I've lived in Washington, DC, one hour from Baltimore for 38 years and have never seen one of these birds. I did see a gold finch for the first time last year though, it was amazing.
I played your video outside and all my Orioles went nuts all around me!! how marvellous! at one point I couldn't tell, which is your video, which are the real birds!! what an experience!! thank you for recording and posting ☺
Good job keeping track of that bird, as it flitted from one spot to another! Loved watching it sing! I've only seen a Baltimore Oriole twice in my yard, & just once at my feeder.
Great video! I kept hearing this particularly lovely birdsong the last few days and finally saw the bird on the feeder. I was able to confirm its identify with your video! 😁
I wish I had orioles where I live... I love those birds. They are all on the east coast and I’m on the west. Someday I’ll be traveling to the east just to see these birds.
If you live anywhere on the West Coast or west of the Rockies, you have the Bullock's Oriole. If you live in So. Cal, look for the Scott's Oriole and Hooded Oriole. Hope this helps.
Unlike most of our birds that are restless and hyperactive (warblers, gnatcatchers, kinglets), the Baltimore Oriole is much larger yet still very active. Great job in continuing to keep the camera on him.
I had some Baltimore Orioles , in the Spring and I got a feeder and put grape jelly on it and they came a couple times a day .. now I don't see them .did I do something wrong 😥 I even got an orange holder still nothing ‼️‼️ I love them they are so pretty.and I was thrilled when I saw my first one 😥😥
thank you so much for the video my friend. It's a great video. I have had Orioles coming to my house here in South Central Kansas for about 11 years my neighbor's first started attracting them and then once my sister told me how to do it they started coming to my house and had been coming back every year I think they know that they can depend on us so they always come back to the same family to raise their families they just now going back to the South for the winter and it's September 19th so I will be waiting for them to come back in mid-april. Thank you again for the video that we can watch all winter long while Our Feathered Friends are away. Kathy Thompson
@@uhill74They color orange attracts them. They love Grape Jelly & orange halves or slices. Put the oriole feeder where they can noticed from above. They're tricky tho...I got one to come once but they havent come back again, yet.
Great video footage. I have a few that come here’s in eastern Wi. One pair actually stayed around all summer. I hope we get more this year and they stay too.
The problem with this recording is that the yellow throat , a warbler, is interfering with the song of the Baltimore oriole. The loud” witchety witchety, witchty” song almost drowns out the Baltimore Oriole’s song at the beginning of the recording.
Along with the Baltimore Oriole I hear Gray Catbirds, Common Yellowthroats, American Crows, Eastern Kingbirds, Blue Jays, Scarlet Tanagers, and Song Sparrows. I also hear a warbler that sounds like a Chestnut-sided Warbler, but warblers songs are hard for me, it may be a Magnolia Warbler, or maybe an American Redstart (warbler).
Great audio. About a week ago I heard this vibrant bird call, but couldn't actually see the bird.. Luckily I kept watching out window, and saw this flash of bright yellow.. I didn't recognize the bird, but after doing some research, realized it was a Baltimore Oriole. I hear them every day now. But I'm unsure of what they eat .
Yes, I do realize the name Baltimore is misleading. Might as well call them the Toronto or Montreal Orioles if you want to continue that misleading trend. Personally I prefer the Orange Joy Oriole, but I don't qualify as a name-giver.
They have such a beautiful song. Saw a couple this morning as the sun reflected off their wings as they flew.
We have two of them in our backyard and I absolutely love them ❤❤in Cavan Ontario Canada 🇨🇦
They’re one ☝🏻 of the most beautiful 🤩 birds and sing amazing songs ❤❤
I've been searching for a certain birdcall and I think this is the one. I went to visit my family and Iowa and instantly recognized it.
That's such a beautiful bird that I always love to see.
I know real spring has arrived when I hear Baltimore Orioles singing. Love them!
Baltimore? Really?
My mom, 92 yrs old loves orioles. I played this for her 💜💜💜
I live just north of lake ontario in Deseronto i came home today to find 10-15 of these birds in my yard. What a sight love them.
Naval oranges grape jelly and nectar is what they love

Put out some grape jelly in a saucer and also some orange slices in your yard and you'll see lots and lots of them.
They're called Baltimore oriels after Lord Baltimore because his banner colors were the same as the birds if I remember correctly.

Just saw your reply, thank you very much. Frank

The baseball team or just one member?
I'm betting it was the catcher or the shortstop at your feeder. What's in it? Beer?
The quintessential summer bird song! 🧡🖤🧡
Such a beautiful sound. I have an oriole that comes to my feeder every time we change an orange.
Brought several birds to the feeders and trees outside! Thank you!😸
Thank you very much

Lovely bird, great video.
Great sound and pic. Can't wait to see this one in my yard. Saw the Hooded Oriole while in Cancun week after Mom's Day
Как приятно слушать эту прекрасную птицу и есть такая возможность видеть ее благодарю
Thanks for posting. Brings Orioles to my feeders😃
Thats amazing Frank! I don't like cottonwoods but every year Baltimores make a nest in our cottonwood! 😋
Lovely clear image and even better sound quality, great film. Many thanks.
Thank you
Beautiful Bird Just saw one today after hearing him singing out my window
You've made my cat very happy. She loves your birds.
thank you
these guys have a serious sweet tooth! Suckers put me in the poor house every year keeping them in grape jelly!

I love Bullock's Orioles and hope to see them sometime when I go to the West in springtime.

thank you
Very nice bird and sound
Wonderful video!!
thks so much for taking the time to treat us to this. Great audio. Love how the males call sounds like a jazz riff alla Eric Dolfy.
Thanks for the video it attracts lots of Orioles to my feeders
Where do you place the feeders?

Just saw your note, thank you very much. Frank
Any tips on attracting them. I have been trying for years!

Wow great video luv it..
Yours is the only video I can use to get them to come in. A lot of competition in the city...
Yeah this seems to be the call I hear most often. The ones on the bird apps and sites seem to be less common songs.
Gorgeous! In the yard growin' up were three mature buckeye trees, in the tallest of which he'd perch tippitop to deliver an early evening serenade. 🧡

i play this while oriels are eating oranges on my deck ♡
just heard one, its so distinct it sticks out and i was like "i gotta figure out what it is" so now ik what bird to look for when i hear this
loving there color feathers
There is a Common Yellowthroat there also.
Nice example of a Common Yellowthroat warbler as well!
I hear them all Summer down but didn't know who I was hearing.
Is that a yellowthroat I hear in the background? :) Great song capture for the oriole!
wow! good going!
Cool 😎dude
Awesome video!

Precioso
make a lonely man happy
GOOD
By the way is that a boy?
Just can’t get them to my house in middle TN.
Me neither. They fly over but never come down for a stay.
Baltimore? Are you saying you have some specific variety of bird that comes from Maryland, or are you renaming all orioles "Baltimore Orioles"???
its Adley Rutschman
Love the bird, hate that call. Find it the most annoying bird call. 430 AM, I just groan. I would take a crow any day.

what's the other bird ?
I am not sure, have a few pictures of it and I think a few videos. I will check it out.

And a black capped chickadee
