  • We just lost an absolute legend of the game. Doyle Brunson, The Godfather, has been playing high stakes poker for more than 50 years. He won 10 WSOP bracelets and made millions in the biggest cash games around. We all owe Doyle a debt of gratitude for bringing the game into the mainstream and being a fantastic ambassador.

Doyle is the ultimate poker legend. He was both liked and respected by all poker players which is quite rare in such an individualistic game. Not many players if any would get a standing ovation from hundreds of players after busting in a tournament. I think it was because he never took him selfself too serious, was gracious in defeat and a good winner. Such a great guy with a wonderful life.

Excellent tribute to Doyle Brunson, Doug. He was humble, drama-free class act from the flop to the river.

Doug, please learn from his legacy. Be more like Doyle. May his memory be a blessing. 😢

Yes, while I was with Doug about religion, I didn't think he handled it well. Not unusual for Doug.
