would a regular hydraulic rock hammer be more efficient? I live in a lava area, central oregon. Every excavator has a rockhammer. What is advantage of the ripper?

+Shane vanWinkle Look at it..It's a wedge..Less chance of the bit getting stuck ..In a hole from round bits..

+Shane vanWinkle this machine delivers 10 or more quick impacts for every single impact from a rock hammer or breaker, plus it has the sharpened wedge tip for faster penetration etc... these machines outproduce a hydraulic rock hammer by a factor of 2 or 3 to one

this hammer works on a eccentric pattern if you don't knife what I mean look it up

@@ronaaserude8225 Nope that's granite. A hammer in the 6,000lb class would fit that machine and brutalize that material deep into the living granite below. No contest but I'm glad this guys demonstrated it because the rest of the ripper tooth vids are all in soft rock in which they're ideally suited. Very fast and accurate. Cheers!
