    The best thing to do is stay away from engagement bait football discussions. Foden can ghost for 3 games straight, score 2 whilst city are 4 up and people give him poty shouts, Saka needs just 1 bad performance before people start that whole limping thing again. The Issue that players like mbappe and haaland are going to face moving forward for a long time is the existence of both Messi and Ronaldo. These 2 freaks of nature have practically ruined the perception of what an elite player is and its kinda raised the expectation bar so high that nothing they do for a while is going to satisfy this post messi and ronaldo era.

    The narrative that bothers me the most is that he can’t play as a striker. He has thrived in that position in countless of seasons like the 16/17, 18/19, 20/21 and 22/23 campaigns. The only seasons he has looked questionable as a striker is this season and it’s mostly because he’s unwilling to make runs behind the defence or into the box and he doesn’t show for the ball like he used to. I have no doubt he’ll make the position his own in Madrid

      @Zenbassador No, that's not happening, I think. 1. He needs to adapt to the physicality of La Liga, something he almost never experienced apart from the UCL. 2. Opponents. La Liga teams won't make half their defenders chase someone to create space like in Ligue 1. I think he'll have the same first season like Haaland, though I think he'll score more. This excites me, now that Haaland and Mbappe are in comparable leagues, we're finally going to see whether Mbappe can cook against good teams week in week out, or it just a fraud that was made to look good by Ligue 1. Haaland proved he could, and I don't doubt Mbappe can either.

Even consistently getting top 8 in CL is a good result for a team in farmers league right..

    As a Barcelona fan, gotta hard disagree with Mbappe as best ITW right now. On pure potential? I could see it, maybe.
    But what has Mbappe done since the WC to put but above Vincius, for example? Man turns up EVERY single week, and yeah you could say “he’s at Madrid lol” but Mbappe is on France, and lets be serious about that team compared to other NTS. Also, we have seen - MANY TIMES - teams keep Mbappe quiet for essentially entire 90s. There is no reason for him to not have scored v PSG (Hummels was great, but Mbappe finishing left things to be desired - also is very selfish and had an INCREDIBLE BCM number when playing with Messi).
    Vini shows up and shows out essentially every game, regardless of who he is facing, playing in basically the closest position to where Mbappe is. I can’t see it, ami, truly.
    Nonetheless I do agree ENTIRELY with the argument in general that players are too scrutinized and people love removing context from imperfect performances. That conversation about Zidane needs to be woken up lmao….

    You are speaking facts! Also, mbappe shows up in big games (world cup finals) and he is relatively highly consistent. I think you cant blame Mbappé for being inconsistent if he has a bad game from time to time, lets remember that mbappe like any other great players have crazy pressure. Also i think Mbappé having some bad games has to do with alot of different Things and factors which people need to remember imo. Not saying Mbappe is unqualified to criticism but like other players he needs the support like others. But yeah, either way i think mbapp is a beast and probably the best in the World. Also people need to remember his not only a speed merchant. Two seaspns ago he had like 15+ asissts plus he is a wc dribbler imo. Maybe mbappe is not on messi level in terms of dribbling and playmaking but he is for sure a world class dribbler and a great playmaker imo. A lot of people will look back at Kylian Mbappe’s career at PSG and bring up the fact that he’s scored over 250+ goals for the club without winning the champions league despite playing with Messi and Neymar. His stats speak for itself with over 300+ goals in his career for club and country, he’s a World Cup winner, he’s won everything domestically and has already played in 2 World Cup finals one of them in which he scored a hat trick in, but he’s missing that one trophy which is the champions league and he’s 25 years old and also has still not won the Ballon Dor. Many people see him as a failure at PSG, but I’m divided on his time there and I don’t think he failed there, you have to have a balanced perspective and constructive criticism towards him.
    For any player to average a G/A a game for a single club at the age of 25 and still be considered as a failure, it tells you how high he has set the bar and on paper that’s very impressive. I know most of his goals and assists came in Ligue 1, but realistically, how many players have been putting up those numbers in the last 5-6 seasons. He is obviously a world class player and if only people watched him for a full season rather than just judge him off of 2-3 important champions league games. If you’re a person who looks solely at individual brilliance without looking at who wins more trophies in a season you can see that nobody can rival Kylian Mbappe from a talent perspective including Erling Haaland Jude Bellingham Vinicius Junior Harry Kane Phil Foden etc. . Unfortunately, nobody watches PSG because fans don’t care about winning Ligue 1 since they do it every year when you’re a superstar playing for PSG it’s difficult because your legacy there is defined off of just the champions league and whether you win it or not. He never won the champions league at PSG and due to him getting knocked out by Borussia Dortmund him getting to just 1 final in 7 years, people are pushing an agenda that he’s overrated he doesn’t show up in big games he needs Madrid more than they need him and he can’t be the best player in the world. The same people who think he’s overrated are the same ones who don’t even watch him or PSG on a weekly basis and just judge him off of UCL games. He’s has some big games where he’s not produced when it matters the most 2019- Manchester United 2nd leg or RD of 16, 2020- Bayern Munich in the final, 2021- first leg against Manchester City even after a brace and hat trick against Bayern Munich and Barcelona respectively ghosted in the 2nd leg, 2023- RD of 16 against Bayern Munich, 2024- Barcelona and Dortmund in both legs. That’s an issue especially since he’s a superstar and in some sense he shares a bit of blame for PSG’s shortcomings in the champions league, but it’s not entirely his fault. People expect them to win the UCL since they had Mbappe Messi and Neymar on the same team and it was a squad full of individuals, but talent alone doesn’t guarantee you the champions league because you can have great players, without a team it won’t work out and that’s what we saw at PSG and anyone with ball knowledge should know that with them on the same team they never had a chance to win the champions league. He’s been playing on such a weak team with a decent goalkeeper leaky defense and an ok midfield that has a 17 year old as their most important midfielder. He is their only world class player and with both of them gone, even he couldn’t take them all the way in Europe. No individual has single handedly carried a team to a champions league title not even Messi or Ronaldo. In general, the PSG project has failed filling the squad with superstars didn’t work out you’re about to lose your front 3 in a span of a year and after Mbappe leaves, I don’t see PSG ever winning a champions league title in the future. From Mbappe’s perspective with him going to Real Madrid he’s doing a KD all over again joining the team that just won the UCL a trophy that you’ve yet to win in your career, he needs champions league titles in order to cement his legacy and be a footballing great he knows that he can’t waste his peak in Ligue 1 because he stayed at PSG for way too long and a move to La Liga is great for his brand and image and he’ll exactly get more exposure in a much tougher league. I hope he wins champions leagues and a Ballon Dor because he’s 25 years old meaning that he still has much more to achieve and putting him on a proper squad will allow him to actually fulfill his true potential which is why his move to Real Madrid makes a lot of sense even if they don’t need him.

    I know mbappe is gonna wreck la liga, i just dont know where hes gonna play, and as for now i think mbappe needs real madrid more than the other way around, does not mean i dont think of mbappe as the best player in the world at his peak, because he is, even with what vini is doing now i still think when everyone is playing at their best, mbappe is by a bit the most threatening, terrifying and most dangerous player on the pitch.

    I’d like to make it clear, that this new generation (post 2010s) are not in any way better individually than any top player from the 2010s or 2000s.
    Mbappe and Haaland are supposed to be taking over the top spots from Ronaldo and Messi, yet they are way worse against top players and teams.
    Yeah there’s some situations where you can say: “well look at this:”
    Mbappe is 25. You know that Messi and Ronaldo we’re definitely in their primes at that age. Ofc they were good long into their 30s, but Mbappe really shows no signs of what they are doing.

      Messi and Ronaldo where better than the ones before them too.
      They are a big exception.
      Compare Mbappe to the people around Messi and Ronaldo or to the guys before them and he fits in.

    As a Real Madrid fan , my main problem with Mbappe is not his inconsistency or his ego ( Carlo will most probably deal with that ) + If he joins and ruins a potentially UCL winning dressing room and La Liga winning one all fingers will point at him anyways , my problem with him is that he is one of the worst attackers in the world in terms of defensive contribution and that puts a lot of stress on the team off the ball and will have a lot of different effects mainly longer stretches of the team struggling to gain possession if the ball got to the other team , also it spreads off the work load of 1 player who is not defending to the rest of the team so the team get tired faster throughout the game , i get it he is the best player in the world and probably talking like that on a free player is a luxury that no fan in the world have the privilege too so i think he will surely be a net positive on the team but i have my concerns that will make me on the lookout for him once he starts playing for us .

    Will see when he has a midfield behind him. PSG have no midfield or dna. Now imagine vini jnr, rodrygo and mbappe dragging defenders away from each other. Then killing teams with pace. With Jude sitting just behind them.. Think it’s different gravy

    I think it’s fine to tax Zidane due to inconsistency. I’ve gone back and watched league campaigns of great players (when there’s enough film, so 1970’s+) and Zidane was very inconsistent. He’s one of the guys who I’ve watched the most full matches of and when looking at all time great players since 1970, he’s actually as inconsistent as it gets. There are a handful of all time greats that were regularly phenomenal, especially compared to Zizou. Those include Messi, Ronaldo, Maradona, Cruyff, Beckenbauer, Maldini, R9 (pre injury only), Platini, Zico, Baresi, Romário, van Basten, Matthäus, and many many others. Sure, like you said, they weren’t great literally every week but they were all notably more consistent than Zidane. Mbappé is also a fair bit more consistent than Zidane and I’ll be interested to see if that continues in Spain. Consistency is a key attribute when defining someone’s greatness, but I do acknowledge that most other people are not going back and watching old matches to actually gauge what it looks like.
    But holy shit good cooking with the Rodri take.

  • @sankersmenon8147

    Mbappe was completely bad against barca. He was never getting anywhere. Stats don't show u that, watching games do. He got lucky with a penalty and a taping but besides that he ghosted in both the legs. Even against Argentina in the final which u claimed he played well because he scored a hat-trick, u forget he was also completely shut down for the entirety of first 60-65 minutes. Only when Griezmann got subbed off and Kingsley Coman and Camavinga got subbed in and when the Argentine defense got fatigued, was Mbappe able to snatch a hat-trick (2 of them being penalties) . So the "big game player " argument in favour of Mbappe makes sense only if u look at stats. If u watch the game, then u will see how horrible he is when he plays against experienced or even above average teams

  • @HecPeverell

    Dude, it's not about to be good every week and it's not about to be bad in one game. Mbappe is playing on PSG. So there's only two competition he could show that he is the best: ucl and euros. It doesn't matter how good he seems to be on League One. That competition it's not a worthy parameter to choose the best player in the world. In the last 4 games on ucl he didn't enough and his team was eliminated. He still have one chance. If he didn't show up with France, he can't be the best of this season. Simple as that.

  • @roleoahotondji54
    @roleoahotondji54 25 дней назад

    Nah, dude. Mbappe isn't the best player in the world at the moment (for the 23/24 season), Vini had a better season than him. Mbappe is a good player, and it's not that he isn't consistent, he is. But he hasn't performed well against a really good team since a long time now, and if you actually watch him play repeatitively, you will see he hasn't been really the same since after the world cup. You talk about the Dortmund game as if he was good against Barça... He was far from being the best player against Barça in quarter final and it was the same against Dortmund.
    How many big games has to pass before we start judging a player? We can't just keep bringing up his past performances (2022 and before) to dismiss any criticism. Mbappe's overall game isn't as good as before; he isn't as dangerous as he was with the ball at his feets. The fact all the highlights (or even the performances) you showed in the video are from pre-2022 is a testament of that. I hope for him he could find his best form at Marid, but the criticisms he has received are completely justified.

  • @silverophelian877
    @silverophelian877 3 месяца назад

    Not even gonna watch your video. It's incredibly click baity and disrespectful. Imma break down why Mbappe is not as consistent as he was for most of this season.
    Ever since Mbappe announced to the PSG dressing room in February he has not been the same outside of France. You see it in every international game outside of Real Sociedad (they were easy tbh) that he has reached a plateau, he isn't as confident and concentrated (with everything going around in the background, plus his abysmal relationship w/ Nasser), and he has become the most loved/hated footballer on the planet. Granted the hate is partially due to his poor decision making when pressured but when the political big wigs of French football and the French government come to you as a fellow French citizen, and gaslight you into staying for their benefit (not yours), and then give you 3 trucks worth of money, as a 23 year old..... its hard making the right decisions.
    All Mbappe needs is to regain his confidence back and be in a team that not only needs him but wants him. Which Madrid do. And yes for the kind of domination Madrid want (treble, domestic domination) for the next 5 years, Mbappe is needed. No doubt. No need to watch this stupid video. Just know football and the players.

If Mbappe is the best he should too, simple as that. vini is the best player in the world right now and this video felt more like a “let me show why vini isn’t the best player in the world” instead of “why I think Mbappe isn’t a fraud” my boy Rodri for ballon dor 😂 he’s amazing but he got eliminated and there are so many other candidates.
