I’ll put myself on the Highly commended list, about 4-5 years ago I drove Larry in an Uber that makes me a fully paid Perkins driver, I even got positive feedback on my choice of manual gearbox 😂👍👍 I love telling my peers I’m a paid Perkins driver

A true legendary team and story well delivered here Supercars with always one of the best presented cars in that livery... I got meself one of the 'Legends of Holden Motorsport: 1995 Bathurst 1000 Winner Limited Edition Prints' and need to find a hanging spot for it...

Very happy you did Perkins. I think Stone Brothers next as thats quite a list of drivers

I've added them to the list, I think the top 3-4 is straight forward (order not so), fifth could be a real battle!

Greg Hansford, what a champion he was.

If there was a top 5 on the best Top 5 of all time. You win all 5 prizes for this one Dave. I get goose bumps anytime the 1995 Bathurst is mentioned and I'm covered in them after watching this. Not only a brilliant driver but a great Person. The only thing to add to this is that he is also a main carer for Allan Moffat in his Time of need. A true Legend.

I'm really torn between 1993 and 1995 for my favourite. The 93 race stands out because I just love the VP in that livery and I remember it being an epic battle all day with the Gibson car, then of course 95 was just ridiculous with the last to first run they had

    My Top 5
    1 - Ingall
    2 - Perkins
    3 - S. Richards
    4 - Hansford
    5 - T. Kelly
Can you do GRM next please

GRM is a really good one, time to write the script!

@@SupercarsTorque yep! If you think about success under the Perkins Engineering banner, Ingall is the most successful.

That 1992 livery looks very like the livery DJR used in the early years of V8 Supercars before going back to being predominantly red in 1997. Had a chuckle at the Simpsons walking across Abbey Road in the background as well!
I think Perkins and Ingall were always going to be the top 2, to be honest!
Perkins had a go at F1 in the mid-70s. He entered the 1974 German GP for Chris Amon's team but failed to qualify. He came back a couple of years later in 1976 with the Dutch Boro team, and entered 7 races for them, finishing 13th in Spain, 8th in Belgium, failing to qualify for Monaco, then retiring in Sweden, the Netherlands and Italy. The team then withdrew and he was out of a drive. Then Brabham came calling, with Bernie Ecclestone needing to replace Carlos Reutemann after the Argentinean had gone to Ferrari to replace the injured Niki Lauda. Perkins drove the final three races of the season for the team, finishing 17th in Canada but retiring from the USA and Japan.
He had a final run in 1977, first driving two races for BRM, in which he retired from Brazil and finished 15th in South Africa. In the middle of the year he entered the Belgian, Swedish and French GPs for the Surtees team, but only qualified for the first of these, finishing 12th.
In another achievemet, he also has a Class podium at Le Mans (2nd in 1978, albeit he was 14th overall).
I never quite know how to feel about the Falcons and Commodores used in the 90s, at least until the advent of the VT Commodore (and maybe to a lesser extent the VS) and the AU Falcon. The cars used before them look very boxy.

It does look a lot like the DJR livery, I'd never put the two together now I can't unsee it!
Most of the lists so far have a fairly easy top 2, then the next 2 are usually straight forward and the fifth is the hard one

Marcos Ambrose and Russell Ingall would probably be the top two there I guess. Then you'd have to choose from the likes of Jason Bright, Shane van Gisbergen, James Courtney and David Besnard.
