"Once we have the majority of R6 experiences working with the adapter, we will be switching the adapter to “opt-out,” meaning it will automatically work on all R6 experiences." AKA, it's going to be forced onto all R6 experiences, but if the developer is active they can choose to opt-out and not have the adapter on. This does mean really old games with inactive devs will break though.
But it doesn't seem to be a problem that will happen for the next couple of years, since it seems like this adapter is already depreciated and full of bugs that no one within the past few months has bothered to iron out. Really the entire point of the adapter is to make sure that cosmetic avatar items show up correctly in all games, because ROBLOX needs that to happen to make sure people buy them.
This is really cool, but i really hope that this wont be forced on all games. Maybe Roblox should make it so that by default games that use the normal R6 avatar will keep using that so that old games dont break. And then there will be a setting in studio to turn on the R6 adapter. I think this could be useful for retro games so that people can customize their avatar more in those games. But as long as the R6 adapter isnt on by default, i and probably everyone else will be happy
You can also test the R6 Adapter by going into Funky Friday, shiftlocking your character, then starting a song. A bit easier than going into studio, or if your on mobile.
yeah it said "look and feel" and it looks so weird, they also said emotes would work early in the video but then said they might not bc "r6 has limited movement" i argue r15 has limited movement. r6 allows for the animator to detach limbs to exaggerate poses and have it look good. that doesnt only mean it will work but honestly, might look even better. most r15 animations look really stiff and slow to me. theres no reason to why the r6 to r15 adapter cant have emotes and look like the original
@@MrPuptyI should clarify, the “animations” I’m talking about was animating inside of Roblox Studio, not actual emotes. Sorry about that! I do also find it strange how you can’t use R15 emotes though. I wasn’t sure about an actual clear answer, so I could only guess. I don’t know if the forum or any comments inside said something about this.
i think this is just a pointless change that looks worse then normal r6 and gives you features that nobody cares about i really hope its just on option forever

You can also just play Survive and Kill the Killers in Area 15. Works great in there.

Agreed. I don’t know why Roblox keeps forcing these on us when nobody cares about it at all
pretty cool but there's things like this on the UGC marketplace that turn R15 characters into R6 which is cool
