    People criticising his playing- do you understand anything about playing live? You mess up, you keep playing! What do you want him to do? Stop and restart the phrase because he pressed a wrong note?

      The conclusion is very clear. Those who can actually play the song never experienced the same way as those who cannot play any instruments. They are worried about notes and perfection and criticism about the performance, and they never really enjoy the way us mortals let every note leaks through every crack in our soul. No, musicians never shed a tear with this. They suffer the music.

      EwaT Piano, an encore is by definition unannounced, so there's no way for a concertgoer to prepare by listening to recordings in advance. But common sense should work well enough. If you don't know the piece well, wait for the performer to lower his/her hands, or wait for applause from a substantial part of the audience; there's no prize for being first to clap!

I had to listen his music for about 6 months to be able how to understand this kind of sounds. This man created such a masterpiece "Nocturne" should be always saved for the generations.

    People are acting like such snobs about his interpretation, I mean yeah, we get it, he messed up a bit on that particular section, but he pulled it off incredibly well. It's frustrating that people only choose to point out the negatives in order to make them look smart, but why is nobody pointing out the fact that he has a really beautiful and crisp sound or an amazing control and technique, especially for an 18 year old at the time?
    You people need to stop being so harsh, unless you can do better than that, and given the circumstances (it was an encore, for God's sake; it's not like this was taken from a CD that he had recorded in a studio with no audience), I really don't think you can.
    That being said, it might not be the best interpretation of this piece and you cannot compare it to Rubinstein's or Engerer's or Olssohn's or any other "well-known" ones, but that's only because the *context* of every performance is different. Just think about that.

    Those trills are sublime, the runs are so clear, the mazurka section is at a perfect tempo, the fall of the fourths has emotional intensity. I think this is my favourite version.

    A surprising number of people do not like this, so I can only assume it is envy.

    • @77733oleg

      I''m afraid it's far from being the main reason.

      Which is?

    • @77733oleg
      @77733oleg 9 лет назад +1

      Tim Fouraker Here you are: some " educated" persons have pathological hatred towards classical music; some of them don't like this particular performer.And there's a numerous group of trolls who dislike everything they watch:).

    • @slaphaddalztick
      @slaphaddalztick 9 лет назад

      Not sure about the trolls, as I doubt such people would even be watching something like this, so it must be down to a proportionally large number of music enthusiasts who do not like this particular pianist, for whatever reason that may be.

      Tim Fouraker Not quite.Trolls poke their noses everywhere and no matter they watch or no, they will always thumb down.I know this kind:).

    What an absolutely divine rendition of this piece, totally enthralled me! Timing, dynamics faultless.
    Those trills are so hard to perfect, for absolutely every pianist I ever heard. He got them all and absolutely nailed some of them! And the long fast run that turns the piece from intermediate difficulty to really very hard - also nailed - but with perfect touch and musicality.

    I thought it was excellent. Very cleanly played, not too rushed and very elegant and beautiful dynamics.

    For all of you criticizing about a “mistake” here the conclusion is very clear. Those who can actually play the song never experienced the same way as those who cannot play any instruments. They are worried about notes and perfection and criticism about the performance, and they never really enjoy the way us mortals let every note leaks through every crack in our soul. No, musicians never shed a tear with this. They suffer the music.
