Here’s what should happen: csx should either 1, buy the segment they’re currently using. 2, they could just renew the lease and deal with this stuff again. Or 3, my goofy idea, just have csx buy the entirety of the Iowa Interstate!

Glad someone understands CSX does not own The New Rock ....only thing you forgot is the Elgin Joliet and Eastern tried this line 1st from April to May 1980 and could not come to terms with the Rock Truste and bailed.....Unimin had their own short line Winchester and Western til Chessie signed the lease back in August of 1980.....well done!

Wow, Had no idea that the old Rock Island Main made so much money!! I use to be a truck driver. I use to run Meijer Trucks from Lansing MI, to Chicago area Meijer stores in the overnight hours. I use to go past this line on I-294 and I-80 every night. I always thought when the Metra trains were gone, the line was pretty dead except a couple of CRL, Iowa Interstate and CSX trains. I've seen the big Chemical Plants out in Morrice however.
