    Sprinter vans have a battery disconnect in the footwell. No tools needed and much faster than removing the floor panel to remove the positive terminal from the battery.

      @@donniec6048 in a LHD van it's right next to the accelerator pedal. Not sure about a RHD van.

      Not all Sprinters have it, mine doesn't (2013 316cdi). I think that the disconnect isn't there if you have the factory installed auxiliary battery.

      The disconnect is where the excelerator pedal is.

      The battery disconnect is an option. No stock in all vans.

    My tensioner didn't have a bolt to turn anti clockwise instead , I used i pry bar to turn the tensioner. There's is a lip on tensioner to use.

      @@paisleyskidmore5585 look underneath, next to the idler. There's nothing attached to it. You can see there's a slot to put a bar in . Have a look you able to recognise it

    Hey man this is great , how did you release the belt tensioner???

      You need a 17mm 12 point socket and I would recommend using a really long ratchet (I used a 65cm one). Then it's just a matter of coming in from underneath, locating the right bolt and turning it. Google "Mercedes Sprinter belt tensioner" to get a reference as to what you're looking for.

    Could do with little air ratchet. Did this job today with customer stood watching .. no pressure lol. Found putting new one on more problems as didn't want to sit between top brackets

    Are you sure the tensioner is clockwise?! Also what are you using? A torx fitting if so what size?

      yes, its clockwise. i am sorry but dont remember, i think it was 14mm long and bent. spanner
