the Survivor, as drive my van past this city I remember how it used to be but that was then and this is now, people just let things get outta hand I was just a kid back then and nowI'm a middle aged man trying to survive.... I drive my old van through the outskirts of the city because I dare not go into it for the beings that were once humans dwell there now, I stay out here where its more safer and better to see everything in sight.... I stay at this two story house which I keep clean and in nice shape out of respect for the elderly couple who once lived here, I knew them for many years now they're gone,their kids are now gone too.... its a nice place downstairs a spacious living room, a dining room, a big kitchen, a laundry room, a humongous storage & utility room, upstairs 4 bedrooms & a bathroom, also a big attic filled with emergency equipment, & more supplies, outside a big yard around the house, fenced in and secure keeping trespassers out behind the house a large garage and workshop.... Surrounding the property the other houses which are deteriorating with time, I can't take care of all of them, and around the area are forests and in the near distance is a water tower still working.... in the far distance the city,I can see the decaying buildings the bridge that connects to this side of it also decaying with time, the water below it still flows with great power but I wouldn't drink it however, I've seen what it does to those who have & its not very pretty.... I drive around during the day scavenging for food and other supplies I have a kitchen, a storeroom and a workshop full of food and supplies that'll last me for a long while, i have a powerful generator keeping everything going day and night & I'm still optimistic that things will get better.... Across the road I have gas tank hooked up to a line that keeps me from running out of fuel, I guess you can say I've got it made considering whats happened around me, as long as the beings that used to be humans stay in the city everything will be fine out here in the boonies.... Its very quiet, peaceful, some animals, birds, etc., making loud sounds, occasional storms: rain, hail, thunder, & lightning, it gets mildly cold nothing severe, light snow, nothing heavy however.... Its early evening I'm in the house the fireplace going keeping everything warm both up & downstairs, the house is also very secure with alarms & the garage/workshop and the gas tank as well, I have supper, pray for what I have, for those that didn't survive, those who did but are suffering and struggling & I have to keep optimistic even though I doubt life is definitely gone as we know it and we'll never get it back again.... After supper I lock up everything first the garage/workshop and then the gas tank across the road, and now the house, then I go up and go to bed, I pray again for everything, then I lay back under the warmth of the covers, hoping for a peaceful dream, so I say now good night....God Bless....thank you, g'night y'all.
