Hey, great review! The iPad Mini seems like the perfect option for those wanting a... tiny but mighty tablet! Sure, Apple might have missed a few upgrades, but at least we have enough space for our favorite drawings and apps! Keep it up!
With the rise of larger phones and folding devices, I believe we were fortunate to see one more refresh of the iPad Mini. When it originally launched, it sold over 80 million units in its first year, but now it struggles to sell just 5 million annually. I suspect Apple's margins on this product are low. Many other manufacturers have discontinued their mini tablets, and Apple could have chosen to do the same or kept the Mini 6 for another two years. I think Apple will continue to sell the iPad Mini for three more years, after which they may decide to end the line. Because of this, I plan to buy one, as it is likely to be the last version available.
Apple added the features that this iPad doesn't even need and they don't make sense for this particular model. This iPad just needed a display and a chip upgrade. And if they want to add more upgrade, they can bring back the headphone port too since it can still fit.
1. What's the big deal about having the pro features on iPad mini - having a better display, esp. 120Hz refresh rate, and M-series is the one thing they've wanted? Will iPad mini handle these features (in a small thermal envelope)? 2. Furthermore, having a keyboard case on the iPad mini would be a terrible experience, since this tablet has a smaller footprint than a 10.9" iPad! 3. For me, 10.9" iPad will be the best iPad, since AI is not a big deal most of the time (for some users).
The 60Hz refresh rate is a deal breaker for me, plus reviews are still mentioning the jelly scrolling issue which has been touched on- but not eliminated by Apple. For the price you're paying and the 'Apple tax' you expect these issues to be 100% sorted, especially in a product refresh.
Another PRO is 8GB RAM needed to run Apple Intelligence. Would like to have heard comments on Mini 6 trade-in value up to $230 and battery degradation of a 3 year old Mini 6 as factors to consider. Still on the fence to keep Mini 6 or upgrade

Hear me out. Ipad mini pro.
It needs to be made!
Already outdated 😅😅I mean what is that screen borders from 7 years ago
I feel that, but also how small can the bales be and still be comfortable for any grip… Without having accidental screen, touches and scrolls from our fingertips and palms
U gotta grab on to something,u know..
Amazon Fire HD tablet bezels lol
This is basically an iPad your kids. The tech in it is way too outdated except for the chip
Other then handheld gaming or cuteness/aesthetics this make less sense then either base/air or pro models.
It is a niche product mainly used by businesses for point-of-sale devices, aircraft, warehouses, and other companies.
Saying "It's fine" when it's not Is a cop out.
I would like an iPhone the size of iPad mini.
The ipohone also Being hand held, the camera is PERFECTLY positioned and its INfuriating none of you notice that its a single HAND HELD would you want to reposition the camera of the IPHONE? NO therefore same logic for ipad/
this is “a portably device”?
0:49 what are these guys doin in the back....
How is it already released?
It’s not tomorrow for real ( pretty sure)
Apple fan boys & girls need to be technological woke. 60hz in late 2024 is just insulting.
No Stage Manager and external display support, no care. That's why i didn't buy a Mini and bought a Z Fold instead, not to mention no OLED and no 120Hz.
Mini is $500, and the Fold 6 is $1800.
@@andyH_England 1) nobody pays MSRP for a Fold. 2) the Fold is also a phone so add the cost of an iPhone to the Mini.
A lazy painting by number iPad Mini- thst coats near as much as an iPad Air despite the three inferior to chip that has an unfinished AI.
apple keeps on pegging their customers, why do ppl even buy apple anymore
the form factor is perfect. My favourite iPad, in fact. I wanted to upgrade and get an additional one for my daughter. But no 120Hz and A17 chip: pass!
The next one is due in late 2027, so it is what it is. Samsung has no alternative, so if you need an 8-inch screen, keep your old one or buy this one.
60hz TRASH 🗑
A placeholder upgrade just enough for AI, while they work on the IPAD Fold....
It's better to buy a foldable phone
$679 + taxes in Canada 😂
Should have an M1 CPU not last year's phone CPU.
Look at those BEZELS! how that could be possible in 2024? 😅
In reality is just a shame for those who put their money on that lol
What's the point 👉🏾 .. this is a horrible update ... Wow ... 😂
Apple still insists on keeping it lower-tiered product. Still looks much as it always has - outdated. And overpriced esp for what you get. Maybe in another 5 years we'll get another disappointing update.
not even wifi 7
120hz?! Why Apple ?! Why?! A mini should least be like a mini pro like feature..
So what useable feature will Apple Intelligence add???? This device is antiquated and overpriced.
Seems very dated for 2024.. Definitely passing..
meh in 2024...😅
Air is much better
