This is the first time I have watched one your videos. I have been in a chair for 45 years. I don’t get around as well as used to. I’ve run into all these problems. They also have most of the beds too damn high for someone who has trouble lifting themselves up high. Last time we stayed out of town the bed was about 10” higher than my chair. I can’t lift myself that high anymore, I have arthritis. Shoulders aren’t what they were when I was 21 years old. Luckily they had a good man in maintenance and he made something that could work. Thank God for smart people
I have no complaints. Your videos are great. I’m impressed with the amount of experience you have in a five-year period. Some people don’t learn these things it takes a lot longer to get the techniques correct. It’s really great what your doing
In the U. S. I have never seen two "ADA" rooms that are alike. Sinks too high to use, beds too high to get into. Doorways too narrow, bathrooms inaccessible. These rooms are typically dirtier, smellier, & I'm talking cigarette smoke stinky. The beds are worn out and these rooms are often in the noisiest part of hotels. I have found opting for a large 2 queensize bed hotel room often is the best option. I bring a spare folding wheelchair to put in the shower that I don't care if it gets wet. I applaud you calling them out. And I empathize with your frustration. Been there.
You're so kind to bring your extra chair. If they don't have one in the shower for me I will sometimes drag the office chair into the shower, doesn't matter if it is upholstered fabric. lol the vindictive side of me shines in these moments
@@ProTipsForParas don't youehave to pay for the chair aftes that? What if your husband wants to sit? You make his seat unusakle. Perhaps askeif they have a stool of plastic before? Till now l didn”t know that there ARE not slippering holders for disabled in bath! Here in a reha - house it weren't better than that you showed! And they cdouldn't help and moaned because l had a chair in bathroom! They couldn't help me cauz there only were 2 nurses in the morning to take care for over 100 persons! A reha where l had to write that l could do nearly all without help! Yes, if things are done well l can! But there no chance! It was near home so every second day a wonderful girl friend of mine came in the afternoon to help me having a shower! I cried a lot there! It was a reha extra for peöple after getting new artificial joints, with and without wheelchairs! They extra wrote wheelchair users are wellcome! There l got a rollator for inside the shower!

I use a wheelchair by my self. I don’t want to deal with the „knowledge“ of other people. I build my own van to have everywhere everthing I need. That’s my solution for this problem. I stayed in so many hotels and the problems you have is only the tip of the iceberg.
This was painful and irritating to watch. When the ADA laws came into effect in the US I was working as a Director of Loss Prevention for a major hotel chain located in Minnesota. At days end I went to the front desk and checked into an ADA room, even though able bodied. The purpose was to see if our housekeeping department was compliant. I encountered pretty much everything you did. Drapery rods to high, providing you could get to them as a chair was in the way. Door knobs you couldn't open with a closed fist, towel shelves placed to high, shower head left in the high position, door peepholes had only one high peephole instead of one high and one low. Drain and water pipes not insulated, shower entry ramp instead of a threshold with a lip. etc. After some tactful, well maybe not so much, we retrained our staff, then did spot checks. Also spent a ton of money making the elevators compliant with lower buttons, Front Desk compliant with one station lowered to comply with ADA and so forth. Surprisingly, we actually picked up conventions and travelers with disabilities. A win/win for all. No excuse for what you encountered.
What a great insight into how difficult it is when trying to do what the average person takes for granted. I broke both feet years ago and only had to be in a wheelchair for 3 months and I found out VERY quickly that my life as Im used to doesn't suit my part-time disability. Fantastic videos you are doing to educate all of us with the goal to make a difference.
Those are very good points, I hope the hotel chains get word of this video and make the right changes. I’ve been in a chair 33 years and in the 80’s the ADA was not followed AT ALL! The newer hotels hired abled bodied consultants to design the hotels which makes no since at all, and the inspectors were just checking off boxes. My experience has been to ask when the hotel was built because if it wasn’t built after 2000 you can guarantee it will be a challenge to stay there. Keep up the good fight, and stay positive, a negative attitude is toxic and a negative attitude in a chair is doubled.
My dad has been in a wheel chair since i was 2, so for the last 48 years this coming August. He ran his own business for more years then he cares to count in the state of Oregon. He helped write and pass a number of ADA Bills into Law. My dad would do the ADA compliance evaluation for the college campus, Architect's would contact him to go over new plans to make sure they where complaint. Plus he also built living environments and ramps for leople in chairs. I walk into a building and I look to see if they are accessible for my dad. I Pray 🙏 Canada Makes some changes fast. Maybe you need to do what my dad did and Be the Voice of Change. Get A Canadian w/Disability Act started. It Needs to be done asap. Good Luck, keep the videos coming.
Wow Wendy! I am a bit bummed that I missed having a conversation with your intelligent father. Is there any material on the projects that he influenced that you could forward to me?! (email contact in video description) I'm keen to do some research on his life and influence.
Wowwwwwww. That was impressive how dysfunctional this room was for you. Since by family is only 2 year into having my dad being disabled. This best accessible room was at a Hampton inn in Georgia. It had, lowered bed height, lowered peep hole, plenty of space around furniture, handles to reach the curtains, a shower chair just like we had at home, reachable towel rack and hook. I was so impressed. However the worst place I have been to was a private college campus in Oklahoma. It was built in the 60s but had wonky wheelchair lifts and locked elevators and tiny hallways to some elevators. Door buttons that never worked. Steep, broken concrete sidewalks that were often soaked with sprinklers pointed at the sidewalks.

Thanks for your video. I have been in a wheelchair for over 50 years ,( Vietnam 1968 ) T-12 L-1. I am 76 years old and still drive my own car and do all the transferring myself. Hotel rooms for the handicap are an absolute joke. My main concern is the height of the beds mattress. When I was younger I had no major problems transferring on and around things with hotels and that was long before the ADA came along. The ADA is a joke too. One thing that hotels do is give you a handicap room on say, the 4th floor. The room is 200 feet or more from the elevator. All carpet flooring which is like pushing a wheelchair through sand. All in all I don't have a lot of years left so my concern isn't as desperate as yours. I sure like to drive Americas backroads and if I have to I'll sleep in my car.
Thanks for this message George. It has been a back of my mind worry, aging out of the abilities I still have. Hotel all over discourage so many. I also sleep in my vehicle more often than in hotels! Cheap and homey! haha
I am the consultant they should call before they spend money on renovations that prove no good! I'd love to spot check all public locations and highlight it by video so people with disabilities feel comfortable travelling and don't just stay home because 'the past 6 times they left home they ran into barriers'
How very interesting. Have no idea what you go threw. Thank you for showing us all what it is like. Tell that boy friend to take good care of you for you are a special treasure. Good luck Don
Most of the time I’m just happy to be able to somewhat move my chair. Most accessible rooms have beds and counters to high and narrow bathrooms with impossible toilet gymnastics , showers that need a 20 point turn to get back out, many times with the roll in showers the only place to leave your wheelchair will give you a wet cushion and backrest to sit in all day unless you build a mountain of towels, or butt scoot across a hard tile floor and begin the fun task of getting back in a wheelchair from the floor, (I’m a high level para very hard for me ) c’mon guys all the work put into useless stuff when you could have down way simpler. Just look at the room from the height of a wheelchair or better yet ask somebody!

I agree with you as somebody that has to use a wheelchair there is no accommodations really prepared for those that need it so if you don’t mind I am sharing your RUclips page with people on my blog because I like what you said and I believe it all to be heard❤

Hi Tanelle, I'm understanding more about your life in this video and the foolishness you encounter in your travels. Grrrr, I feel your frustration. Hope your time there was fun and exciting.
Lord how many times I have been confronted wit exactly what you show here. All my encounters were in ADA compliant big name brand hotels. ALL of them ADA "compliant" newer properties. GREAT JOB!!!!
Bed height is a big one, I normally have to have the bed taken off the frame if I am traveling alone. Call ahead and give the establishment ALL of the information about your needs, normally stick to the big chains

Interesting. I totally get your frustration. I have equal issues in a number of countries including the USA. It wasn’t at all my experience that ada solved the problems any better than my Canadian experience. While it’s far from perfect I would be reasonably happy with any room I can definitely access the toilet and it’s a bonus if I can have a shower. In that case I probably would have ditched the fold down and used a chair off the verandah in the shower. When I was in rehab I swore to kick the 4 pillows and 4 towels a day addiction they train you in. One towel and one pillow is plenty. I also make the effort to report on TripAdvisor any experience. One thing I would say is don’t let it ruin your day. They are just a place to sleep. It is always easier staying home with what you are familiar but where is the fun in that. I would suggest that the angry disabled person approach isn’t one that promotes our cause well.
Sleeping without a pillow between my knees causes all night long spasms; without one to hold onto while on my side I sometimes wake up having pushed my shoulder out (soft beds and dislocation issues). So ditching all the pillows is not something that allows me rest. There was no option of a patio chair in this room, there was no patio. And the office chair (as seen in the video) had wheels, no good for the shower. After driving from British Columbia to Saskatchewan and arriving at 2am to a presumably accessible room that was in fact not that friendly is enough to ruin my day. It is these not-so-great experiences that fuelled this channel in hopes to raise enough awareness that people stop building barriers into things and start to think about everyone! Thanks for watching. I hope you too will find these videos to be educational.
Bahaha!!! I did not have a boyfriend to 'take care of me'. I am currently single and living independently. I have never had anyone come into my home to 'care for me' Things can be very difficult. I do a lot of problem solving on my own.
Bed height is what ended my traveling, most wheelchairs have a seat height of 30" I have run into beds that are 48" high. I'm no youngster anymore so I cannot transfer up 18"

Oh! .... Great job! I hope you will continue to make more videos, because for example when it will be warmer (spring and summer) there will be other interesting topics to talk about (beach, sea, lake etc). Thanks, keep it up!
Hi I just came across your channel and I'm looking forward to seeing more..my son had an injury two months ago T level 4 complete and your videos are very helpful
You’re so functional. That’s such a blessing. I think a lot of people who are disabled wish that they could be as functional as you are. It amazes me that you can reach all the way down to the floor.
Pro Tips For Paras So great ! It seems as if you have 20 to 30 years of experience. It’s wonderful what you’re doing I think God has given you a gift to learn and adapt so quickly. You’re going to progress rapidly with your career and you’re going to help a lot of people. I’m an older woman. With lots of experience and a college degree. You’re doing great. You transfer flawlessly. With great instructions.
Dear, you're right! Please, feel free to see my answers to the others, too. I gave some tips. Why? : l'm a nurs, working for 31 years helping people inside of their homes after apoplx, accidents, rehabs, moving (or bvore and between and near after to years after), second: l n ed a wheelchair myself since 5 and 1/2 year on my own after accidently heavy wrong done OP when "rebairing my right knee and because of 16 or 17 diseases together that brought me ddep and deeper and back to life within a wheelchair finding for my beast's of enemy but now found for my best friend to help me snjaying my world, making it great again! With so much less pain(s) than without!!!! And with clipholders or clothesholders for clothes don't run away with neighbor's dog in windy wheather ).Now it's better than brave best friends !of mine and l love it more and more.) Led 1- 2 friends plan your package, too, with you, to be sure now! I need to stoooopppp - now!
Love the honesty about the rooms, it's not that much better in the US. As for accountability, the only way to hold them accountable is to take them to court and sue the living s____ out of them. Good Luck with your future travels. As someone else pointed out about the bed heights being to high, if you call the front desk, they usealy send maintenance right up to remove the box spring or the bed rails and drops bed close to the ground. Hope that wittle bit of advise helps...
Love the bit of advise on calling the hotel to remove what they can! Maybe I need more courage to take people to court over the bulls-t. Would probably see greater results than this ;)
@@ProTipsForParas Dear, we have to speak proud and with force to get our needs or we never will get the most needed things! I've learned to ask for one to go with me first time l see a room and to show it, led it write down and give it to the manhger, then to say l hope next time l come it'll be better only helps very little. So l got a mirror to hold in hands or lean against the wall UNDER the big regular mirror at the secretary table was one point. They tried to help! I got holders for my towels, the put on nexteday. And: l got a little table to be able to roo to my sofa after 2 days. But: that was a little hotel having breakfast and nothing more. They tried to help where they could. The others need to be written down with 2 of 5 stars in a reporting book for disabled people. We are made more disabled than we are!
I am a business student from Hong Kong and this makes me think about a country with less emphasis on helping people with limited accessibility (like Hong Kong) still has a long way to go.
Hi there. I’m so glad you shared these videos. I am in Nova Scotia canada and I travel for medical apts to Halifax. Finding a true accessible room is close to impossible and it’s so frustrating. That shower bench girl….cringe!! I’m also a larger girl than you, so I wouldn’t be able to get half a cheek on it. I was impressed you managed to grab the shower head, but I’ve been in hotels where the shower bar had the sprayer on top and I’d actually have to call the office to get someone to come up to bring it down….so sad. If you are in Halifax the Chateau Bedford is not fancy, but offers the best accessible rooms I’ve found so far😉. Hubby and I just bought a king bed that is adjustable and I’m not sure if you are like me and get spasms when the bed moves (like when hubby turns in his sleep), but I have to say the two twin mattresses together that make the king adjustable bed is perfect for us! I’ve been getting much better sleeps, and love being able to adjust the elevation, even if it’s for reading or having a tea in bed❤️. Glad I found you, cause it’s hard in Canada finding the good places to stay, and I’d love to travel more but haven’t since becoming a para simply because I’ve been stuck in horrible hotel rooms in the past (where I’d actually have to use the bathroom down in the lobby because my wheelchair wouldn’t fit in my bedrooms bathroom. Do you have shoulder issues from rolling? I’d love to see what your workout routine is, cause I’m limited and intimidated to go to a gym in a chair. Sending best wishes from Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. ✌️
This shit has me in tears. I'm not disabled so couldn't start to imagine how it is life long to deal with this. But when I broke my foot and was non weight bearing for nearly a year I honestly had to learn to hold my bladder and bowels (which has ruin my bladder and bowels even upto this day) for nearly a full day because using the bathroom in public including hospitals was impossible. It's as if they have able body people test these so call accessible places 🤣🤣 which defeats the fucking purpose. Then they feel as if money money when they have complaints and need to change it but they are too stupid to realize if you cared enough in the beginning and did it correctly in the beginning you wouldn't have complaints nor the need to redo it. I'm sorry disabled people have to go through this crap all because of others incompetence.
Thanks for this. Just trying to spread awareness to as many as possible to shift their perspective before they have any personal experience with the issues. Happy New Year! Here's to a happy, healthy future!
I travel on holidays with my dad and im paralysed from the waist down and i have metal rods in my back and im not able to crawl or get in the shower even if it was a disabled room
have been a wheelchair user for the last 21 years and did my share of travel within Canada in the last 5-year alone and with others. I have dealt with many of the same problems showed in this video. The problem is the (ADA) does not apply in Canada
Fact. The when I mention the ADA to most corporate Canadian companies I usually get laughed at, saying 'we're not them'. We should be trying to excel, not making excuses.
Omg right?!?.. I had an “accessible “?room with no mirrors my height and the bathroom door went in also so I couldn’t even come up at any angle to transfer to the toilet which made it so I was unable to do my bowel program and no bench in the shower, but I wouldn’t have been able to get in there anyway. I’m not sure what they think is accessible.. they need to go in in a wheelchair with bindings on their hands and feet and try feeding some of our struggles then they would understand !
I hope to be able to create this opportunity for businesses. Where my charity, RAD Recreation Adapted Society shows up with a trailer full of adaptive devices and a plan for an obstacle course around their neighbourhood... and send everyone on their adaptive mission. Shoelaces tied together with a seat belt on in the wheelchair. So much perspective will be gained with this simple activity ;)
Great video. That was absolutely an abysmal room! Especially the shower setup. Sheraton should be called out as you have perfectly stated. Hard enough to travel as a para. To have all this other BS is inexcusable! Marriott take care of your customers! As a para I have also seen too many make do situations. Thanks for taking the time to illustrate absolute lunacy.

Loving your vids. Another hotel newer problem is bed heights (does this run with the stupid putt height tables everywhere?) are getting ridiculously high, even in handi rooms. And good luck if you are travelling with children, theres times where the hotels handi rooms dont have a 2 bed option.
Completely agree with the bed heights! This will come up in future videos for sure :) And I believe that there should always be the kind and queen option, BOTH, in hotels for this reason as well as when someone is travelling with an aid. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment!
On the need of king size bead, I'm a 6'4" T5 para and my wife is 6" tall and uses a powerchair. We both need a fair bit of manuvering room get in and out of bed as well as rolling over in the night. We once had to share a twin bed and amazingly we're still married :)

It's like this all over. SOME places are great.. others.. complete lies. At least this is not like it was in the past. Doors 2' wide or even thinner. Crawling to the can, sometimes wet floors. It was pretty bad in the past. Thank GOD we are in the US, if you speak with anyone overseas, you will find that they all horrible.
I’ve been a paraplegic since I was 8, Blows my mind that no matter how accessible a hotel is, they can’t seem to make a bed low enough to get into from my wheelchair. I typically have to use the night stand or bring another chair to use as a half way point. Like was at a hotel in LA and they thought of soooo many things trying to make it accessible but, they missed the fact that the bed is almost over my head. How do you think of so many little things and miss the giant bed? Seems like the must obvious thing but NOBODY ever has a lowered bed. Also we have the same cushion 😊

Unfortunately, because this is Canada, it can't really be referred to as ADA compliant because the name implies these are only American laws. However, I do agree that the bathroom looks really dangerous. I'm a wheelchair user myself and I'm kind of nervous something like this will happen if I travel alone :/
I use bed rails with grips work great. I can give you the information if you’re interested where to buy them. I don’t know if you need it but they also have some thing called a pic stick they work great
I can't understand the 17 dislikes... Maybe is the employees from this failed hotel (for people with disability). Nice videos, i have already see 4-5 in one day! Nice mood, even if you are mad because of brainless. I'm disabled person too, from Greece (europe), using electric wheelchair. Thanks for your videos!
In Sweden we do have laws about accessability. BUT there are som many loop holes that those laws are pretty worthless. And when I try (I am a local politican myself) to have my party to work for more secure laws I always get to hear "it is to expensive."
Pro Tips For Paras Well I have a few issues myself with ankylosing spondylitis and also some complications after two cases of severe bacterial meningitis (six weeks old and the second at 28 years old) with an hearing impaired and a small damage on my motor skills and balance. Sadly it is pretty much us in the disability community that fight for these things wish often get swept under the rug wish makes it harder to accomplish improvements.
I’m a wheelchair user myself but I’ve never been on holiday at all always lived in uk 😢only coz not sure what’s out there for wheelchair users I never see hoists out there in hotels
That seat that flips down in the shower...... I transferred in to one once, it was fastened with regular wood screws, it collapsed and when I hit the floor, it broke and cut my wrist. Blood everywhere. Ended up with a super glued wrist for 2 weeks and scars that look like I tried to commit suicide.
I don't know why Canada is like this, I was in a wheelchair for almost a year when I was in college and it was Terrible, I could only use some Bathrooms, some of the elevators did go to all floors for you always had to backtrack could take 1hr to get to the other side of the school when it took everyone else 10 mins, Hade to take the boiler room ( to get to the book store ) and there plan if there was a fire ( can't use the elevators ) for A) someone to carry me down a lot of stairs or B) to find this one room on every floor( not labelled ) and Squeeze out the only window the opened when the fire trunks get the latter to you. we need to do better Canada
The beds being too high & the horrible far from accessible Bathroom SetUps are so frustrating. I wish more companies would watch this & have better mindful ADA Coordinators. A vacation can turn into a trip to the ER & Broken Bones just from basic self care.
I thought all these problems would be only in Germany…. it’s so sad, that we disabled persons aren’t welcome in this world😢😢. No one thinks about the possibility that everyone could have an accident or an illness that brings one in a wheelchair. Hoply it become better one day.
First it seemed very hard what you did but if a so much disabled person came without any helper he/she wouldn't be able to arrange herself, nor in the morning, nor anywhen! Haven't we disabled the right to care for ourselves independent as possible? Yes!!! Don't know how long we had to wait for it! And ourone always has to pay extra: for shoes or things to open a bottle, they don't have special things to eat on my own, in the rehab(!!!) l had to sit in front of the table so noone could come around as long l was sitting and eat! I need long times cauz l've a paralysed larynx since birth! After first day in the middle of the day l ate at my room. There l could sit as long as l needed. But l never felt well. If a reha doesn't have what needed what do you wish to see in a hotel? World has to turn around with v what and when they want. Will they ever do if we don't protest loud? No! I had to give them a note frem 1 to 5 after my visit which took 4 weeks. With all good will l gave 2 stars because most of the rehabsport l couldn't do because of my needs in wheelchair! They always told me: No, you can't, no, don't try!l gave them my doctor's report first, they knew who l am and what l can and what not! Why did they take me? I don't know exept to make money with holding my body there and doing nearly nothing with me!
I thought twice: the hotel needn't steal all own thoughts of a paralysed person!l've got hand-gripps l can suceonto the wall like you got at home for the douce! You can take it with you! You can put your own towel against slippering with you when in hotel. You know they're stolen every day several times, by disabled persons, too! Same with unslippering towel onto the seat. You can sweaten one and lay down. The gripp l wrote you can put wherever youeneed. If they everywhere hang them there's so less place to move without hurt yourself. Towel hangs l take 5 or 6 with me everytime for being in hospital or hotel if money enough. But, yes, it's poor this time! And, important for us all, as a great tip: you can buy for small money some airfilling -epossible cussions 1m long or more, 30 to 45 cm square. These made with a few sheets that you get by reception, helps in all overnight - situations you may go throuth.0 To hang your clothes there were a lot more coat hanger l used to find in France or in Germany, Austria, Spain, ltaly, Switzerland or Great Britain where friends and l have been till know. So we packet little SOS - packets with things written above and with a fan which isn't there in more than 3 of 5 times! Something for in the power points, too! I've got a little thing for my handwashed cloths jver the heater in the rooms for to dry things. There l can hang a lot! Some spray for desinfection, sorry enough, is needed from time to time. And: for all who pee through katheters:it's niche to pack it thenafter into some newspaper or toilet paper to not been found in a peper basket when finished. Or: the cleaning personemay not know what it is and l don't want to make her vomit or so. We, too, have attitudes, they don't know. In rooms/hotels l mere than once stay ovrnigths or for several times in vacation or holidays (l'm no native speaker, so sorry, l try to write correct, believe me, please!)(thx:) ) and if l like athmosphere or/and meals, kindness, lwrite down my special needs, explain and show by going in my room with enabled person. Then l handle it out, together with my adress, and ask, if it's necessary , if they can have it there when next time l'll come again. If so, l come againe, make loud compliments for best service - and write it on the bill when paying - and you can be nearly sure you'll get it next time and next time and next time……… i've noticed that some hotels did so with all rooms or had put things there if asked with a hint insido of their the rooms. They don't have to hake wheelchaired people as guests, you can dcide to take a room there or decide against. It's your turn, you're free! And, if very nerved after a long journey, it's fine to have a long backscratcher with you, with a magnet glued at its back and a gum to häld your ashing tool or in other rooms to scratch your legs or backs or to angle things outside of your reach on the table to you or to put keys from car or home back to your hands or or or or! L've got one in every bag, foldable or telescopic, in every room andeitsVery nice and helps me and others! Tadaa! Better than moaning, but moaning is undersandible. Please, understand, you ARE right! But WE OURSELVES can change things, turn world into better places! Even if they'd asked a disabled person it depends of his/her own needs by hights, weights, or "%s" of disability or/and of missing functions of their bodies and what his/her needs are about!(Is "about right? And it's different with every wheelchair they come with, too! Don't know! Last not least: l always put my dessous into a little box, then l pack it into my bag: so l can put it dow near wherever l need it: near shower, near toilet, near bed, near seat in the evening watching TV. The box has a velcro and a zipper l put on, too. Save against eyes of a cleaner if you can safe it with a tiny combination - lock if you want to put there katheters etc, too. Use a tiier one everyday in rucksack so it can fall down wherever l'm silly and there's nothingto be ashamed if it falls down in a train, bus station, at school or elsewhere.] Please correct me! Thanks! You help me with every video! Yes, you do! We, on the other hand, can help the abled people, too, with kindness and force! Uh, l swim! Don't know if l use the right words! I'm sorry if l hurt you! Then, please l beg you pardon! So l'm here, for any answers and for correcting me, please! Yours, Conny L. Whishing you and all around, having worked hard for the videos, a Happy and blessed New Year 2020! Feel free, feel as wonderful as you are!
It seems that hotels and motels in America ( including restaurants, entertainment venues- essentially any place that MUST COMPLY WITH ADA rules (and I 100% agree with that- this is an aging population. I myself just had back surgery. I am a baby boomer. I am starting to realize that every friend I have has some disability. I just found you on You Tube. Your presentations are awesome. You need to work for giant corporations as they build new sites. I am sure there are consultants but in America; they need to be not just focusing on “space.” That is what I notice when they give me rooms for the disabled because I bring my dog with me. Sorry. But that does point to my original point. Canada and America need to find consultants ( you) to make important and disabled lives as normal and user friendly as possible. Canada needs laws as well. America needs more USEFUL LAWS!!!!!!! Have you contacted anyone? Are you interested in doing so? Linda
LINDA!!!! I am fully on board with this. It is what I love and do always and am working on monetizing. Any suggestions to get ahead in this I am very open to!

muchas gravcias por haberme recomendado este video de esta muchacha tan preciosa paraplegica.. A quien me gustaria ver mas veces caminando con hierros en las piernas y muletas para caminar.
Its not even kitted out for any one with a disability like yours doors that open towards you, Unable to get under in bathroom to get wheelchair under without burning yourself shower room not fit for a disability like yours sat on seat with rail at the back on and on I request from the sheritan at least a half price for such inadequacy for that room ?😢
You are soo wrong...its exactly the same! They'll even prosecute you if you make too much of a fuss! Incidentally as a complete I'm assuming you have little pain....am I correct? (T12 inc. 2000 coincidentally 20 years to the day MVA)
Thank you for speaking up for all of us! The small things that people take for granted or so frustrating 🦽
Happy New Year!
In the U.

I hope to one day have my own custom van. To have my own bed, closet and bathroom with me most of the time would eliminate so much headache
Pro Tips For Paras love you and hope to see you one day....
I have my own accessible van I drive with hand controls. It has given me so much more freedom❤️
Still fighting the good fight! Thanks for helping make change :)
(email contact in video description)
I'm keen to do some research on his life and influence.
Right... it is mind blowing how some people/spaces get it and some seem to plan against access for everyone

Cheap and homey! haha
I hope he's still driving them backroads ❤ I have befn in a wheelchair for 36 yrs...usually the beds are too high
Thank you so much. You could be a spot checker for clients.
I am the consultant they should call before they spend money on renovations that prove no good! I'd love to spot check all public locations and highlight it by video so people with disabilities feel comfortable travelling and don't just stay home because 'the past 6 times they left home they ran into barriers'
@@ProTipsForParas I agree. Seems most thing could be fixed at little cost, just more forthought.
How very interesting. Have no idea what you go threw. Thank you for showing us all what it is like. Tell that boy friend to take good care of you for you are a special treasure. Good luck Don
Thanks Don. He didn't, I'm single. lol

Let your voice be heard!!!! You are a brave and strong, smart woman! Your boyfriend is extremely lucky! You are stunning beautiful as well.... I think I'm in love!

I have used a wheelchair for many years and decided to fix the problem with high hotel room beds myself. Look it up online its called BedBoost for the Disabled Travler
It’s very nice you have someone to help take good care of you. Things can be very difficult
Bahaha!!! I did not have a boyfriend to 'take care of me'.
I am currently single and living independently.
I have never had anyone come into my home to 'care for me'
Things can be very difficult.

I really do love educating people on the adversities that affect so many :) Thanks for watching!
Hi I just came across your channel and I'm looking forward to seeing more..my son had an injury two months ago T level 4 complete and your videos are very helpful
I am very glad to help. Please do not hesitate to ask me the questions you have. I will do my best to try to answer them in video form :)
You’re so functional. That’s such a blessing. I think a lot of people who are disabled wish that they could be as functional as you are. It amazes me that you can reach all the way down to the floor.
Flattered. I have always prided myself on my movement ability, before and after injury.
Pro Tips For Paras So great ! It seems as if you have 20 to 30 years of experience. It’s wonderful what you’re doing I think God has given you a gift to learn and adapt so quickly.
I am a business student from Hong Kong and this makes me think about a country with less emphasis on helping people with limited accessibility (like Hong Kong) still has a long way to go.
you should totally design and be involved in all that people with wheelchair need ! lots of respect much love
I hope to help like this in the future!
It does the job. Excellent product.
I’m also surprised at how many fully accessible rooms are on 3ed and 4th floors. Power outages happen and elevators malfunction
Great video! I've been in the good, bad and the UGLY!

This will come up in future videos for sure :)
And I believe that there should always be the kind and queen option, BOTH, in hotels for this reason as well as when someone is travelling with an aid.

I didn't have too much trouble travelling to Spain, stayed in a hostel. But I have not been many places.

I have collection of hotel rooms that were way more "accessible" :D Need to start filming those.. :) Thanks for the video!
I use bed rails with grips work great. I can give you the information if you’re interested where to buy them. I don’t know if you need it but they also have some thing called a pic stick they work great
Thank you, but I do not need them. Just speaking on the benefits of a large bed ;)
Pro Tips For Paras you’re welcome. Happy New Year !
Nice video. Thanks for the et.
I agree with you on what you say about this
Every hotel I’ve been in is like this except the bed is also up too high
Hotel beds are always an issue. If it's not the height its the solid box underneath!
I AGREE HOTEL ROOMS ARE NOT FOR HANDICAP PEOPLE . I USE A WALKER AND FOUND PROBLEMS IN WASHINGTON DC .
Thanks for delving in!! Appreciate the comment :)
These videos really help
Gosto muito das tuas explicações 👍😚
In Sweden we do have laws about accessability. BUT there are som many loop holes that those laws are pretty worthless. And when I try (I am a local politican myself) to have my party to work for more secure laws I always get to hear "it is to expensive."
I am grateful for your push for a community that has, for the most part, run out of gas to fight for their rights. Thank you.
Oh ya! I had the shower bar come off the wall in a hotel room in Vegas. Dumped myself into the tub much more quickly than I anticipated. No fun.
Oh my WORD!! I'm so sorry this is your reality. NO ONE should have to put up with this kind of mess. This is shameful!
Jeepers! May the adventures some day only be by choice! Thanks for sharing your Canadian experience :)
It is very difficult to find good hotels with enough accessibility to use a wheelchair and they do not give options for one
The beds being too high & the horrible far from accessible Bathroom SetUps are so frustrating. I wish more companies would watch this & have better mindful ADA Coordinators. A vacation can turn into a trip to the ER & Broken Bones just from basic self care.
There is not enough attention given to these issues. And yes mostly because some people just dont care.
I thought all these problems would be only in Germany…. it’s so sad, that we disabled persons aren’t welcome in this world😢😢.
No one thinks about the possibility that everyone could have an accident or an illness that brings one in a wheelchair.
Hoply it become better one day.
Hola saludos desde Cali Colombia
Totally
You look like a fashionista in that chair. That's a compliment. What brand of wheelchair is that?
TiLite. lol I feel far from fashionista
in Asia it will worse than this ., no bench shower and you. cant go by yourself
NR 1🏆🏆🏆🤗
Todo me gustó menos la ducha super incómoda para mi gusto y muy pequeña
I’ve had to deal with all this shit too
So many people! this is why it shocks me.
You would think changes would have been made
That would never be allowed in USA. I’m from Alabama, USA. I’m a quadriplegic and there are many choices.
Love hearing this!
I sometimes hear that the US doesn't always follow ADA, I had a tough time believing it. Happy Holidays from Canada!
!!✌️ This is such an importent issue
Yours,
Conny L.

قوية وجميلة وفي قمة الذوق
Yeah you have a good reason to be pissed about that hotel room.
And I bitch when the carpet is to thick.
😗😘😍😗😘😍♿♿♿
muchas gravcias por haberme recomendado este video de esta muchacha tan preciosa paraplegica.. A quien me gustaria ver mas veces caminando con hierros en las piernas y muletas para caminar.
Wtf the hotel’s aren’t thinking about wheelchairs I swear 😭😭😭😭
I couldn't name a hotel manager that I have encountered who has test drove a wheelchair to figure out if their space is friendly.
Its not even kitted out for any one with a disability like yours doors that open towards you, Unable to get under in bathroom to get wheelchair under without burning yourself shower room not fit for a disability like yours sat on seat with rail at the back on and on I request from the sheritan at least a half price for such inadequacy for that room ?😢
this is terrirable america is more sophisticated and advanced when it comes to wheelchair accessibility
Yes! I love my odds of accessibility in the US over home.
You are soo wrong...its exactly the same! They'll even prosecute you if you make too much of a fuss! Incidentally as a complete I'm assuming you have little pain....am I correct? (T12 inc. 2000 coincidentally 20 years to the day MVA)
There is a lot of frustration and sadness in your voice.
Welcome to reality. Ada rooms are anything but. And here is a harsh lesson, no one cares. Your welcome.
