This is amazing & I need the green one! My kids are 3, 5, and 10. I'm learning guitar now with my 10 year old, then I will teach the boys. They need something smaller.
I saw you struggling during the song with placement on your lap, hysterical. I was wondering who was going to snatch one of these up. It is scratchy like you said but it sounds better than I thought.
Just found your chanel from Phillip McKnight. Great chanel keep up the great work. Ill be passing this info on to all my friends. U got s new subscriber and fan. Cheers
Almost got that green one but on further inspection it had dead frets after 13 on the first 3 strings, so I went with the black matte one, it’s an absolutely fantastic guitar!! Highly recommend it
Great videos!🎸🎸🎸 I have 2 Boys will probably buy 2. The wife will probably freak out because of all the points, thank goodness I have great health insurance.
thinking of convincing my aunt to get my cousin a guitar, I'd even chip in to get him one of these if it is worth it. My cousin is 10 but somewhat short for his age.
I'm on a $400 budget and I'm getting one in neon green and I'm getting a fender champion 20 with a behriger hell babe wah to play my favorite Kirk Hammett solos
Nice work. I noticed that you have an ADA Mp1. I have a friend who does complete overhauls on those to help with the noise; new transformer, installs a noise gate, eprom, op amps etc. I have one that he installed a 3tm into and all of these mods and it is quiet yet crushing. Thank you for the review
i use the earnie ball EB2715 10-52 Cobalt Skinny Top Heavy Bottom Slinky. it work very good with drop C. maybe because the cobald strings give more brightness, this is because i like the sound my original pickups. to stay better in tune i use locking tuners. maybe in future i try the 9-48 for even more better bend because less tension on strings. but this small guitar is strong enough to keep the 10-52 in tune many days
My grandson who is 4, wants a red v shaped guitar. He held two fingers in an upside down position to let me know this was the shape of the guitar. Your playing is very nice. I am 45 and wish I could play half as good as that. But I am a firm believer in it's not how well you play but if you like to play. Make that noise!!!
Michael Nielsen I am in a similar position as you I have been looking lately for a new peice of wood really like these but was wondering if it would be with getting js32t model just for the size and better hardware what is your opinion?
this should be the traditional scale length, normal guitars are like a struggle to play sometimes its like fighting or some sport, its not like a piano as it should.
A full setup and upgraded bridge, pickups, tuners and nut and you'd have a guitar that'd be able to keep up with the JS32 line and more at least to the next tier of Jackson guitars.
I bought a used one for 120 and i'm not happy with it at all the 5th & 6th string flap along the board and it tend' s to go out of tune easily i'm already considering selling it for a 100 bucks,i'm not an expert so maybe i'm doing something wrong or i bought a defective one
I gave a Purple Strat one to a grandson years ago, sniff sniff...... Oh look there's a fresh batch of Blue Burst Randy Rhodes Minions on Sweetwater, "Ka-ching" insta-purchase! It now sits hidden on the far side of my sofa plugged into a Yamaha THR10X for when those Dethklok "Awaken Mustakrakish" moments arise Arise ARISE!
Question: Can I swap out the humbuckers with Randy's OG setup? The Dimarzio PAF in the neck and Distortion in the bridge? F spaced? Help, I am insane...
Ask this question on another video looking for opinions. Would this guitar would handle upgrades like a new bridge floyd rose tremolo system or would I just be better off saving for a more expensive RRXMG. The reason I ask is it would be easier on the wallet to do upgrades a little at a time rather than shell out 700 plus dollars all at once. Also the tone on this does sound good.
I don't think you'll be happy with the result. I would assume that a proper installation of a Floyd would cost at least $400. You can get a Jackson JS Series Rhoads JS32 Electric Guitar (with Floyd from factory) for about $299.
@@BigHairyGuitars If there was a deluxe edition of the RR minion with better mechanics, pickups and wood, I'd gladly pay 700 or 800. But I'll never buy a guitar with a floyd rose again. Enough is enough. I have one guitar when I need to record some tremolo action, but that's about it.
+devin lowery hmmm. Probably, but i doubt it would be comfortable. The guitar is already a bit too heavy/neck heavy. With a full sized neck the guitar would feel really lopsided
Stuff are cheaper in the US than it is anywhere else on the planet. By the time guitars get to Australia we'd have to pay double to the price folks in the US would.
I'd go with the next size up. The small size can be frustrating compared to a full size guitar. There's SO many great mega inexpensive guitars, even the Jackons would be a good choice.
Would you recommend 10's or 11's for Eb tuning? Also, how tall are you? I'd like to get one of these, but I think I'd look ridiculous with how tiny it is.
I bought this guitar online for my son’s birthday. It is new, but it has a loose knob (volume or tone knob). How should I fix it? I do not have time to replace the guitar before his birthday... So I should find a way to fix it. Could someone please help me?
I don't think that a full size neck will fit. The guitar is already neck heavy, a full size neck would probably make it impossible to balance. Maybe a Jackson JS32 would be a better option.
I wanna learn to play guitar im thinking to buy this one but im little bit afraid because of the shortscale:( ?if someone have a experience of this guitar could you tell me how is to play on it?thank you!
It's short scale, so it's already pretty easy to bend. This tune was downtuned to D standard I think. It's pretty loose, but I was still using the 9 gauge strings. I think 10's down to D would be fine.
Hi, few questions to any one that can answer, how difficult it is to play on the higher frets?, i mean, how difficult it is to place your fingers on the higher frets since you have to place your thumb on the back were the guitar was bolt on, it is comfortable or not?, thank you
I find the fretboard very comfortable. The most difficult thing to get used to is the small size of the body. It's hard to rest it on your leg with balance.
Thank you for your answer!, what about the higher frets?, it is easy to play there?, im wondering because i have a regular RR Jackson and it is a little bit difficult to place my fingers there, since i have to place my thumb on the screws
Hmm. That has never bothered me. I do like that there's no horn from the body blocking my hand from getting high up there. If it bothers you on the RR Jackson, it'll still probably bother you on this too though.
İam 18 but i am not tall iam 1.69 high. And i think this size is better for me. İ play normal size. Jackson. For a 2 years. But this minion size look better What do you think. Am i right
Haahaahaha I am 3-something yeards old kid who wants to buy this one... not every guitar has to be red. I recommend getting the Jackson Glass Break Pink Strap for this one, the contrast will be maaaaaaaad awesome!
You made me to sell my Squier tele with duncan quarter pound pickups for this! :D Ofc in pink! \m/ I think im gonna use 9's, put my leopard pattern leggings and my torn shirt on, nipples out and play some Steel Panther when I get it!
Im a kid and im getting this guitar to play metalica

Good job, rock on.

I love this video, made me laugh and wish I got the green one.
They released them again and I just ordered the green one lol
I came across this video and was instantly sold, went to Guitarworks and bought one.
BEST PURCHASE EVER.
Rock on dude.
Stock they come with 9s so playing in c is hard. Slap on 10s or 11s and it's good to go.
I bought one of these (in green of course) back in November and it is so much fun! It's probably some of the best $150 that I've ever spent!
Steven i got one for 170$ twenty dollars lower 😮

I just bought one of these because of your review!
I just bought an orange Jackson Dinky Minion here in Thailand and I'm loving it. I still get excited thinking about it. So much fun!
You're a badass, dude. Keep being awesome
I like different colored guitars, I wish some of this colors were available on the more expensive guitars.

What is a dead fret?
Does it have a place to install whammy bar?

Hi michael ...i have a jackson js32T ...and it looks pretty much the same as the minion ...do you know if is a diference betwen them ...
