Cooks in small local restaurants are on another level. In the bigger places you're often doing one thing over and over at your station, especially if you are still starting out. Cooks in small restaurants have to be able to do everything at once. Much respect.
I've worked both, the big name place is much harder. The small local gig is at ur own pace and balanced. Notice nobody told him hurry up....or asked where this or that is after 90 seconds.

Its just years of practice. You're looking at the final version of a skill. Start with small victories in the kitchen and work your way up. You could be at this level in less than a year.

as a boh worker, you definitely are hearing a phone, either from the front of the restaurant or from someone whos working and cant hit it immediately. if you don't hear a phone go off in an hour, it's offputting
take it from a person who worked in the restaurant industry on all levels for 8 years,..... you are absolutely fast and it only comes when you are at the top of your game.......... but you need MUSIC in the kitche man...... not loud but music is necessary to make you groove too while working ....... it makes me happy to feed people to cook ill literally dance while cooking.... Over the course of about 3 to 6 months ive been watching you its made we want to learn a lot more about cooking. What would you suggest to someone who has a very basic knowledge of cooking to start to learn and progress more
You do a great job. Cooking is very, very hard work. You need to see if I can get you a helper to take care of things like putting the sandwiches together. Or at least. Keeping you Stocked With bacon and sausage and such.
