Hello, there are guns that easily change ammunition, which is known as lead, this can influence the groups by continuously varying weights, brands, perhaps doing the whole process with a single model of slug would help in your search, greetings and thanks.
I always learn from your shows. However , harmonicas aside I want to drive my .22 Maverick 700mm hard as possible for hades, jsb heavies and h and n 23 grn( jsb 25 grn ) slugs as hard as I can to 100 m. I ve found 885,910,940 fps respectively. still working out jsb slugs they are not playing as they should mostly based on your findings. My request is does the new carbon barrel sleeve insert make any difference to harmonics/ accuracy and worth buying as so cheap really. Keep ripping Gert
Yes the carbon fibre sleeve does play a role in harmonics, it actually reduces the big harmonic nodes into smaller ones, in essence better groupings all around, yes fine tuning still needed but improved accuracy across all speeds. With regard to the JSB KO's, my best groupings were around 935fps with the older STX liner in .216 , the .216 doesn't like the Superior heavy liner that much, rather use the .217's for the heavy liner. A mate of mine shoots the 216's at 1050fps out of a Mk3... I can't seem to get them tp group at that speed out of my barrel. The JSB's can be shot at lower speeds as well, down to 870fps. Happy plinking.
the 26gr are growing on me, my Mk I loves them, they don't use to much air in my setup so my shot count is excellent. My gun is setup to shoot 30gr, but it only takes 2 click and the 26gr's are ready to rumble, need to do a little harmonic tuning and they will be good to go, my gun is setup for the Javelins currently, still have some stock to shoot out before I switch. Doing a lot of 50m pet control with the Javelins and just love the popping sound. lol. Like a naughty boy. Took down two geese at 110m with them 3 weeks ago (30gr UnKnowns)
Once again, tune the gun to get consistent FPS using chronograph with sorted ammo and then barrel harmonics ! Will be far easier when FX barrel harmonic tuner is available.
@@AimSmall Something often lacking is consistent, sorted ammo and a well tuned consistent rifle ! Barrel harmonic tuning is pointless unless the ammo and rifle are consistent ! Something also lacking is proof of the shooters consistency ! How many shooters have you seen using a SCATT electronic trainer ? If they did, we would know whether it is the rifle or the shooter that is at fault ! I find it amazing how many claim to be excellent shooters, but don’t win the competitions ! They claim it was the gun ! Well use a SCATT and prove it !

@@AimSmall As well as shooting, I am a sailor and while you can put a good sailor in a crap sailboat and they can still win due to skill, experience and consistency ! The same doesn’t apply to shooting ! A crap rifle with crap ammo will will always produce crap results no matter how good the shooter ! @@tyrantwitness2482 To each his own. If you are not a competition shooter why waste a lot of money and ammo. To properly tune a gun you need a serious amount of ammo, it all adds up. If money and time wasn't an issue it would have been very easy. My philosophy is all about enjoying the shooting I do, yes I do competition shooting as well where I will weigh the pellets before big events, the rest of the time the misses are more due to skill and experience than pellet error. HI Jenny, except for being slightly more steady versus my wobbly table it will make no difference. Unfortunately the prone position and my bad back isn't working, thus lying down and shooting is not an option for me.
Happy Easter to you and yours. Great videos.

Nope, the brand name is Actually Unknown Slugs, made in South Africa.

Is that the best grouping or can it be better boss?
Can do much better with fine tuning
