- So let's begin... A solution to it all! Check out Megami33's newest cover from Dr. Stone OP 2, "Sangenshoku!" :D
Lots of fun shonen shows lately and Dr. Stone is definitely on my list! This was an interesting one to translate. There's a lot of themes with colors in the lyrics throughout the song. As I didn't want to constantly repeat blues and yellows all over lol I tried my best with getting the feeling that the colors expressed. Yellow representing the strong voice that calls out for change, as well as the blues connecting to all life such as the sky and water around us. It may not be as direct as some of my other ones, but I also wanted to have some sense as oppose to being just as flowery as the original is, which is a lot when it comes to Japanese songs for Anime. Anyway, hope you enjoy peeps!

Anime lyrics almost always have themes of breaking limits through spirit, or reflections of what has been lost or what can be gained. While I'll take it any day over American lyrics of sappy sentimentalism at its deepest, I will admit it's getting slightly tired.
Then here comes this song, bearing the same "break through the limit" optimism... with a twist. Instead of basing that optimism in a shounen fighting spirit... it does what no other anime opening does, and bases that gumption in a curiosity about the world.
Just another way this show frames scientific principles - and the underlying curiosity that powers scientific thought - as cool in a way no other show does. Too many shows depict science-themed heroes as know-it-alls... when the reality is that the mark of a scientist is not in knowing the right _answers,_ but in asking the right _questions._
