Cassian Andor owns two droids during his lifetime the red salvage droid B2EMO and the re-programed KX security droid K-2S0. We have a theory that say these two robots actually share the same brain module.

To be honest, I hope not. I think B2EMO is the most adorable droid in Star Wars, if not the most adorable character overall. Little guy had the demeanor of a robot pet dog.

As much as I believe this theory can happen. I don't think it'll happen unless b2emo gets reprogrammed. B2 is adorable and innocent (for now) and K2 is sassy and calculated. It would be interesting if B2's innocence has gone away after Maarva and realizes that people are crappy and it's because of the Empire.
B2EMO is sassy and calculated too, it is worried about andor getting arrested and understands lying. B2 just has old batteries and a weak body. Giving an old, weak droid a new strong battledroid body with new batteries will it cheer up.

Remember Luthens navigating droid on his ship. I believe the ship won’t survive in Andor 2 where the droids navigating memory will be transferred on K2-S0
when you think about how Cassian came to the family , it makes you realize how close to b2emo he would be. because he would been the least threatening out of the three and it would been the first being that he opened up to. Cassian would of taught B his language and B is prob the reason Cassa speaks 6 languages.
I kinda want to see the two droids interact. Both have connections to Cassian in very different ways and I think it would be pretty interesting to see how they would react to each other.

B2EMO is scared all the time because he is old, weak and can't hold a charge. Give that scared droid the body of a KX droid with top tier armor and batteries and his attitude and personality will definitely improve.

I think they have a very similar character. Especially the first scene together with Cas. The whole conversation, and the way B2 talks, could have been replaced with K2.

Allan has a very particular way about himself, a very calm and collected demeanor, which goes against the hyping and spectacular tone of most RUclipsrs. Take Eric Voss for example, who is another goto guy for SciFi and Star Wars, he's always "🦊-Newsing" his Videos. While Allan is always relaxed, laid-back and educational. That's an acquired taste, you have to like this style, or you will switch away, before you get to the meat of it. I do like it very much, especially because my daily business is very hectic. It's my daily fix of calm nerdism.

K2SO being less timid/scared than B2EMO makes sense. B2EMO has an old body, weak batteries and slow processors. B2EMO would definately cheer up and be less scared if Andor gives him a brand new KX body with new batteries, new processors and heavy armor.
That scene of chopper trying to fight r2d2 and then r2d2 pulling the astromech equivalent of a gun on him will always live in my mind

I’m glad I’m not the only one to think this. As soon as I heard B2 Speak it instantly reminded me of K2’s voice. I know it’s not the same voice actor, but it’s definitely a very similar pitch.
I think B2-EMO is hiding something. It’s established in the first episode that lying drains his battery rather quickly, and during the most recent episode he was charging all day. I may be reading into it a bit much, but it could be a pretty cool chekovs gun
That's what I think too - that it's going to turn out to be a combination of the two other most popular theories about B2-EMO. The first being B2 has very limited available memory and is always draining battery trying to keep a big secret. Once unburdened from keeping the secret, B2 will be able to function much better and basic upgrades can fix any other issues, but there will not be a significant personality change. The other that instead of being fused into another droid and staying with Cass, B2 will serve the rebellion by becoming a mentor/friend to other people and droids who need to heal and "rebuild." It will give Cass much more peace to know that B2 is safe and living Maarva's legacy, helping other people the way that Maarva and B2 helped him than to keep B2 by his side as K2SO. But I do like the idea that K2SO is the product of it's own driod sentience kicking in as detailed in the comic and a fusion with other less prominent AIs we have met in the show like the sarcastic ship. I personally hope the reason K2SO refuses to leave Cass isn't because K2SO *is* B2, but because K2SO *promised* B2 they would always take care of Cass. There could even be a kicker with the idea that the promise was part of how B2 helped K2SO learn the difference between a request and an order, doing something because you want to help someone not because you have to.
My theory is that the AI from Luthens ship (which Cassian will inherit after Luthens tragic death) will go on to become K2SO. Cassian's endearing relationship with Bee is foreshadowing and merely setting the stage for a future relationship that will develop over time from all the experiences he will share with Luthen and his ship.

When Cassian is watching Luthen and Vel discuss his late inclusion to the Heist team through the cockpit window he glances furtively around the cockpit when the Ship "notices" what he's doing and asks Cassian, "Something I can help you with?" In a wry and somewhat familiar tone.
That whole scene felt odd somehow, the way it was shot and the subtle comedic timing (which has been a rarity in "Andor") between Cassian and the AI really got my attention. It literally made me go, Hmmm? All I know is that absolutely nothing is done without a reason by Tony Gilroy and I interpreted that scene as a tiny hint of things to come.
The AI in Luthen's Fondor ship will remote control reduce the casualties in Steergard, whilst giving the appearance that Kreegyr is Axis. Perhaps not all 30 men will die in raid.
I feel like B2's reluctance to leave the charger may be cuz he's afraid of being shut down an reprogrammed. With Maarva's passing, and Cassian gone, he has no family left. May also be the reason he REALLY doesn't wanna be alone, and why he is so reluctant to leave with Brazo, trying to cling on to whatever he can to keep them alive in his memory.
We will have to wait and see how Cassian Andor meet K-2SO by capturing the Imperial Bot and reprogram him to be on the side of the Rebel Alliance.
It would be cool, but I feel like if his old droid's brain was in the new body he would call K-2SO "Bee" Instead of... K-2SO

I have a feeling that the Andor show will retcon how Andor meet K-2SO.
It wouldn't be the first time that a new show retconned something that happened in a canon book or comic.
part of smart streaming unfortunately is causing a slight outrage to give haters a reason to watch. changing cannon is one way to do this with out also being labeled "woke"

New subscriber: Question for Allen. I am confused about Luthens obsession with Andor, I understand he wishes to stay concealed; However, Bix, Saw, Val, and Andor have seen him. Bix has had contact with him more than Andor on multiple Occasions and is currently under Empire imprisonment and torcher to find him. Luthen is doing nothing about it nor seems concerned she could reveal something, why? I believe it's the only flaw in the show thus far, your opinion.
I would love to see B2 and R2 meeting each other.
When I watched episode 11 I had this realization as well. K2SO hated not being by Andors side at all times in Rouge one so it is possible that it is the same AI. Guess we will find out in a few days or sometime during 2nd season.

I don't think it's going to happen. Their personalities feel too different, it would be really hard for me buy that they're actually the same character. Not impossible but hard. K's personality could simply have developed over time if Cassian decides not to wipe his memory after the initial wipe, which is generally how droids develop distinct personalities in the first place. Rogue 1 also implies he didn't just get a memory wipe but was flat out reprogrammed.
Yeah, I feel the same way regarding the two droids, they just feel too different from one another to make a transition from one to the other believable. Plus, the comic mentioned in the video is a solid piece of evidence that B2EMO is unlikely to be K-2SO.
Sure, comic was pretty under-whelming, short, and rushed so I have a feeling if anything it'll be used as just a rough base of reference, but within that comic Cassian JUST reprograms the KX unit. It still has the desire to fulfill its' primary programming coming through after every attempt, and Cassian ends up reprogramming the thing several times, deleting more each time, before it finally stops trying to kill him. I feel that alone would explain why K-2SO is so quirky and sassy given he's got a a really hacked-together reprogram job that likely screwed up a few things leading to the droid we know and love. Sure, there could have been further tinkering between the comic and Rogue One, but even if there was I doubt B2EMO's memories, parts, modules, etc. would have anything to do with that since he'd likely just call K-2SO "B" since the only explanation for why he'd do that is to wholesale import B2EMO into the KX body after fully erasing the original unit's mind from it.
I have confidence they'll make that whole story far more interesting and better-paced in the second season, assuming that's the season he'll appear in, and that the story of K-2SO becoming Cassian's companion will not involve B2EMO's personality being injected.
I have seen Alan Tudyk (voice of K2SO) listed as being in Andor and now we only have one episode left!

K2SO B2EMO is too much of a coincidence. I thought this myself today just driving. I could easily see this happening which makes K2SO's demise in Rogue One that much more compelling storytelling.
Both droids seem to have problems keeping thoughts to themselves as well... Would be interesting!

Chopper has had several memory wipes. Hera told Ezra this in season 1 of rebels. Said she did it to erase his trauma from crashing in the y-wing. It didn't really work.
I really like that you did an in-depth analysis of this. You basically summarized that it can be done, but only under very specific circumstances.
As much as I would hate to see B2 killed off or wiped, its just a point in the Star Wars story where all the characters we grow to love aren't going to make it to the end. So reinstating his programing into K2SO could help form an attachment to Andor. A character who has lost so much and deserves at least one constant companion. But too much attachment might hinder Andors commitment to the mission. I just hope that if it is done, its done right.
Personally I don't think it could work. Because B and K are just so radically different as characters but also as in-universe technology. B is an older maintenance and salvage droid on the fritz, K is a brand new security and combat droid. Something they have in common though is that they are both professional droids meant for a specific work field. This would mean they were both not meant to form attachments to individuals or employees. This would explain why B is having such a hard time with Maarvas death. He formed an attachment with Maarva and others when it wasnt in his programming. So its hard for him to understand that she isnt coming back. The same can be said about K. He wasnt meant to form attachments to anyone at all either. So simply reprogramming him not to kill everything in sight would be a good start to him being able to work on a team. So transplanting B into K with some additional work could work. Or just some extensive work might be all it takes. It remains to be seen.
A huge missed opportunity so far in the sequels, including all post-Endor, would be exploring the themes of droid sentience and slavery. They ham-fistedly introduce this idea in Solo but I'd rather not think about that. A big chunk of post-Empire conflict might revolve around the realization that at least some droids are legit sentient and a fight "droid rights".
Droid rebellion was definitely explored in Legends with IG-88, but there's little of it in current canon. Maybe we'll see some later?

@@GreylanderTV IG-88's droid rebellion was similar, in some ways, to the Kessel mines getting overrun in Solo. But instead of a benevolent droid leading it, you had a psychopathic murder machine. If I recall correctly, he even took control of the Death Star II, intending to use it to wipe out everyone.
I seriously doubt there is a direct connection between the two droids.
the two things i think will happen are (1) cassian will kill his own droid (2) cassian will salvage something out of b2emo (and more then likely climbing will be involved) allen im really sorry for blowing up your chats as much as i did but i watch a lot of fan boy stuff, and make a lot of crappy out there theories. but i really like this one i felt like every episode it got a little more possible. and on top of that its the best streaming disney+ has had in 2022(and totally under watched). that says so for me cause I'm a breakroom/marvel junky . I really liked when you explained about the rule of thirds and how they are really making high art. I've always had a hard time watching cartoons so I miss most of the best star wars but I'm still a nerd and need it broken down and you are the best. your content is always so good, and you do an amzing job interacting with the people who consume your work. Also before people say “oh B2EMO is unique and shows so much emotion” like uhhh R2 shows a similar amount of emotion and personality, shaking when happy and doing sad noises when sad, C-3PO also had tons of personality, feelings, and opinions…

I think B2EMO acted like his memory was full. I imagine he'd remember things better with a larger memory bank or more RAM. Or maybe it's possible that droids can get dementia among other mental illnesses.
Or their circuitry wears out and the batteries degrade, just like an old phone.
B2 and K2 are very different personalities. K2 is very sassy and passive aggressive while B2 is very anxiety ridden and a little clueless. Sadly I think we are going to see B2 "die" next episode, potentially in an attempt to help Cassian when he inevitably gets caught by the empire at his Mother's funeral
Why haven’t the ISB interrogated b I mean he’s a droid so he has to have a great memory of Cassian‘s?
Star Wars established early on that in-universe there's prejudice against droids and they're underestimated. It's a big blind spot for them to ignore B's relationship to Cassian.

Everyone on Ferrix was doomed from the first episode. Cassian is going to lose them all en route to his destiny as a rebel. Including the droid.
As soon as you talked about the lightsabers, I texted my mom and said "I know what I want for Christmas!" Also this is such a great theory! I love the thought of B2 still following Andor around in Rogue One. I saw comments here saying that they have completely different personalities, but to me it makes sense, because maybe his bigger stature and limbs gained upon becoming K2SO would make him a little more confident. Also, Alan Tudyk is in the cast list, so maybe K2SO will appear in the final episode?

I want a B2EMO
considering that K2 dies, I’d rather B2 survives and Andor leaves him with Bix or Braxo, whichever one of them actually makes it out alive. Since there’s rumors of having Bix in some future SW show, how cool would it be if it B2 with his innocence and loving spirit is the one to restore Bix’s mind? Then he becomes Bix’s droid partner and we get to see him again.
As much as I like that fan theory, it would have more impact if they let B2EMO stay dead.
I think this is very likely, I didn't even know it was a theory. B2EMO is definitely an old droid and I can see Cassian wanting to keep the old guy around by transplanting his central processor into a KX chassis. I'm guessing the KX has simpler "killbot" software and a less sophisticated cpu because, after all, the KX is a killbot. The fusion would result in the hybrid K2SO "personality". That would make K2SO's death in Rogue One even more poignant because Cassian and B2EMO/K2SO would have been together from the moment Maarva and Clem found Cassian on Kenari to Cassian's final mission on Scarif.
I'd wager K2SO's origin will be in a subsequent season that they'll tease in the trailer.
They'll do a cop-out where they upload him into a security droid in order to 'save' him, but his personality mixes with the security droid or something. So we get him dying but carried on in some way.
B2EMO reminds me of Pixar's WALL-E because like B2EMO is a salvage droid like WALL-E. WALL-E was alone on Earth until EVE arrived to Earth. I know that WALL-E is more issue with Climate and waste on Earth make it unhabitable.
Early on in the series, I thought B2EMO was going to get Andor arrested by saying too much.
Thanks for the great video! I am in favor of this as I've been a believer from the first time I heard B2 speak. He just reminds me of K2SO. I'm also team droids, so it would be a cool story if his brain was transferred to K2. I want to give B2 a chance to do something in Marva's memory.
I feel I should also point out that the KS units sound different in Jedi Fallen order too.

R2 had his moments of being a little prick, but i see it as an independent streak (ego?)… but chopper was homicidal to other droids! Love that little prick!
I would be great to show that Andor did not have the time to fully wipe the K2's memory before installing B2 and the two droid personalities have a power struggle until the two programs fully merge into a combo personality

In the novel when k2 dies he’s able to process a lot of data and reflect on his life… it’s heavy
I think a lot of the characters introduced in the first season won't make it to season 2 and that B2 and possibly Bix will die. Those two are the only links he has to Ferrix now that Maarva is dead.

To be honest, I hope they do not go this route. Bee has a very different personality from K2, and I feel like if they turn Bee into K2, that takes away the K2s entire character. Besides, I really wanna see K2 develop into the droid we see in Rogue One.

I would say simply not, since then why would Cassian call Bee (K2SO)? They are 2 different droids and I’ll predict this now… Bee will be compromised in the finale which will make a hole in Cassian’s soul from the loss of Bee, which will be filled once Cassian meets K2SO which will be good to see!
I wouldn't think so. They really don't have the same demeanor, while both funny with a sense of charm - K-2SO is sacrastically witty while B2EMO is more naive and child-like.

I half expect B to ask for a memory wipe. To a droid with an existential crisis, the idea of a rebirth (of sorts) might seem appealing.

B2EMO's droid brain installed into a K-2SO and using the K-2SO's vocab modulator to speak with. It would also explain why K-2SO has some clumsiness using arms and legs.
You have to remember the K2 unit in Jedi fallen order, if I remember correctly, it had a feminine-sounding voice.
Actually BB 8's voice is modified audio of a performance by Bill Hader if I'm not mistaken......In fact they literally say on the sequence of Dave Chapman that he is BB 8's puppeteer

My guess is they do a reverse-Millennium Falcon and the Fondor AI becomes K2 after the Fondor is irreparably damaged.

Read the comic “Cassian & K-2SO” it is cannon and gives you the backstory for K-2SO.
B2EMO is going through the stages of grief one of those stages is denial.
Also remember in fallen order the KX droids had female voices.
