If you ever strip the threads on that pipe after the turbo, just use heli-coil stainless steel insert of the rite size for that bolt, cant remember now the size but it works amazing, dont need to replace all those parts. Very little torque is needed on those little fine thread bolts. 14+-0.5Nm(125+-4.5 in-lb)
Great video! Can you correct me if I’m wrong? I heard towards the end of the video that if I replace the 7th injector myself and don’t have a computer to reset. When I do the Regen it will reset itself?
I broke a bolt on this when tightening and didn’t replace the whole 7th injector exhaust. Got a local machine shop to extract broken bolt and rethread the strip threading. Got new bolts with some lock washers.
Hi I have 2015 D13 Volvo after change the 7 injector next day check engine light with code P24F700 and SPN 3490 fmi 7 crt 1 on Jpro code shows aftertreatment 1 purge air actuator - mechanical system not responding or out of adjustment after that I change AHI dosing module and change air dryer filter also code is still show and park regen fail after 1 or 2 mints pls advise whats wrong on it
You wouldn't happen to know if I can use the otr performance tool to reset the ecm opposed to recalibrating after replacement? I worked for me after I replaced the nox sensors but I can't seem to find any info regarding the injector, everyone says they just clean the original and pop it back on with no problems
ya there are two different resets to do, need to do it for nox to let the computer know its new, for the 7th injector its called a adaptive factor reset it is very recommended, but if you dont i have seen it drop down or rest it self when you do a regen
Hi Thank you for your videos! Very helpful. Just a quick question..I have a 2010 vnl with a water and air cooled 7th injector..wondering if it can be replaced with a newer generation one without water and air coming to it. Thanks
Hi. Thank you. I wouldn't do it. It wont work right. and it will give you a headache. The coolant cooled 7th injector is a us10 emissions the 7th injector that I talk about is different aftertretment system.
@@volvobigtrucks8640 Thanks for your advice.. Also we have a 2014 vnl with ishift transmission and sometimes in the morning at the first engine start transmission does not respond..engine starts but it not revs up...I'm getting a "check transmission "and transmission failure" warning ,usually if I shoot off the engine and shoot off the power at the main switch it fixes it self...but sometimes I have to repeat this process a few times ..,also sometimes I can hear the gears grinding while starting the truck .this is happening only in the morning..no issue at all when truck is warm. This happens mainly in colder weather ( we are in Canada).. I took the truck several times to our local Volvo dealer but they didn't find anything rong with it.. Any help will be greatly appreciated ! Thank you for your time.
Its fairly difficult to diagnose a truck like this. But it almost sounds like you might have more problems then just the trans. If you haven't already Would start from cleaning battery connection and shut-off switch. The grinding is it coming from trans or back of the engine? If truck is completely out of air it may nor respond to accelerator pedal
@@volvobigtrucks8640 Thanks for your help I clean the battery terminals..switch terminals are clean..not sure how to clean the switch it self..grinding noise is not coming from the timing gears is from transmission..it feels like is not completely in neutral when cranking the engine..but only for a fraction of second..I'm suspecting a link failure between engine and transmission..not sure where to keep investigating.. Thanks for your time.
@@ThePDorin when you run out of air these trucks don’t want to start. If you ever shut off the truck during that first initial start up when you hear the grinding it will not turn back on because the neutral safety switch is not read . This happens to my truck and it’s link to air leaks and dirty air since our transmission are air operated . Change air dryer filter and look for air leaks
My friend what year it’s the truck that you was working?? I have a 2019 volvo truck with 400,000 mills and Mecanic told me that I don’t need to change the 7 injectior he told me my truck don’t come with 7 injector it’s that right?? Thank you so much for the video 👍🏻
I own 2020 volvo. 7th injector is right next to the turbo. It spray diesel fuel during regens to cause fire 🔥 in soot and clean DPF filters. I replaced mine at 750,000 kms. I just did it but my mechanic told me it’s not required 😮
I've had a 7th injector code for a while, swinging by the dealer to scoop up an injector tomorrow. Very informative.
How many miles on your truck ??

Thanks man very informative
Are these two kinds of hydrocarbon ejectors common? Mr.
Can you explain why you replaced that? What are the symptoms? If i have my emissions deleted does that thing still works or no?

yes engine only has 6 injectors but has a aftertreatment injector "ahi nozzle" that doses fuel after turbo, its just another name a lot people use

In an emergency situation can I run a wire thru it to clear out the injector temporarily?
No.Brake cleaner+air blower.
Thank you
Just clean it . No need to replace with new one. There is no mechanism in it.
You absolutely right.
