years.

For decades I'm into music. For centuries my family is playing and producing music. This appears to be a simple band, a simple sound but covers it all in a genious way: Feelings, Melody, Expression. Sorry guys.. even they might sound simple or boring to you: THIS IS PURE MUSICAL TALENT. Incredible combination between melody and a neck breaking voice... I am amazed like I've never been for the last ten years.

Hannah Reid of London Grammar has a voice that takes me back over 20 years to another incredible sounding band of the early 90's ; The Sundays and their lead vocalist Harriet Wheeler. What is worrying is that Hannah has the voice of an angel and Grammar have incredible songs yet this band have not been breaking massively in the UK. (Also like the Sundays when they came on the scene) For the love of real music people need to hear their tracks, otherwise auto tuned, pathetic crap from the likes of X-factor will be all kids these days listen to. Ask your local and national radio stations to play their songs on request shows every day before music in this country is just computerised voices and a face with absolutely no talent!!

That one song blows Adele's whole career right out of the water. Hannah has amazing depth for such a young voice, reminds me of early Kate Bush in some ways, and that is quite a compliment...
