    This might have been posted in the comments already but if you slow down and hold the mode button it will allow you to switch from off road back to road. Still can't go the other way unless you come to a stop but if your trail ends and you're back on the pavement, it's nice not to have to stop.

      @@adventureundone Yes - the other two things that swung the decision for me was the low slung fuel tank on the Husqy/KTMs and I don't have a Triumph dealer within an hour of me. That and I'm a sucker for round headlights!

    I have a 2023 RP as well and live in the South East USA like you apparently do. So I am surprised you didn't mention heat from the radiators. That is my number 1 least favorite issue with this bike. If my knees were being cooked with heat from the radiator I don't think I would have much to complain about. I can live with all the other little issues you pointed out. Thanks for the review.

    I have two more small ones, also electronics. 6) Range calculation is awful, reserve comes on, and range starts dropping to the point where you might think you're leaking fuel. 7) Cruise control works fine when engaged but is jerky when resuming a previously set speed. My F 850 GSA does the right thing smoothly, like a car. The Tiger wants to be left close to the set speed before resuming.

    • @sebastianmcdonagh8502
      @sebastianmcdonagh8502 11 месяцев назад

      Agree with your comment - Absolutely love the bike but find that the quick shifter is jerky as well ...some have advised it depends on your throttle control but then why bother why not just use the clutch

  • @regorschneid5245
    @regorschneid5245 Год назад

    For it not to come equipped with cruise control for the long distances between "Adventure" is a major oversight in this day and age. When younger, I did a 5000 mile on my 2008 Speed Triple, I'd left the H-D and Yamaha FJR 1300 at home to finally ride the Taos Triumph rally on a Triumph. It was really pleasant to find that that bike was a fantastic touring machine. A tank bag moved the airflow over me in a perfect manner and a Kuryakin Tour bag on the passenger seat allowed for enough carry capacity. The suspension, light weight and power made for a most memorable trip. No heat issue, either. To bad that it is one of the many great bikes that I let get away to change for something new. :(

    I've had my GT Pro for a month. After riding Harleys for 30 years, I wanted something lighter, nimble and, well, different. I rode up to the Blue Ridge Parkway last weekend and the GT is an excellent touring motorcycle. It has more tech than I need (or want), but I can find little fault with the bike other than the goofy TFT screen--mainly the way the tach is displayed--and the seat. I thought HD had the most uncomfortable seats, but this Triumph is the winner for the worst seat comfort. I hear the Sargent seat isn't much better. Those are really my only gripes. Good video. Ride safe.

    • @adventureundone

      oh wow, I'm not sure if the GT has a different seat than the rally, but I love it. Has to be one of the most comfortable stock seats I have sat on.

    To reset the service indicator, you need the Tune ECU app and a Bluetooth dongle. Not expensive and simple to do.
    BTW, just stumbled across your channel and really enjoy your videos.
    My biggest gripe with the bike has to be the tire pressure monitors not having a programmable warning threshold.

    Here’s my take on the stopping for mode changes coming off the trails. I get up to speed, pull the clutch in, turn the bike off, back on and then when it asks if you want to hit “mode” and “ok” for off-road, hit cancel and you’re in road mode.

    I was in the market for a new bike about a month ago and this bike was really high on my list.
    The tiger checked every box that I was looking for.
    But after doing a little bit of research, I came to find out that you need to remove the gas tank and dig through a heap of wires and connectors just to change the air filter.
    I passed on it.
    I ended up purchasing a GS.
    We’ll see how that goes.

    I have a 23 rally pro and 100% agree with your complaints. I also have a Cardo (Edge) and an Iphone (13 pro max) and have finally figured out how to get everything to play nice….ish. Do not pair the Cardo to your phone. Pair your phone to the bike without using the app. Pair your Cardo to the bike. Always use the handlebar controls to do everything, including making phone calls. I found that you actually have to access each function from the bikes menu, before it works, every time you ride. For example, if you want to make and receive phone calls, go to your contacts list from the bike as soon as you start riding. As soon as you notice that your recent calls, have updated on the TFT, you’re good to go!

  • @KetilDuna

    Not nitpicking - at the price it should deliver premium functionality. My Sena mesh also hangs up immediately, the km/h displays about 10% over actual speed. Some settings require full stop, some settings revert during power cycle. A lot of effort is put into making things not working... Cruise control requires 30km/h or more AND 3rd gear or higher and it will not resume from lower than 30km/h to whatever you have set. The service requirement and resetting the indicator is a scam that makes Apple envious. The service manual is hidden behind a subscription paywall. Also, if you're not used to glue every bolt when attaching stuff to the tiger you will lose screws and parts due to engineered vibration. My first ride I had to stop to buy a tool to refasten the mirrors. It's not a joke that tightening bolts are a vital part of normal service. The main outlet for 12v on the front is both a unusual plug type AND always powered (yes, even when parked). Do not use force when trying to remount the rear seat - the locking part will be pushed into the seat rendering the locking non-functional ... The clutch and the brake handles are completely different, I can barely get three fingers on the clutch handle and no room to adjust. On my GT Pro the handguards are just cosmetical from a protective point of view (it does help with wind and rain). For a GT the wind screen is smaller/narrower than they should be. Getting stuck in traffic will make the engine heat up and your left knee will be cooked by the radiator flow. I could go on. If it hadn't been such a nice ride with some real touring potential I would have sold mine.

    You can get rid off the maintenance indicator by changing the actual date ( not to far, just a few months) and do maintenance when the actual milleage is due
