If it is Sound of water and air vaccum or suction, certainly it will start when it rains.
But, in our belief such unseen and unknown sounds are called as" `wma". I may be sounds little superstitious but in my localities `wma/ima are considered as the sounds of those man/women/child who died unnaturally like hang, suicide, accident, execution e.t.c. Such sound comes from the place of occurrence in every lunar cycles where he/she was died or strangled or half died.
