    Thank you for this tutorial ma'am, it is detailed indeed but if I want to use this method for the skirt part of a pencil gown that has it's waist to hip measurements to be 10" and I will have to start my dart 2" upward from the hip, the dart length of only the skirt part will be 8" for the front bodice, will it still be right to do?

  • @level2456
    @level2456 2 года назад

    Thanks for the video. If you also have bodice pattern, can you join them directly and form a dress. Or will you need adjustments on the waist?

    Wow! Good job ma'am. Please I have a question, if I want to use this particular pattern for a gown with joining do I need to adjust anything especially at the waist of the skirt block? Thanks.

    • @EstySecret
      @EstySecret  4 года назад +1

      You will need to adjust the waist and include your band's height.

      After adding the band height, any need to manipulate the abdomen area?

    Very nice tutorial.... pls why did u go up by 3/4 at the side

    • @EstySecret
      @EstySecret  4 года назад +2

      The waist and abdomen is not on a straight line. The slight curve is to mimic the human body shape, so that the skirt will sit nicely on the body. Most people go down by 1/2" or so at the centre front, but I realized that it's more flattering for most female when the side is raised instead ( in my opinion).

    Thank you
    please apart from nipple to nipple measurement, is there anyway the waist dart can be determined ?

    • @juanitasews5782
      @juanitasews5782 4 года назад

      Hi, that would be the best way to make sure the placement of your darts would go. It's normally called apex to apex measurement, which is basically nipple to nipple. You can just guess if you want, but according to the industry standards that would be what you'd use. I've been sewing for over 45 years, I could be wrong, but I read a LOT about sewing and pattern drafting and I sew every day. But it's sewing so you can do whatever you wanted. Just my two cents.
