  • The Earthquake® Victory™ Rear Tine Tiller features counter rotating tines. This feature, along with its powerful 212cc engine, allows it to aggressively dig in unforgiving soil. Additionally, Victory™ features 'Instant Reverse'. Simply pull the lever at the user position and easily walk the tiller backwards. There's no shifting necessary, unlike competitor units.

What is the black knob behind the motor sticking up on the platform between the wheels for?

Hi Mary, I believe you are referring to the drag stake. Its purpose is to control the tilling depth of the tiller. The lower the drag stake, the shallower the tilling. Pull the drag stake all the way up in order to achieve max tiling depth!

Tiller tends to discharge soil from the sides f the tiller box instead of the rear. Any solution for this? I own one of these tillers and while it's good at tilling it tends to leave trenches with soil piled in 2-3" high x 2-3" wide hills after consecutive passes, which must be raked to smooth. My old 7055 Earthquake tiller had standard rotating tines and left a much smoother garden surface after consecutive passes.

Hi Richard, As you have mentioned, this is a symptom of the tine directions of the Victory. Since the tines rotate counter to the wheel direction, the tiller is perfect for deep tilling and breaking new ground. However this does tend to leave those trenches on the sides. Standard rotating tines would leave a smoother surface. You can try to minimize these trenches by setting the drag stake lower and lower and lower until you get the results you are looking for!

You no longer manufacture a standard rotating tiller? I really liked the last one I had. I mainly use this tiller for secondary tillage of walkways in my garden. I have a larger tiller for primary tillage. Also, I mostly till 1 - 2" maximum depth when cultivating walkways.
Maybe I should rebuilt the gear box in my old tiller and return this one...?

@@richardkremer8472 We manufacture a Dual Direction Tiller Called the "Pioneer™" that can be switched from Standard Rotating Tines to Counter Rotating Tines depending on your application. We also manufacture Front Tine Tillers with standard rotating tines.

@@earthquakeoutdoorpowerequi7344 I have liked the shaft drive tillers from you in the past because they are simple, light, and effective work horses. I'm disappointed you discontinued the SRT version. It was a very nice machine and lasted probably over 3000 hrs, I kept replacing the engine and belts, welded the handle bars when the cracked, and replaced a time, but the gear box was very dependable and long lived.
