getting off heroin will do that! at my worst i was 130lbs living in an abandoned building with 6 others addicts/hookers in kensington section in philly, NEVER seeing my son, scheming 2 get/stay well 2 187lbs, fantastic relationship with my almost 9 year old son, great job, family, ect

jakegetscake I know it's easier said than done but please try to ween off before it gets worse. I've lost too many people to that shit. Try to go skate more; it's great for keeping your mind off any and all bullshit, and learn to appreciate the high of landing a trick. Good luck bro.
Girl Talk hey, it's definitely possible and for some, easier than you would think. My mom was on hydrocodone for probably 15 years, about 10 pills a day,and she beat it cold turkey with some determination and weed. Just tell yourself you can do it, and actually believe in yourself. :)
@Reichsflugscheibenchemtrailpilot der NWO that shit is No Joke. And you are a piece of shit for saying that. Whether you were joking or not. Rewatching all The Nine Club interview episodes, just seeing what I notice on a second run through, and one of the things that immediately hits me is how intelligent and naturally well-spoken Andy is when he’s engaged. He’s just one of the best humans. All heart ❤️
A Clean&Sober A. Roy plus the weight he picked and new chops in his head-Damn near don't recognize him. Also, what better time right now for Anti Hero to release a new Andy Roy board!!!
Through all these crazy stories all I hear is a guy with a great big heart that's genuine with all his warts and everything. We love you Andy. You look so fuckin good, man. You got such a good perspective on life, brother.
Andy Roy is always entertaining, but I love that he can tell stories so well now that he is sober. Those stories he would try to tell before he can finally share with clarity. It is really amazing how well he can carry a conversation in an interview now. Also, I never thought about his age because I always remember when he was young, but I had to rewind and look it up when he said his age because he looks younger now than he did just a few years ago with his frame actually filled out. Keep at it, Andy!
Greeting there. I have followed your program a couple of years, I get good vibes from this format to which you have to create. This episode where my idol Andy Roy is speaking openly about his life and sharing insights for free feels great. Andy is really a humble and wonderful person. A real idol that gives fans everything. It's great to see him get new winds to life and take him to the high. Regards Dj Tero from Finland
Tim Power I quit heroin the day my fist kid was born 8 years ago and I get sick of hearing people claim it isn’t possible because as you know all too well it is possible but you’ve got to want it.
InConTruth honestly brother (or sister) first congrats, 2nd you gotta really be sick of it. And by it I mean all the lies we’ve been fed since birth that lead us to addiction.. the science that makes us think we are a mistake, the broken families that make us feel shame and hatred, the lust and desires for things others have, the regrets for all the mistakes we’ve made. Personally I wouldn’t have wanted to do it without a deeper drive to be like Jesus, I mean following his example of loving and living for others so they could be free from the traps of this world order really help me stay clean.. I’ve also been purity sober for a year now too,,, that’s a fun one, no porn or forn (ication) - folks don’t like to talk about that one! All these things are vices that as Andy said “keep us from dealing with the junk in our lives” - and it is amazing being pure and sober, giving my all to my children and having nothing to hide. Keep it up friend! Life is a battle
I started skating at 33. I’m 41 now. After listening to Mr Roy today while at work, I went to the skate park and rolled in for the first time. Solely based on “rollin or get the fuck out”. Thank you Andy and Nine club for doing what you do. Y’all gave me the motivation. Much love fellas. 👊
Andy you are a legend...one of the greatest interviews i have ever watched...laughed my arse off. Take care Andy fist bumps from Capetown South Africa 🛹
Andy Roy has been one of my favorites since seeing him in the first Thrasher video in 93. Then Consolidated, Anti Hero, jail, random interviews, and before the internet had as much on it I just didn't see him very often but when I did it was getting worse and worse. He is a new person and hope it sticks. I don't know him but I have been a fan of his skating style for so long now that I am just really rooting for him.
A friend of mine got the same procedure in Vegas they look fucking phenomenal, dudes like a whole new person. Happy to see Andy doing good, one of my favorite 9 club episodes for sure.
It’s amazing how much we learn about not just Andy Roy and his life, but all the other people he rode with back in the day. He is a damn good story teller
what a life this dude has led and the way he explains every experience down to the most sickest detail is super gnarly. We definitely need an update stop and chat.
Beside Jason Dill, Andy Roy is the most stylish skateboarder. He is the real Anti Hero!!! And you can see he payed his dues, and you can see he is rised up from gutter. I liked this interview, cause I always liked the way he skates, his style. Also I always wanted to hear his life story - there is more then meets the eye. he looks like crazy dude, the beast, party animal, but also he is so mellow and intelligent. Also have you saw videos where he used to teach little kids how to skate. Also I liked his Epicly Later'd and wanted, always to know more!!! Thanks The Nine Club. Again, greetings from Bosnia.
rsizzle21 He is on my list too. And I know we can go and mention all those great skateboarders through the history. But when we talk about “now”, how about Andrew Allen, cause he has not “perfect body” for a skater, just like Fred Gall example, and you could see his uniqueness through his body motions? And yes when we talk about motions on the board, yes Tom Penny looks like the board is just extension of his body. Quite unique style, and he’s seems like he is doing his thing with the eyes closed.
@@bvdatech1 of course. I love whole Anti Hero aesthetics, their unique videos, unique board graphics... Not to mention their whole team riders, actually skateboarding dream-team: Taylor, Pfanner, Van Der Linden, Russo, Gerwer (nose before hose), Hewitt, Trujillo, Stranger, Anderson, Cardiell. But not only the skaters, look videographers and designers that have worked with them Yeilland, P-Stone, Todd Francis. Only one thing bothers me: I do not know much about their riders. For example, how it would be room mate, in the tent, with Gerwer??? Yes Hewitt is shredder, but i do not know much about him. Also there is magic about keep their private lives: private!!!
Watching this after watching his epicly later'd episode on vice is like seeing a different human.. wow. I love to see it!!! He looks and sounds amazing here. Good shit Andy!!!
Met Andy Roy at my local. Apparently hes local to the city I live in. He was so nice and generous, i was actually susprised. Such a kind dude in the most chaotic way possible
Andy Roy is so gnarly! The Consolidated team came to my hometown in the 90's. It was great to hear Andy reminisce and recall those wild stories. The best interview I've seen yet!

Hey Chris if you're reading this...thanks for all the content you provide us with...I appreciate you. You're a very good interviewer and easy to listen to.
As a ska8r from scotland in the mid 90 and early naughties but recently love watching/seeing where sk8ing is at nowaday and watching these eps, this has to be 1 of my frav episodes, Andy roy is a fkn beast! and through and through sk8er, just watch "epicly later'd with andy roy" and what a transformation!.. guy looking healthy as fk and loving life, also helping other kids to sk8!! all the best to this man and look foward to hearing his own pod cast..
Same thing after watching his Epicly Later’d Seeing him in KoTR drove me nuts. But then watching this and EL and it taught me a good lesson about judging people.
I see the snuggle bandit's still "doin' what he gotta do". EDIT: I thought I was dropping some O.G inside knowledge with my snuggle bandit comment, but then at 28:36 HE ACTUALLY TELLS THE STORY! Andy is the best at being honest...sometimes.
He seems to take full responsibility for his own actions as an adult. But at the beginning he said there was stuff he was not willing to talk about at rehab. Dude must be dealing with some deep childhood trauma and abuse and must have some serious guilt about getting someone else in trouble for how much he has punished himself.
It so awesome to hear Andy in an interview now, he can actually hold conversations without trailing off completely to some random thing. He still does it a little bit but not nearly what it was like before. It so rad to see Andy like this, so happy for you Andy!! You definitely seem like your doing grear & its great motivation for us all!! Keep killing it!! As always thanks 9 club for another great ep!!
Not only does Andy inspire me to skate and keep my sobriety, he also helps me keep my dental hygiene in check lmao whether it was his old, nasty ass teeth or his new pearly whites, it reminds me to brush and floss.
When they asked Andy about a pro board, I could see his eyes welling up with tears and his speech started stuttering. Struggling with opiate addiction, I felt a connection and felt what he was feeling in that moment. I felt tears falling down my face. I deal with intense guilt and shame around this addiction and stuff like this reminds me to keep pushing and stay sober because it’s worth it. I know this video is old, but thank u nine club for this interview.
You can do this brother! I’m celebrating almost 5 years clean after being addicted to heroin for 6 years and oxy/hydro for a couple years before that. Im rediscovering my passion for skateboarding and playing music, even teaching my 8 year old son to skate. Keep pushing forward dude, skateboarding loves you.
Well done Andy!!! 100 days sober!! You're looking super healthy man!!! Keep it up! I'll be 3 years clean & sober later this year, after almost dying.. 1 day at a time!
Crob, I noticed you gave up on your loyalty to Adidas with the Vans crewneck! Good for you, screw them for not hooking you up after you advertised for them so much on here.
Andy Roy is such an amazingly and endlessly interesting person and so honest, so real in every way, good for you getting clean and still being an amazing skater, keep it going man, loving these interviews they're amazing! EDIT: I thought I was dropping some O.G inside knowledge with my snuggle bandit comment, but then at 28:36 HE ACTUALLY TELLS THE STORY!
Andy is the best at being honest...sometimes.
Lmaooo
Yes Nine club !! Killing it with the guests as always
Hands down best interview I have seen it’s always good to here from the a legend.

Funny he mentions Kelly's laugh cause I've always found it infectious and relatable.
Hahahah this was too good!!! Andy is a legend 😂😂
And you fucking shred mogely 🤟🏼
The first Nine Club interview I watched. I can relate to Andy in lots of ways. Glad to see him clean. Keep up he good work guys. Really enjoyed it.
When Andy said he started watching bc of Kelly’s laugh and then Kelly was like thanks and then laughed I lost it
Thanks Nineclub for having Andy, raddest episode yet. I come back and listen to it again every now and then Andy’s stories are fucking hilarious
Not only does Andy inspire me to skate and keep my sobriety, he also helps me keep my dental hygiene in check lmao whether it was his old, nasty ass teeth or his new pearly whites, it reminds me to brush and floss.
Their will never be another Andy Roy, love everything about this dood, tru punk and truly free
Andy Roy looks so different with his new teeth
Nahh! 😂
He really does to me too. Like a different person. Good for him
he sounds different too, his voice seems lower than it used to be O_o
He even talks different
It's Andrew now. Or Mr. Roy.
I'd just like to say thanks to everyone involved in the nine club. Love from Manchester.
Make this 1M views! Andy super proud of you! 9club is such a good podcast.
Well done Andy!!! 100 days sober!! You're looking super healthy man!!! Keep it up! I'll be 3 years clean & sober later this year, after almost dying.. 1 day at a time!
Such a humble guy. He just looks and speaks like a whole different person. So happy for him that he is feeling good again!
Crob, I noticed you gave up on your loyalty to Adidas with the Vans crewneck! Good for you, screw them for not hooking you up after you advertised for them so much on here.

Just watching this one now.
It's a classic one. It's a real experience of 'Wild Boy' Skater culture at its best.
Yo you should get Kareem Campbell to nine club🤙🏼
Hell year
Hell yeah
Yeeee
really think Andy is the realest dude in skate 100%
This was too damn funny. I could legit listen to another 3 hours. Such a necessary dude to have around nowadays.
“We went to go do it again coz I wanted to win this time. You know what I mean, I can beat 30secs!” 😂😂😂
Man its good to see him killing it out there keeping things going for the better, man good shit Andy ROY much love!!!!!!
Only andy could post his own spoiler ta a 9 club ..... now ..... lets get this 🤘🤘
Andy looks great his confidence is through the roof and seems so happy, been following since the beginning and this is by far one of the best episodes

P.S I fucking love his Harold Hunter shirt and the fact that he hung out with all the legendary New York street kids
