I like to think that breaking the curse on the DADA teaching post was the ONLY thing that Albus was unable to do. But J K Rowling said Snape wasn’t a vampire. It’s her creation, so she’d know. But he may have been an unregistered animagus. And his animal form could be a bat.
I also think he died at the end, because if he lived it negated his sacrifices. I don’t like that Rowling denied him a decent funeral though.

@@MusketeerGweneth Your spelling is correct. As for Snape almost grabbing the cloak? That was made up for the movie. In the books the corridor incident is in chapter 12, Filch is in the corridor telling Snape about a student in the restricted section. Harry, under the cloak notes that the corridor is narrow and they are walking toward him and they will find him if they walk into him so he quietly ducts into a nearby room and he ends up finding the Mirror if Erised. The conversation he overhears between Snape and Quirrell is in chapter 13, in the forbidden forest. After the quidditch game, Harry is returning his broom to boom shed but notices Snape walking into the forest. He follows by flying his broom. He ends up overhearing part of the conversation while standing in a tree spying on them (not wearing any cloak).

I absolutely love that theory on snaps having drunk a bad batch of liquid luck, which makes me even more sad for him and the amount of dedication and devotion he had towards his mastery of potions. I love the idea also that he failed to court lily because of it cause it does always see, weird to me that she never really stood up that much for him and even dated the one tormenting her best friend, which I couldn’t imagine myself ever doing, especially her being a Griffoendor.

Snape is not a vampire 🙄. When I look at his whole character, I see someone literally trying to hide his real emotions. Maybe Snape stays mainly in the dark because of those emotions he constantly masks. The main emotion we see Snape express is anger. I'd probably call Snape a depressed man in denial. He bullied other students, and had favorites. He bullied Harry because he looked like his father. The man that bullied him for years and the man he lost the woman he loved to. But he bullied Neville more than anyone, because Neville could've been "the chosen one". And it made him angry.

Snape is half vampire royalty, hence The Half Blood Prince. That’s why he created sectumsempra. This is why Voldemort trusted him so, because Voldemort assumed a half-vampire would be against him. Thus, this is JKRs brilliant writing, because the half-vampire is defined by his obsessive love.

I’ve long suspected that Potions Master is a much more difficult teaching position to fill than the Defense Against the Dark Arts position, since a good portion of the latter could be taught in Charms and Transfiguration. Snape could be kept in the Potions role simply because moving him to DADA would still leave a gap in the teaching staff. Remember, he only moved to the DADA role after the previous Potions Master agreed to return to the school.

Less than 30 minutes prior he learned that yeah, Snape was actually a 'good guy', but at this moment the only thing in Harry's mind is "I'm about to be murdered, I want my mommy and daddy with me right now," not "hey, maybe I'll invite the guy that's been mentally, emotionally, and physically abusing me for the last 7 years because he's actually not as bad as I though he was."

Well I knew about these theories as one with favoritism to Snape. First of all Snape did became DADA teacher in year 6 but the interesting thing is the timing. Yes Dumbledore knew the job is cursed and he knew this is the year they will explode everything and take the plan into action. And something bad did happen to Snape- He died. Which brings me to the next point- Snape did die because Rowling said so and it's her story. As for him being a Vampire maybe, but he also may have been Animagus in the form of a Bat. And yes I know the form of the Animagus is the same as one's Patronus but there is a chance he is the first and last to conquer 2 forms. As for Snape's coded message I see it as almost confirmed and the last one is very likely.

In reference to the invisibility cloak, I actually thought, due to the fact he was a double agent, that it was actually him that gave the cloak to Harry, not Dumbledore. So he would have known Harry had it, hence him reaching out like he did when he sensed Harry. Think it has since been deemed that Dumbledore did give the cloak to Harry, although, since Snape would have had to get info to the Order in secret, and the fact he did it to save Lily, I could have seen a reason for them to entrust it to him, in attempts to keep him safe. Lily did still care about Severus, even if she didn't love him like she once did.

Snape was raised under bad conditions he has lived in dimly lit places. He was raised in a poor household. He was not used to light as child and also when he turned to the dark arts this could not change (Malfoys Manor is also a more dark place like the Black house. And later he was completely depressed due to the death of Lily. If Voldemort would have killed him with Avada Kedavra he would not had the chance to give him the memories Harry needed to fulfil his destiny. And he wanted Harry to see in his eyes because Harry has Lilys eyes. The girl he loved all his life even when she was dead.

If snape is indeed a vampire then its always very much sure that he did not die. Vampires dont die from a snape bite. I dont think he was one though. He either was an unregisted animagus or the passage had no hidden meaning at all and it was indeed a dark spell he learned from voldemort

It wasn't fair to Neville nor Harry or anyone else. But thats what Snape did. Yes the death eaters knew about people in the order. And the two children that would've been Voldemort's downfall. "Born to those who have thrise defied him". Voldemort chose Harry Potter, which made snape scared. He asked Voldemort to at least spare Lily, to, for some reason, Voldemort agreed to. But Snape was still concerned, so he went to Dumbledore for help, and said hed do "anything" in return. If Voldemort just flat out killed James and Lily without offering lily her life, there would've been no story in the first place.

Just thought of something. In order for a wizard to take control of another wizard's wand, that wizard has to defeat the other wizard. (Like Harry did to Draco Malfoy). That explains why Lucius Malfoy's wand never worked well for Voldemort since Lucius handed over his wand. Did Voldemort ever defeat Snape? I don't remember seeing that in the books. (Not that it would have mattered, since Draco disarmed Dumbledore before Snape used the killing curse.) I don't see how Voldemort having his snake (Nagini) kill Snape would have given Voldemort control of the elder wand.

Snape was a smart man, he probably made his own version of the Marauders Map to keep track of them. When Harry started school he used it to keep an eye on him from a distance. He also likely learned to be an animagus once he learned that the Marauders had done so.

My theory as to why Voldemort killed snape was because he was beginning to catch on that snape was a double agent. The in universe lore about the elder wand is quite clear at that point that just disarming a witch or wizard switches the elder wands alligence. So if he thought snape was loyal and more competent than his other followers why not just say "hey snape I need you to point your wand at me and let me disarm you"

We know that there are certain plants that are best picked at particular times of day, and also that there are certain elements of magic including potion-making and lycanthropy which depend on the lunar cycle so given that it’s a core subject and not a third year option, it seems obvious that astronomy underpins a lot of other subjects even if it’s rarely referred to in the lessons we see taking place.
I think that there are several possibilities for this but: if some plants are best picked at twilight then knowing the exact time of sunset for a given day (which is an astronomical calculation) would be essential to optimise the harvest; knowing the moon phases would help with potions that need to brew for specific lengths of time; and it’s also possible that there are more subtle influences of the stars and planets over other things like when a particular spell might be most powerful or when a potion is best brewed.
That would also make sense of there being a space room in the Department of Mysteries: whilst the influences of certain lunar or planetary positions might be known by observation, the department might be researching *how* they influence those things.
And that’s without considering more mundane things like Dumbledore and Harry needing to know the tides in order to access Voldemort’s coastal cave…

Some believe Voldemort used Nagini to kill Snape is because Voldemort valued Snape. Aside from believing the wand couldn't kill its masrer, but that Voldemort didn't have it in him to kill snape himself. Because you need to "mean it" to use Avada kadavra. Basically, Voldemort did not "want" to kill snape. So he used Nagini, which would still count as Voldemort killing Snape, since she was a Horcrux. And as for a potion or an antivenom, remember, Voldemort gave Nagi the power of venom. A special kind of venom created by Voldemort. Good luck making an antivenom or potion for that.

@theoviganestorhaug1366 well, voldemort had his "favorite" death eaters, and snape was one of them. Voldemort saw alot of himself inside snape. He was half blood and wasn't loved by his parents. Was voldemort actually "sorry" for having to kill snape? Not really, but he wasn't happy about having to kill one of his best death eaters.

I don't think Snape's a vampire BUT it would not have surprised me if it had turned out that he was a dhampire, a half breed son of a human/vampire pairing and Tobias Snape was just the man his mother had married to hide her son's real nature. It would have explained his 'patient's terrible relationship, his social awkwardness and possibly the Marauders' hatred of him as werewolves and vampire are known for not getting along and as Lupin's 'pack' James and Sirius would have used any excuse to make a half vampire's life a misery, especial as suicide is said to be the only way a dhampire can permanently die.
