For those who have problem with the last step "position 3-> APP" do as follows: Press the "phone icon" after starting the washing machine for 3-4 seconds and then go to the third slot where it says APP and press "pause/start symbol" and youre connected and good to go ;)
Hi, I'm sorry you have experienced difficulties connecting your Bosch washing machine to your Home connect app. I would recommend trying to reconnect if this is not successful please call 0344 736 0556. Thanks Charlotte.
That will seldom work since you loose the network connection as soon you turn off you washing machine, and it will not reconnect automatically to your phone because your phone will automatically select another stored network on you phone which is available - likely your home WiFi.

This is great technology! With technology however must come great after sales service. I have a Bosch washing machine still under warranty now showing a locked icon. I contacted Bosch UK and helpful staff walked me through some possible procedures - with no success. Now I have to wait nearly 3 weeks for Bosch to send out a mechanic! Oh well.. back to the launderette I guess.. old school solution!

I did want to add though my wife is a care worker doing shifts at a care home for the elderly. I watched her hand washing her uniform as the Bosch washing machine that is still under warranty fails to start. 17 days to go now until Bosch can send out a mechanic. I passed on the message to her from Bosch to be patient. I’m not sure it helped.. should she be happy with lead time?.. should I ?.. are you? .. are Bosch? I understand you have done your best .. it’s just a shame you have been given so little room by management to help

If anyone has issues pairing the appliance with the app, after the appliance has connected to the WiFi (the APP step), the appliance needs to be on the same WiFi band as the mobile phone. For me, the appliance connected to 2.4 GHz and the phone to 5 GHz, and they could not be paired. Once I forced my phone to connect to 2.4 GHz, it found the appliance. It's crazy they've such a system with this caveat.

Hi, Try resetting the appliance (option to reset in the basic settings, or for washing machines you can reset Home Connect itself in the basic settings), then remove the appliance from the App (press and hold, then delete). Then follow the instructions on the App to re-add. Thanks - Craig
Hi, thank you for getting in touch, you cannot turn the Wi-fi off, as it's not required to be used, it will only connect with a Home Connect device if you set it up to do so.
I can believe I am commenting under video like this. Anyway, this Remote button doesn't work on my machine. It's illuminated only when the machine is starting and then it goes dark and I am trying to press it but nothing happens. Noice.

Got say what a complete waste of time (well over an hour), the instructions for the home connect app that came with the washing machine don't work, scan the QR code and all I get displayed is "Test", click find an appliance, and eventually I just end with a Bluetooth error. So I read the instructions in the the manual that came with the machine, it says to connect your phone to the washing machine and enter the password key Home-Connect, well guess what that's the wrong password!!! Its actually just HomeConnect! So now my phone is connected to the washing machine, but still get Bluetooth errors! So I now resort to RUclips, and come up with this video, I actually did once manage to get to enter my network name, I put it on the guest wi-fi for added security, guess what it didn't work!!!!! More reading and it says it should connect to the same network as the phone, so then I try and get to the setup screen again, which I never could. Why is it so hard! I've built, used, programmed computers for around 40 years, so what chance does anyone have, utter crap! I expected far more of Bosch. PS. I may try again at the weekend, hopefully will have better luck, other wise it will just be used as a dumb washing machine. Hopefully it will last 15 years like the last Bosch one.

@@ivaylonedelchev1508 Yes its a very bad user experience, and its all down to Bosch/Home Connect, and there inconsistent, unfinished and very poor instructions. The QR just does not do what its supposed, scan the code (you need a data connection at this point on your phone) and all the instructions say is "Test". You then need to connect your phone to the washing machines wi-fi, use the password HomeConnect, not what's printed in the manual that is wrong! Last weekend I had another go and was actually able to get the app to find the washing machine. I then clicked the appliance in the Home Connect app and got another screen which said "Confirm on the appliance. Follow step 3 in the home connect installation guide to locate the appliance in your Wi-Fi" Of course there was nothing on the appliance, it just had the wifi symbol going round and round, nothing to confirm! As for step 3, well anything I could find with a step 3 didn't have any relevance! I might today have a go at phoning, but its not something I'm looking forward to! PS I also tried a different phone last weekend, just in case it was my phone, same result though!

One thing I HATE is when the shit won't connect and the only help you get from Bosch is the same 10 videos. My Washingmachine can't connect to anything and just keeps searching for WIFI, while my app keeps searching for a washingmachine and nothing happens!!! WTF. Is this what I paid top$$$ for???

Indeed, my QR code looks foggy and unclear when looking at it via app, plus no button or so to activate reading it so it defo stays unread.
Do we need 3x slow down of video and a magnifying glass to follow step by step without getting headache!!!??
