      Or you just found a Vikings fan who's bitter about losing his favorite team's quarterback so he keeps talking nonsense. If the Vikings wanted Kirk Cousins they should have offered him more money. If the Vikings wanted a top 3 pick they should've tanked like the Commanders and Patriots did. They didn't though. This "swapping first round picks" idea is patently stupid. It will never happen and everyone but Florio and Vikings fans know it. Florio keeps saying "what do the Vikings want?" The NFL isn't going to levy any penalty on one team because of what another team wants. Honestly... How stupid can this commentary get? Btw... Athletes say incorrect things all the time. They are athletes. Not linguists. Is that literally the entire basis of Florio's claim of "blatant tampering?" What an athlete said once? How dumb.

      @@TheKozmoz Of course not. Florio was making asinine suggestions like the Falcons would have to swap their top 8 overall first round pick to the Vikings and his logic behind it was "that's what the Vikings would want." If the Falcons do get any kind of penalty it would be no higher than a 3rd round pick which is basically nothing and would've made tampering worth it if that's in fact what happened. Florio is suggesting all these absurd penalties because he's letting his bias as a Vikings fan seep into his journalism instead of being objective like journalists are supposed to. He said "blatant" tampering based on comments an athlete said once. Whether tampering occured or not that is nowhere near proof of blatant tampering. Could the Falcons have tampered? Sure. I would even go as far to say that they probably did because tampering is rampant throughout the NFL. A comment made one time by an athlete isn't proof of "blatant tampering" by any stretch though. From the reports I've read Cousins may have talked to a trainer exactly 1 day before he was supposed to. A trainer. Not a GM or coach or owner. 1 day early. Not talking for 3 weeks like some people have suggested. Speaking one time to a trainer 1 day early is extremely common in the NFL. The idea that the Falcons would have to swap their top 10 first round pick with the Vikings is totally asinine and Florio is only saying crap like that because he lets his bias as a Vikings fan negatively affect his ability to be objective as a journalist.

    • @TheKozmoz
      @TheKozmoz 5 месяцев назад

      @@matthew01234 Some people believe that this is an unprecedented situation considering that Kirk is scheduled to make $180 million and the Vikings were making an attempt to resign Kirk. That’s more money than Jerry Jones paid for the Cowboys. The NFL could make an example out of the Falcons and there could be a severe punishment. QB is the most important position in football and having a trainer meet with a QB to give you a clear medical evaluation gives you a big advantage in knowing what to offer such a player as far as money. I believe you’re ignoring some facts so that you can make a criticism of some good journalism. It will definitely be suspicious if the NFL does not look for a digital footprint to either confirm or deny the tampering allegations. Time will tell.

    • @matthew01234
      @matthew01234 5 месяцев назад +1

      @@TheKozmoz My point is the Falcons will very obviously be keeping their first round pick. It's only Vikings fans who think there is any chance they won't. I have spoken to a ton of different people about this situation. Most people think the worst possible penalty is something in the third round with others saying it won't be that severe and even some suggesting no penalty at all. The only people who ever even suggest it will be a a first rounder are all *100%* Vikings fans who are just hoping that's the case for no other reason than it is what would help their team the most. Not because it's actually logical to believe such a thing. That's all Florio is doing. Hoping the Vikings get the #8 pick because he's a Vikings fan but then throwing it out there like it's realistic. That's not "good journalism." That's compromised and biased journalism which is the exact opposite of good journalism.

Now if he’s been injured with, say, an Achilles tear, it’s OK if he’s had time to heal. But we want a QB who wants to be here, has excellent stats, and preferably has family in the area to help his transition to the Atlanta Falcons, a truly-storied franchise.” I don’t think there’s any tampering there, Florio.

    I watched the Cousin's press conference you mentioned and am having trouble understanding "blatant tampering by the Falcons". He doesn't mention the Falcons ever calling him, only him calling the Falcons. What if, let's say, there is a record of a 10 minute call between Cousins and Flowery Branch? And the receptionist reports in an affidavit that after answering the phone Mr. Cousins was put on hold and 10 minutes later someone picks up and says "I'm sorry Mr. Cousins, please communicate any questions or concerns through your agent. Have a nice day!" None of that is against the rules. It would only be an issue if the Falcons called Cousins and talked for 10 minutes. There have already been statements given by Cousins and the Falcons reporting he was embellishing a great deal during the press conference out of excitement and a desire to praise the staff of his new organization. And the Mooney phone call was Kirk's own decision after learning about the Falcon's interest though his agent. None of that is against the rules either. You sure 'blatant' is the right word?

And the ones that are complaining about tampering are the same ones who were ready to see kirk go. Whatever you're smoking, Vikings fans, stop. You sound delusional. Florio... you stirred this garbage up from the start, as a Vikings fan yourself. You're just bitter you have to see Sam Darnold as your qb this year and have to start over in the draft at qb. I'd also point out the Cardinals/Eagles situation (which was a bigger deal than this) only resulted in a third round pick swap and a fifth going to the eagles, not a first round pick swap. Florio is being ludicrous with his analysis here.

A pick before #5 ensures JD, DM, or JJ. Waiting until pick #8 does nothing toward leveraging a better offer for that pick.

    In Rich Hill Trade Value Points, this is 717 for (358+245+121+56=780)
    And if Vikings can flip 11 to 8, should they offer 8,23, 2025R1 for 2?
    In Rich Hill Trade value points, this is 717 for (406+245+121=772)
    If you were Vikings, would you do this?
    If you were WAS would you accept this?
    I am hopeful you will have at least a short vid in which you and perhaps a guest ask this question.
    I have watched the Vikings channels and the fans seem willing.
    I have watched the WAS channels and the fans are all into QB QB QB QB and ignoring OT OT, which WAS did NOT address in FA.
    With an 8 WAS could draft an OT and have capital left to draft another good OT. I see this as much more transforming than finding a blade of grass QB better at running for his life.

    To me I think there are only three QBs in this draft that have a chance at greatness: Caleb, Jayden and JJ. After that it’s pretty dubious and some team will give up huge draft capital to acquire Drake, who throws ducks like his name, fittingly. So I think the Vikings might have to be in at least the top-four picks to have a shot. I haven’t looked at draft order for awhile but one-two is almost surely Caleb-Jayden - I actually think Jayden is the best pure passer in this draft myself - but I can’t remember who goes three. But if I’m that third team I’m talking with the Vikings GM right now to get his first-born child and rob his future drafts too. (I think Sharean is misfiring here talking about Purdy. Purdy just happened to be a really good quarterback who, for some reason, was vastly underrated. Lightning doesn’t always strike twice. I mean, you saw it with Tom Brady and you saw it with Purdy but it’s a rare event. It doesn’t mean it happens this draft too.)
