From age 21 to about 45 I had five armed attacks initiated against me while living in California. I did have a concealed license. In all of them, producing my pistol caused the assailant(s) to decamp. I am grateful for that.
In all your years in Cali☠️fornia, I am proud of you for standing strong against attempted evils against you; ESPECIALLY in a state where criminals proverbially "make the rules," and the government supports them.
Ive owned my guns for three years. I’ve had to use my pistol to diffuse a situation twice. Once was a road rage where the person cut me off and jumped out of his truck with something in his hand. It turned out to be a tire iron, but I didn’t know that until I had drawn and sighted my pistol. He turned around and drove away. The second was an incident where I was surrounded by four men in a parking lot in a rough part of town. I placed my hand on my pistol and positioned myself to defend myself. After a few tense seconds they decided I wasn’t worth it. I am the only person in my family to own a gun and I am grateful every day I made that decision. I refuse to allow other peoples discretion to dictate my safety.
At 76, I can't run. As a Viet Nam veteran, I'm tired of rejections. As a 30+ years firearm instructor, I will not consider even a 1% against my safety. Criminals do not operate on statitics! My advise to gun owners AND to criminals is: If you do not like the heat, don't go to the kitchen. My life (and your's) can not depend on statistics or the bad intentions of someone else.
Im sorry sir but i didnt get the intent of your post. are you in the "resist" camp?, its hard to tell altho the feel of the post leans more "resist but with propper training and attitude" I mean no disrespect im just unclear.
@@maddhatter3564the vibe I got from this is be prepared and resist when you get your chance. Remember, The bad guy always gets to set the time and place and will almost always get the drop on you- it is your duty as a self-defender to be trained, practice vigilance, and fame compliance until you can set up for a counter ambush
@@maddhatter3564 Oh, he's saying he's not going to put up with sheit. He's taught others to be able to as well, which requires deliberate thought process. Violent action or threat of it *requires* Violence OF Action, to deal with stopping it. For yourself and for others.
Dad was in Vietnam, glad he made it home 😂or I wouldn't have been here. Glad you did too. I've been put into positions of having to defend others. Time slows and you can't move fast enough.
Being an attempted murder survivor I will ALWAYS fight back. I don't know if an attackers gun is real or fake, works or not. Their INTENT is the same. I will not go through the same thing again as it took me 9 years to get recovered.
I've seen a couple tight calls, if not ten worse than I realized at the time. Bluff can go a long way, and I won't go into that. Once I was trapped with a surprise of three knife points to my back, three thugs and their handler, blocking the escape route. A stranger had been studying the set up, and saw me innocently enter it (not a drug deal, I was merely exploring a location by "invitation"). The stranger came close and called at the last moment, scared them silly, and they quickly hid their knives. For all they knew , he was the police - but if he had not shown up, I was dead. This wasn't a robbery, I was actually a surviving witness to another one of their crimes but I had yet to put the clues together. I was about 28 years, but utterly naive about how bad things actually are in the greater reality. These days it is much worse most places. The stranger took off quickly but I was able to get away in the confusion. I live to tell the missed statistic. My assailants believed they were defeatable under the circumstances and allowed me to slip away.
Love your channel. Im 61 yrs old, have had a cc permit since 1984. On three occasions, I was outnumbered 2, 3, 6 to one. The mere presence of my firearm caused the bad guys to flee. I live in southwest PA. I carry everywhere, every day.
I remember a liberal reporter asking a self defense instructor, "don't you think violence just creates more violence? The instructor replied, " I certainly hope so".
Back in the mid 90s, I was a martial arts instructor and an NRA pistol instructor. So I looked for statistics regularly. One study I remember said people who fought back were over 50% less likely to be seriously injured than those who didn't. It didn't break the number down for firearms or other means. One stat I've seen many times said 85% of victims who were taken to a secondary location were killed or seriously injured. I remember it said it was better to be shot that taken to a secondary location.
ANY time you have to consider going to a second location should be used fighting like hell in your current location. Going to a second location almost always holds a much worse fate than what’s going to happen during the would be abduction. If they want to take you somewhere else it’s in order to do awful things to you in private. Fuck that.
Oh heck yes! I'm not getting into any van, car or truck, without my full conscious consent! In other words, bad guys best knock me out or kill me right then and there! I ain't taking no acid bath! Just like those coward videos of showing cowardly Muslims cutting the heads off of Coptic Christians, from behind, on their knees, hands behind their back, and the coward Muslim comes from being them! Heck, No, if you can move at all, then roll, kick, head butt, bite, yell, anything, make them waste a bullet!
Please, Tom, more videos like these! While I do carry, I am also training in R.A.T. Fighting. I'm a small woman, with added disadvantages. I would not want to bet my life on a possibly "fake, unloaded, or malfunctioning" gun.
The flip side is true also - we must pick the right moment to fight back and not be overly dismissive of the threat. If the criminal has a gun pointed at your head it is okay to feign compliance and then draw a gun when he has looked away or turned. We must be trained and prudent, picking just the right moment to use our own firearm.
I'm 52 and I'm blessed to have NEVER had to pull my CC weapon in self defense. I've trained with and used firearms extensively in the military, but it's like American Express said, "Don't leave home without it!" Better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it!
I've been seeing former uscca members talking about being dropped from uscca in a firearm incident. I'm so glad I caught that on utube as I almost joined uscca. I'm glad I paused on that decision. I believe a lawyer on retainer here is better money spent. Shame on you for dropping you members when they need you most!
These statistics will only be used to support mainstream media's socialist and leftist view. We will see ALL gun carry outlawed by a federally elected Democrat-controlled US Congress and/or executive branch of federal government. Get ready NOW.
Don't depend on the MSM to get the truth out there! If it is bad they hide it and if it is good they hipe it! Democrats own mostmof the news out lets and now soros is trying to buy the Spanish speaking outlets. It is time we sorted out the big trouble makers!
Advancing well into my senior years at 70, I realized I am no longer the same man I used to be, but that is not the reason I now carry a gun. I could tell you it was the Bruen decision which made Maryland issue me a permit to carry, but that would be a lie. It's because Baltimore is a scary place, and every damn gang member & crook is armed with a knife or a gun - so I am trying to even the odds.
I was bullied in grade school every day! I was beaten by my bully daily, until I grew enough size and weight to put a stop to it! at 64 years of age, I still cannot tolerate a bully! Criminals are bullies and tyrants, and I will resist with every fiber of my being at every opportunity, and refuse to be a victim! if we do not stand up to tyrants and bullies, they will run roughshod over you! if you do not wish to be a victim, you absolutely must resist to the best of your ability! God made man, Sam Colt made them equal!
I was recently assaulted by a felon living near me. He shoved me violently backwards and I almost fell as I was wearing a 40lb pack the time. This felon out weighted me by 90lbs and 3” in height. But what was even more injurious to me then the physical assault itself was how our keystone cops handled the situation. They called me the instigator, aggressor, and agitator. They basically set me up for another “justifiable” assault by this guy. I lived in this house for over 40 years and never have felt as unsafe as I do now. A firearm is definitely in my future plus bodycam. I am a senior citizen and the assailant is 43.
@user-zq4rl9hs4f it would certainly repell most would be attackers, but there is a small percentage that would attack someone to steal their firearm - like with a pipe to the back of the head.
The best defense is always a good offense. So Fight, Fight, Fight until you have destroyed the enemy because 1) They won't expect it, 2) your firearm will always be in fully operational condition and 3) A defender always fights harder than an attacker because there is more at stake..
Wow. As a member of USCCA I found this to be inspiring and informative about the odds any of us might have in some kind of attack. Keep this kind of content coming. Thanks.
I think that one aspect of carrying that many people overlook. Its not just about protecting oneself from other people! I unfortunately had a very regretful experiance just this morning! I work on a golf course and I was mowing the tees when two dogs tried to attack me. I raised my hands and yelled trying to stop them but they continued. I drew my gun (Walther WMP 22mag for pest control) and fired a warning shot into the ground, but it just made them come at me faster. I then shot one in the foot, hoping it would end the attack, but they both continued to advance. I then emptied my mag into both of them. I truly did not want to do it because I really love dogs and it breaks my heart that I had to do it, but it was either that or let them have their way with me. Im a disabled Marine, nobody and nothing has its way with me. Luckily there were several witnesses who all told the cops exactly what happened and they all said that I was well within my right to proteck myself because I would have 100 percent been mauled by a boxer and a bitbull mix. Dont get me wrong, I am not throwing shade at those breeds. There is nothing wrong with either breed, but when not taught right any dog can get aggressive and try to attack strangers. Just remember to please keep your dogs under control, because just because you think your dog would never attack a stranger for no reason doesnt mean its true.
GREAT JOB you went to get your recreational exercise for the day,and to become a human chew toy. My only criticism is the 22. Small 22 and another package for greater work. Yes this is my out in the wilderness standard.I love k9s I train them on every level however if I have to lay them down thats what it is . Great job again.
@chimniebanks4787 The 22 is just for shooting armadillos early before the sun comes up. They destroy our tees and greens, so I carry it just for that purpose. Normally, I carry a Canik SFX Rival 9mm for edc. I just think that a 9mm is a bit much for armadillos, so I use my Walther for that. Since the incident, however, I have started to carry my Rival on the golf course instead of the Walther. I'm currently saving to purchase a suppressor for it so that it doesn't disturb the people that live close to the course.
EONS ago, my 3 year old son was being stalked IN MY OWN YARD by a neighbor's dogs, a shephard mix and a labrador. I yelled for our Boxer and she ran into the first one and knocked it rolling then took the other one down by the throat. They both ran home. Dogs will often do things in a 'pack' they won't do alone. I'm glad you're well, sir.
I feel bad for you having to do it, but you did everything you could do to run them off. And being mauled by dogs is to be avoided if at all possible. I would feel bad too I love animals but I’m sure I would feel worse while being mauled.
Very good content. I have to agree that the situation depends on many factors, but by and large, even in “safe” areas being trained and armed is the best option and preparedness begins with situational awareness. Especially for the aged and omen.

@@AttyTomGrieveI'm a Brit,we're fukd, not allowed to defend ourselves, firearms, no chance? It's kind of ironic when you consider the times Brits and Yanks stood side by side defending freedom.
I saw our country changed back in early 2000s. Approx 10+ years ago, I enrolled myself in a firearms safety and tactical training course which is 11 months long. The course was 4 hours a week, divided into 5 programs. As a woman, a mother I need to have some form of protection to protect my children, my family and myself. I take the annual month-long refresher course every year. Our children started martial arts when each turned 5 and were also enrolled into a firearm safety and tactical training course for children once they turned 7 and they take the month long annual refresher course every year. The America we live in today is not the same America we grew up in. With the porous borders and the obscene increase in crime, I'm not going to take any chances. I appreciate your videos. Thank you.
Crime rates are worse in red states it’s not even comparable or close. Crime rates today are generally lower than they used to be what’s different is the media making people much more aware.
Good video. I do think it's important to remember that in some areas people have to worry about wild animals, and even dogs (look into stats on dog attacks).
Thanks Tom for the stats. When I discuss defensive gun I pose the following theory. There is general agreement that there is between 1.5 and 2.0 million defensive gun use incidents per year. If in only in 10% of the cases a person isn't killed or seriously injured that results in 150k to 200k saved. Contrast this to the 21k homicides per year. The conclusion is that at a minimum 10 times more people are saved then killed. This clearly makes the point that self defense works.
I think that 10% is too low an assumption of harm. I would say 50% because good people do not present their guns to bad guys unless they feel real fear of attack. In which case it is more likely to be 1 million people saved from injury or death. The other thing to remember, is the many millions of times criminals don't even consider even threatening people because they know the chances of being shot are high.
Great perspective using data to show probabilities, use and outcomes. Its always better to carry, just need to be mentally prepared and trained to take the best course of action when necessary. Thanks!
Martial Arts✅ Firearms Training✅ Spiritual Education ✅ Physically Fit✅ Understanding that not everyone is a threat, but every threat needs to be taken seriously ✅ Having a lawyer on retainer✅✅
Also, understand that past data doesn't predict the future. We have 2 really unprecedented stats, that is, we've never seen it before: 1. Fentanyl annual deaths exceeding 6-figures 2. Cartel incursions across the entire country It's interested how impotent the lower thugs actually are, but there's a new breed of criminal and I would not underestimate them. How many "non functional" weapons do we see in Mexico, when they're sporting SAWs, grenades, RPG-29s and M72 LAWs. They have everything, and I have suspicions the ones in our country are trickling in the same kind of warfighting capability.
Companies in America always preach in their Human Resources "training" is that you should comply with attackers, thieves, etc. Almost like they don't have your best interests in mind after all. They say things like, "Objects can be replaced, but your life cannot." While this is true on the surface, people think it means one thing when the company is telling you something else. They don't care if you get killed while complying. They will replace you and move on. What the company can't replace is LOST money when you fight back and possibly injure or kill the attacker in the process. Because that means investigations, court dates, etc, and by that point it becomes too expensive for the company.
What a country you guys live in... I've lived all over this planet and have never needed a gun to protect myself. It always amazes me that you guys are proud that you have to carry a firearm to protect yourself, where everywhere else its just not needed. That something to proud about!
Here's my question: When someone uses a gun to protect themselves, how often are they prosecuted for using that gun to protect themselves. How many go to jail. For how long. I haven't seen a video on this yet that really tells us what the full consequences are for carrying, and using if you have to, a firearm. This video is 1/2 of it. (protecting yourself from the crime), but what about the other half? Protecting yourself from the criminal justice system?
I can produce a firearm and scare off a bad dude. What concerns me is that he's likely to subsequently attack and harm someone who is NOT going to be able to resist. I'm not willing to go to prison for firing on a fleeing criminal, but the thought of what could happen to his next victim really troubles me.
Fight back with firearm, knife, tooth and claw. Just fight back. What’s the option? Be a deer in the headlights and just volunteer your life to be taken?
The three possible responses to a sudden attack are fight, flee, or freeze. You would be amazed at how many people just freeze in a situation like that. Fight-or-flight is only 2/3 of a possible response.
Ive never had to pull my firearm but three times I've had to pull out my pepper gel spray due to loose dog attacks. All three times the vicious dog owners were present, witnessed me spraying their dogs and said nothing.
Superb presentation Counselor. I submit for consideration a mindset to minimize potential difficulties in the criminal/civil/moral/spiritual realm after a use of deadly force. Only use deadly force on a hostile when you believe yourself and/or others in your immediate vicinity are about to be gravely injured or killed by said hostile if you didn't pull the trigger at that moment in time. Shoot only when no other option. Don't shoot just because you think the law says you can.
Pretty much simple steps, 1.Conceal carry if you can in your state. 2. Be Aware of your surroundings and use common sense. 3. Buy carry conceal insurance just in case. 4. Use your rights if detained. 5. Lawyer up.
Much appreciated, counselor. I only started carrying a few years ago, but I quickly evolved from not carrying at all to carrying all the %@$& time, every day (everywhere it's legal to do so in the Peoples' Republic of Just South of Wisconsin). The first time I was forced to contemplate drawing, I (appropriately) chose not to. But I DID decide to add OC streaming spray to my EDC. The second time I was forced to consider drawing, I (wisely) decided not to - and when I realized that the guy who tried to get into my vehicle with me was simply morbidly inebriated, I didn't feel the need to use the OC spray either. The THIRD time I was forced to consider drawing, I allowed the aggressive road-raging driver of a very old beat up car (who yelled that I was "goin' too SLOW!!!" - I wasn't) to SEE that I was reaching into my coat with a sad but serious look on my face, and I'm happy to say that he disengaged. Aggravated assaults & batteries and fatal shootings have been occurring in my area with increasing frequency (for apparently stupid reasons) over the last few years. I've been a FF/EMT since 1989, during which time I've acquired an experiential basis for comparison. It's not good, and this is NOT an appropriate time for a Governor who HAS done SOME good things to FOOLISHLY try to disarm responsible and conscientious owners of firearms. Hopefully I'll be able to tell you that nothing bad happens on the fourth occasion when I will have to decide whether to draw or not. (Wouldn't it be nice if that day never comes?)
I've stopped robberies against myself twice without firing a shot. Used a well working handgun. Both times the attacker left quickly after seeing the gun.
Also body language. If they see the look of fire in your eyes and they know you won’t hesitate if they give you a reason, that’ll usually do the trick with no shots fired.
Great video & interesting info. I’m in the trained & armed category seeing how I’m a member & follow you as well on the uscca side. That’s unbelievable how most crime is done with fake guns, less lethal firearms & or guns that are inoperable/unloaded. Though I’m never going to take that chance in second guessing or stopping to ask if it’s real & functioning. One of the cardinal rules in firearms/treat every gun as if it’s loaded, that includes others being carried by someone else. So if they portray it as real & using it in a threatening manner then I’m doing everything in my power to stop that threat.
Huge thanks for this video and I hope it not only spreads like wildfire but all of those involved in the justice system fully aware of these statistics! No one goes through necessary process have conceal carry hoping to harm anyone!
Absolutely, defend yourself with whatever means available. Your loved ones, your property and yourself, are sacred. There are no rules when you broke all the rules to start with. No quarter !
Great breakdown Tom. I think it comes down to each situation and what the available options are presented. It seems clear that the guns that are not recovered from shootings are fully functional and the criminal has cracked the how to get ammo code. That is the unknown part of the dataset, the gotaways from shootings.
Sit; exactly my point, as well...the statistics lack validity because they simply do not include successful crimes or criminals, and may give people an idea that they can be a "hero" in many more cases than they will actually face...misinformed courage can be deadly. Another sad point is that a firearm, purchased for self-defense, too often kills a spouse, or ex, or family member, or, way too often, used in a suicide...
@@lohikarhu734 How often is "too" often? Do you have any evidence except your anecdote or opinion? You don't like, or are terrified of guns, we get it. If your goal is to eliminate guns (the often unstated goal of all gun controllers) in the U.S. keep dreaming.
Any number used on the innocent is too many. What about the other side? How many killed after being disarmed is too many? Same answer, any number is too many. I know there are way more good people than criminals, so u support people responsibly carrying. Pepper spray is essential too.
@chrismcleod9748 In MY OPINION, I think that he is quoting "statistics" supplied by the ULTRA-LEFT-WING-SOCIALIST-LIBERAL-DEMOCRATS, for the purpose of keeping the Law Abiding Citizens from carrying firearms or other weapons for their own personal protection and their families protection !! They would rather spray bleach on the bloodstained crime scene than do the paperwork for a successful self-defense shooting !! Just MY OPINION here, and your opinion might differ from MY OPINION !!
Interesting video as always. In my experience the majority of firearms I took from lets say "not nice people" were not high quality but functional weapons. I would say over 95 percent. This was in Philadelphia between the years 1989 through 1996 when I worked the area. Here is another funny. I took the same firearm off the same person TWICE within a 8 moth period and was NEVER called to court or contacted by an prosecutor. The FBI was aware of this who came to speak with me about "stuff" but of course I didn't hear back about the dirt. Tom you do a great job and always pleased to watch your videos. Thank you sir.
Yes same guy same gun twice. First was a domestic disturbance and he was fleeing and second stop was a vehicle investigation. Never called to court or contacted by ADA.
I got a great grade in statistics in college and for 45 years relied on statistics in my job understanding the proper approach to litigation resolution. I have had IRAC, issue, rule, application so drummed into my head, it is an unconscious way of analyzing a situation. This is one of the best jobs analyzing the risks and rewards of carrying. In Florida, after 3 belligerent confrontations and a third with 2 guys 6" from my face ... until they heard the safety click off on the knife in my pocket, I now pocket carry. Now your 98% of threats leave when you draw is really telling when it comes to needing a certain caliber or round in the chamber. One further stat that would be interesting would be what percentage of concealed carriers have to draw their gun. For me it's a 380 with no round in the chamber and able to israeli rack unconscious. Now if I am one of those killed because I didn't have a round in the chamber, I like the quote from the priest when asked if he dies and finds out there is no god, what will he do. He replied, I won't tell anyone. Outstanding analysis, Tom. This has to be one of the best videos on guns I have seen.
Good stuff. Use the least lethal method you can to disengage and evade if possible. Otherwise respond with whatever source need to stop the threat. Good situational awareness will keep you out of harms way. If you must engage fight to survive.
I worked in a government office building for a number of years. Because of past incidents we received active shooter training. The phrase they taught was "run, hide, fight" As a last resort, fighting or going after the active shooter may just save your life. If you can run and get away. If you can hide from the perpetrator. If you have no other option, try to disable the shooter. My ex was in a dodgy area of down town Syracuse with her marine band friend and my daughter late at night after a concert. As they were getting ready to get into their car, they were accosted by a man with a knife. The marine band woman suddenly started running around in circles acting crazy and making noises. This startled the wood be attacker into fleeing. Apparently it was a tactic she had learned.
The statistics about the number of defensive gun uses in the U.S. is one of the strongest arguments against gun control in my opinion and needs to be broadcast as widely as possible.
Great information, I would suggest practicing with your personal carry firearm 3 or 4 times a year at a minimum shoot the old ammunition in your firearm so you will have fresh ammunition after you’ve properly cleaned your weapon lessening the possibility of misfires. If you should need to defend yourself a least you know it will function properly. And most important be certain you know when you can legally defend yourself and that if a round comes out of the gun your holding you are responsible for where the round goes. In most cases if a firearm is discharged in city limits someone has broken the law. Either a person your defending yourself against or a criminal is using a firearm to commit a crime. As a final note should you discharge your firearm I would only talk to your personal attorney before or during any investigation you will notice that a police officer does not talk about a shooting till after he’s being represented by counsel. You should do the same.
Great content. Statistics are a great way to help you pre-determine what you’re going to do, but that’s where they end. And a violent confrontation with a bad guy, if you’re armed, makes it an armed confrontation whether he’s armed or not, and you may have no idea whether he’s armed or not. Keep in mind that statistics also show, that most police officers that are shot are shot by their own gun, because the bad guy took it away at some point in the fight. So, for the average person to physically fight with a violent suspect, (who is most surely an experienced street fighter that will take you out quickly and shoot you with your own gun) in order to avoid shooting him and and possibly killing him, in an effort to keep yourself out of court and financial ruin ( in some states), has a very low probability of success for you. I live in Fl where we, by statute, have NO OBLIGATION TO RETREAT , and can legally by statute use deadly force if we feel that our life or the life of another is in imminent danger of death or great bodily harm. Even with those seemingly undeniable rights, I still worry about rogue leftist prosecutors and ambulance chasing attorneys taking my freedom away or ruining my financial existence. BUT, if my life, the life of a member of my family, or even someone that I do not know is threatened with eminent death or great bodily harm, I will stop the POS inflicting that harm in a second. I will deal with the consequences later. If I were to to do nothing while a family member, or an innocent other person, or lastly myself, is severely injured or killed by a violent thug (who statistically is probably a repeat offender), just being alive and financially viable, wouldn’t much be worth it anymore. Never forget, and God forbid never let the jury forget, that you didn’t ask for the violent confrontation. The bad guy POS brought it to you. So at that point, his injury or death becomes an occupational hazard for him. Should have choosing a different way of life. Lastly, if his gun is a fake or doesn’t work, that’s his problem, and I will thank him for his stupidity later.
Tom, Another Great Video & Info. I have had Guns pulled on me 3X (years ago) in Calif. I had no gun but scared those 3 guys so bad that they left. I have a look that my Dad told me when I was 17 that, "I have a look that would Scare A Grizley Bear". Not I am well trained and am Always Armed. Thankx 4 All the GOOD INFO.
Not being a mind reader I have to rely on training and instinct. Once the situation gets to condition red, full on self defense is a go. I don't even wand to delay by having to consider less than lethal options. Stop the threat!
Thank you Tom, this video was very informative. As you mentioned, the choice of where you live is very important. I split my time between my current home state of FL and my previous home state of CT. Night and day as to how self defense with a hand gun is treated.
I really like your videos, very informative. Unfortunately you don't know what statistic you are facing until it's over. Get the training you need to defend yourself against all of them. If a criminal is carrying a weapon of any kind I will meet force with force. A less than lethal option is a good idea to have as well, if you can safely deploy it. I have carried concealed for over 40 years and have had to draw my weapon over a dozen times, Luckily the Bad guy decided he didn't want to die those days so I have never had to fire. Just be sure you can live with your decisions as you will be held accountable for your actions.
Hurry up with the black market firearms. I am 79 and my wife is 81. We both have physical complications that prevents any serious resistance, not that earlier in my life would I even consider it since I have a CPL. I have broached this before with other so-called professionals and all they offer is train for your condition.🤣 🤣 🤣advise. Not positive I am hoping I can learn more from you as USCCA has not been supportive in the past and has not provided much regarding physically challenged persons. You cannot guess how much your posts help. Thank you ever so much for taking the time to do this.
We DEFINITELY NEED TO SEE AND HEAR MORE OF THESE TYPE OF VIDEOS!!!! Knowing these statistics make people feel more confident about carrying concealed!!!! These statistics will also sell more memberships to USCCA!!!!!
I appreciate this effort to shed life on a potentially dangerous scenario. Including the number of fatal encounters with an attacker would contribute to a better perspective than the 3% non fatal injury figure.
Incredible unbiased statistical analysis about the facts of self defense. As a friend put it, "I'd do that time standing on my head. At least I'll be alive."

@@samfisher9413 you don’t have a coin choice when someone attacks you. So yes, really.

True I was in EMS for 28 years, those taken to secondary locations seldom lived all the cases I remember here they died.
ANY time you have to consider going to a second location should be used fighting like hell in your current location.
Going to a second location almost always holds a much worse fate than what’s going to happen during the would be abduction.

I wouldn't either, I would act on the assumption I am about to be murdered.

The best defense is always a good offense. So Fight, Fight, Fight until you have destroyed the enemy because 1) They won't expect it, 2) your firearm will always be in fully operational condition and 3) A defender always fights harder than an attacker because there is more at stake..

Professional criminals spend a lot of time hurting people, and they’re good at what they do. But they’re not looking for opponents, only victims.

Hey Tom Grieve,
Incredible information Sir. Thank you so much. Facts you do not hear anywhere else.
Thanks!

Also, understand that past data doesn't predict the future. We have 2 really unprecedented stats, that is, we've never seen it before:
1. Fentanyl annual deaths exceeding 6-figures
2. Cartel incursions across the entire country
It's interested how impotent the lower thugs actually are, but there's a new breed of criminal and I would not underestimate them.
They say things like, "Objects can be replaced, but your life cannot."
While this is true on the surface, people think it means one thing when the company is telling you something else. They don't care if you get killed while complying. They will replace you and move on. What the company can't replace is LOST money when you fight back and possibly injure or kill the attacker in the process. Because that means investigations, court dates, etc, and by that point it becomes too expensive for the company.
Outstanding content. Thank you very much for factual data. Please keep more like this coming.
Thanks, will do!
I had doubts about EDC. Your report convinced me. Cheers 🍻
Great information that everyone NEEDS to know. Thanks for educating us and providing useful data/statistics to back up the info.
As someone involved in multiple personal attacks, the difference is mental preparation. Mind set.
Always fight back. Never, ever, surrender.
Excellent! Send this to every citizen, media pundit, every Court, DA, politician and every attorney on the planet
Pretty much simple steps,
1.Conceal carry if you can in your state.
Excellent show, Tom.
Both times I was dead stone cold looking at them. They knew I'd fire if necessary. @@GeneralSirDouglasMcA

You took the same gun off the same agent.
Yes same guy same gun twice. First was a domestic disturbance and he was fleeing and second stop was a vehicle investigation. Never called to court or contacted by ADA.
WONDERFUL information to have.... thank you from South Dakota - where we know how to hit a target.
Excellent stats! Surprising and eye opening. More like this please.

Good information to know. Confirms the validity of the "move, shoot, communicate" methodology.

Exceptional Report… This study should be expanded.
Here’s what I know for a fact, I am on my own first responder, no one can keep me more safe any given second of the day than I can.
This is 100% true! I'm Canadian and in my opinion, dialing 911 doesn't exist! Besides, here in Canada when seconds count, the police are hours away!
Great video and Thank You for this information
'BE POLITE, BE PROFESSIONAL,
BUT HAVE A PLAN TO KILL EVERYONE YOU MEET'. MARINE GEN. JAMES MATTIS QUOTE.
5 star quote if I ever heard one!
Really looking forward to your "black market" arms video!
I have a look that my Dad told me when I was 17 that,
"I have a look that would Scare A Grizley Bear". Not I am well trained and am Always
Armed. Thankx 4 All the GOOD INFO.
Not being a mind reader I have to rely on training and instinct. Once the situation gets to condition red, full on self defense is a go. I don't even wand to delay by having to consider less than lethal options. Stop the threat!
Stop the threat? How about eliminate the threat?
@garysnyder6020 STOP the threat and let the police deal with the CRIMINAL !!
Thank you, Sir. Will be passing this video around.
Thanks for the time you put into this analysis.
best firearms related video I've see all year
Thank you. Good information to write down and share with my gunphobic friends and legislators.
It’s not even a thought! I’m gonna WIN!💪🇺🇸💯🦅!!
