You won't suck in a year, tops. Learn the following three steps: 1. Importing MIDI. 2. Importing VSTs (instruments and effects). 3. Applying VST Effects. Go to tones.wolfram.com and generate Ambient midi files. Slow them down even further using this: www.midieditor.org If you get some good VST-synths, some echoes, some reverbs, and just do that with Wolf Fram generated MIDIs, you'll be in dark ambient land very quickly. The tutorials on RUclips for FL Studio are fine, but you're just not making beats. No drum sounds, but the composition elements are mostly the same. Dungeon synth, regular ambient, all this type of music is basically made the same way, just with different notes and sounds. Just don't even mess with the FL Studio Pre-sets. They're gangrene. Always go VST.
