      I'll let you into a little secret... I've heard that these crash bars work well after the owner was showing off doing skid turns and accidently dropped it 😂😂. You're right though, definitely happy I have them

    Just found you as you commented on my IG post. Same here, I bought my bars last week with the bike but they’re not due here till November and I’ve got loads of denali gear to attach. I’ve also had some mounts made which fit in the same position as the KTM light pods too. My bike will be on a stand motorcycle live this year so be sure to pop by and say hi.

      Thanks for commenting over here and the follow! I've been looking forward to you getting your hands on this. The GS's look incredible. Chatted with Denali, they are working on the updated connector for the CanSmart, so I've been patiently waiting. Will pop by at MCN live.

    Thanks for the video! I have a couple of questions for you: what is your opinion around to use just this crush bar and not the upper one. ?? How have been the performance in the off road???

    • @SamVBikes
      @SamVBikes  2 года назад +2

      I've dropped the bike a few times on and off road, and the lower crash bars have done a great job. No scratches on the bike at all apart from on the crash bars and the hand-guards. Upper crash bars will give you more protection, but the lower ones have been very good! I have not had any high speed crashes (thankfully!) so can only talk for low speed, or dropping

    • @SamVBikes

      I'm eyeing up the Outback Motortek ones. They have made a full upper and lower crashbar set which are tested to destruction. So I think I'll go that way as long as they aren't ludicrously expensive!

    Hello Sam, I have the same 2021 SAS. This is my first KTM , and i have a noise that is driving me bonkers. When the engine is warm, there is a rattle noise from the engine that goes away when I pull the clutch in. I can feel the rattle in the clutch handle. Does yours do the same rattle? I even removed the clutch cover to see if there is anything wrong, and nothing seems to be moving. Only thing I can think of is the push rod. Even went to the dealer, and they said it is normal for a KTM.
    Also, compared to any other bike i have filled with gas, i am having trouble understanding the procedure in the manual. It says do not fill to top twice, as it destroys the carbon canister. Thing is if i only fill it up to top and it starts to drain into the lower tank, it does not seem to be filled up on the dash. Have you figured out how to fill up completely without ignoring the manual?
    Thanks.

    • @SamVBikes
      @SamVBikes  3 года назад +1

      Hey, I have exactly the same with the clutch rattle. It's not very loud but definitely noticeable. More noticeable when the bike is cold. I believe it's because it has heavy duty clutch plates/springs because it seems to do it on any bike with a powerful engine (not inline4). Ive noticed the same on ducatis, big engined triumphs, Harleys etc. I did a load of research and people are saying it happens on the 1190/1290 engine and its just what it does. If yours is really loud, the centre nut might not be tight enough. I know they can get loud when they are worn, so lots of burnouts etc but I doubt that's what you've done.
      As for filling it up, I was never told not to fill it to the top so have just done so from new. If petrol destroys part of the petrol tank, that's a massive design flaw in my eyes. I always fill up to the base of the metal filler ring and have never had a problem. I would assume leaving the tank completely full when storing it might have an effect on the carbon canister but I doubt anything will happen if youre regularly using the bike. Hope that helps!

    Hi Sam
    Great job on the channel, the content is brilliant. I picked up my new 1290 SAS on Thursday and crash bars are due soon to be fitted by KTM dealer on first 600 mile run in service.
    Wanted to ask have you experienced any high speed wobble at 110 plus? Mine is suffering badly at that speed and don't quite know what is causing it.....??

    • @SamVBikes
      @SamVBikes  3 года назад

      Thank you Nic! Appreciate the kind words and congrats on the new bike. Mine is quite sensitive on the bars at high speed but I don't really get any wobble. I found bumping the rear preload up a bit does help with the front end going light (around 70%). Another YTer called Ricardo Yeep rebalanced his wheels and found that solved his wobble... they were slightly unbalanced from factory. Hope that helps!
