People criticising his playing- do you understand anything about playing live? You mess up, you keep playing! What do you want him to do? Stop and restart the phrase because he pressed a wrong note?

@@Yellowstone300 Yeah. He did really well. People always try to act like they are experts and always try to point out people's mistakes in everything as if they are perfect themselves.
The conclusion is very clear. Those who can actually play the song never experienced the same way as those who cannot play any instruments. They are worried about notes and perfection and criticism about the performance, and they never really enjoy the way us mortals let every note leaks through every crack in our soul. No, musicians never shed a tear with this. They suffer the music.
This is one of my favourite Chopin nocturnes. Despite some of the comments by the trolls in this thread, I think he played it very nicely. The piece was so serence and gentle. I found it to be a very emotional performance. I am playing this at my Christmas recital and draw inspiration from his performance.
A million thanks Jan. You made me happy and made my day with this Chopin's Nocturne so beautifully played. I'm 80 years old but your music makes me feel younger and happier each time I hear you. Keep going, young man and may God bless, protect and keep you in the highest range of His love.
Excellent interpretation, feeling nervous is a sign of not being arrogant, but humble and simple. Playing Chopin is one of the most complicated things for pianists, and this young man does it extraordinarily.
Chopin... Even though I am Polish, I've somehow dropped into his music now... When I'm 35 yo. Perhaps I had to be mature enough to get it ... That scale towards the end. Measure 48. He played it so well. I have problems playing that scale at the accuracy and speed he does in this piece. I think it is one of the most beautiful Nocturnes Chopin ever composed.
Tamir Burstein That was the piece for me where i really had to get the whole 2 hand thing also, took my a long time to learn, but after that you won't really have a problem.
Ok... Mom is crazy over the left hand... I can never seem to get it right! I have a competition on this in 1 one month, and I can only play up to measure 20 both hands!!!!😭😓😞😨😰😓😩😭😪😫😫

Now i am seriously shocked. I heard the C-sharp minor from many including the very classical best but i was not mesmerized like this time. It is like Chopin was sitting next to him and playing it as chopin wanted. BRAVO !!!
People are acting like such snobs about his interpretation, I mean yeah, we get it, he messed up a bit on that particular section, but he pulled it off incredibly well. It's frustrating that people only choose to point out the negatives in order to make them look smart, but why is nobody pointing out the fact that he has a really beautiful and crisp sound or an amazing control and technique, especially for an 18 year old at the time? You people need to stop being so harsh, unless you can do better than that, and given the circumstances (it was an encore, for God's sake; it's not like this was taken from a CD that he had recorded in a studio with no audience), I really don't think you can. That being said, it might not be the best interpretation of this piece and you cannot compare it to Rubinstein's or Engerer's or Olssohn's or any other "well-known" ones, but that's only because the *context* of every performance is different. Just think about that.
