  • A big elephantbull approached us on the Molatedi road ,when staying at Mosetlha Bush Camp in the Madikwe NP. From the swagger and the continuous leaking of urine it was clearly visible that is was in full musth. Our guide Johnny wisely backed up.. it's not clever to be in the way of a musth elephant bull.

Bull elephants in musth have to drink increased amounts of water to replace all the fluids lost during musth. This was a beautiful bull, in his prime! 💟🐘💟

Is any of your footage available for licensing? If so, how do I get in touch with you?

This elephant is wearing a collar.

yes, that is correct. Some of the big bulls in Madikwe are collared for research purposes. This one is still around in the park and was again
in musth just a week ago when we visited.

RonsSafariChannel I would imagine you'd have to sedate the elephant to place the collar. I'd also imagine sedating an elephant would be very tricky.
