  • Former soldier Rob describes how the support of Op COURAGE: The Veterans Mental Health and Wellbeing Service has empowered him to take control of his journey to recovery following traumatic experiences during his armed forces career.
He initially accessed the Veterans’ Transition, Intervention and Liaison Service, referred to as TILS in the video. This was followed by support from LYPFT’s Complex Treatment Service (CTS).

It's a postcode lottery, I've spent 3 years 7 months sofar trying to get TILS in my area to help me, and 11 years before that trying to get combat stress to help me with the correct treatment after diagnosed with PTSD. A TILS team out of my area is trying to get my local TILS to help.

Thanks for getting in touch Mark. Op Courage will be able to advise once they have your form and are ready to assess your individual cirumstances. In the meantime there is some useful info on the TILS website www.cntw.nhs.uk/services/veterans-services-hartside-st-nicholas-hospital/ and also they have produced a range of self-help leaflets web.ntw.nhs.uk/selfhelp/
