You made me very happy the first time you recorded Buxtehude's passacaglia. Now I am beyond all measure happy for the second time. My deepest gratitude!
Thank you so much. Besides your performance being excellent, this whole series by Ruoshi Sun has been an inspiration for me to practice every day. The Bagge transcription, available on IMSLP, is a years worth of sight-reading practice.
This video is actually a MIDI demo, but I have recently recorded my own performance here: ruclips.net/video/v7Ci4GVuNKE/видео.html . I hope you'll like it!
This is most excellent!!! Many, many thanks ... I will most certainly make an effort to learn this favorite the way you transcribed.... when there's a will, there's a way!)))
The attempt to transcribe the opening chorus of BWV245 for piano is very honorable but also extremely demanding. This version here should be very difficult to play, which also explains the MIDI realization. In addition, the melodic tones of the right hand sound quite choppy here compared to the sustaining tones of the wind instruments and the choir in the original. Perhaps this problem could be alleviated by slowing down the MIDI a bit and adjusting more reverberation. Nevertheless, this piece does not seem to me to be well suited for a piano reproduction. With a church organ and its sustaining sounds you could probably get closer to the original.
PS: In search of an organ transcription I found this completely different approach for the piano. It's also not easy to play, but sounds a bit more fluid than your version. However, the comparison is not entirely fair, because an acoustic piano with more reverb is used there. ruclips.net/video/BPo6e5SLT60/видео.html
I appreciate your honest feedback. I fully agree that the sustain is an intrinsic issue with the piano. In this MIDI realization I added minimal pedal and reverb. Also note that I prefer a slower tempo (similar to the performance by the Netherlands Bach Society), which exacerbates the sustain problem. In other words, I could've chosen a faster tempo with ample pedal and reverb to improve the sustain, but that aspect was not at the top of my priority. An organ transcription would certainly address these problems that you pointed out, with the additional benefit of bringing the bass from the left hand to the foot pedal, but I don't play the organ and preparing an organ transcription is beyond my knowledge.
I forgot to notify you that my performance is now available: ruclips.net/video/v7Ci4GVuNKE/видео.html The "choppiness" here is not heard in the recording, which shows that it is indeed an artifact of my MIDI rendition and not with the transcription per se. My goal is to increase the tempo by at least 10% in a future release.
In the pinned comment you'll find a link to my recording of this piece with preparatory suggestions in the video description. It's playable but requires a lot of effort.
Thanks for your interest! I haven't uploaded it yet because doing so for each movement separately is cumbersome on IMSLP. I'll probably upload it when I'm done with the whole Passion, or at least after Part 1.
OK I understand. Still is there some chance I can pay you a certain amount of money and you send the score only of the first movement? Of course I promise not to share it with anyone. I'm just really eager to play the middle part (zeig uns durch deine Passion)... @@RuoshiSun

Yes, there are many difficult passages and I suppose each performer would need to figure out their own fingering. When I first completed this transcription I couldn't play it at all. Now I can play at 2/3 of my target tempo. I hope to share my performance later this year so stay tuned!

@@RuoshiSun Thanks for the info. Yes, the new self-played version does indeed sound better and represents a great pianistic achievement.
Fantastic! ❤❤❤
playing this is a nightmare, i tried 😅 excellent work in transcribing chorus lines and in breaking my fingers 😂

I think the tempo could be a little more moved, but it's very interesting and clear.❤ ❤❤
Fabulous transcription Ruoshi. Are you playing it yourself? It looks very very difficult to perform.
Can you send me a link to the sheet music ? I don't find it on IMSLP
