I'm just like you: I want to learn so many subjects and languages, know more about the topics I already know.
But my main issue is that I procrastinate a lot 😭 it's not a normal procrastination habit, it's something I do without even thinking 😭 and while I waste my time I don't think about it or I don't think about my goals. I wanna learn so much but I can't get rid of this damn habit 😫

    • @lewis8550
      @lewis8550 2 года назад +85

May just be hearsay but I think procrastination is caused by stress, maybe having so many goals for studying is actually stressing you out and causing you not to study, don't think about the goals, think about what you can do now and put all your effort into now! But whatever works best for you, I wish you luck!

Thought about ADHD? I just found out that ADHD was responsible for leading my life in a similar situation. Women are extremely underdiagnosed and in general and there is a lot of stigma around ADHD. It's really not all about concentration and hyperactivity. Even I just recently realized this at the age of 21 although I got my diagnosis at age 7. There are many emotional symptoms in ADHD which aren't commonly known. This also confused me all over my life. Please consider looking at the channel "How To ADHD". A lot of good information there.
I'm sure you will be doing great in the future! Keep on going you have already done the most important step with catching the spirit! :)

I’m learning Turkish by myself because a friend of mine lives in Turkey and I would like to visit her. I’ve started like a year ago and now I’m A2 (so the second level) without studying the grammar and the lexical structure: I just absorbed it by watching movies and tv series in Turkish, firstly with subtitles and now mostly without it. I obviously have conversation with turkish people like everyday and this helps me so much. I’m so proud of myself. 🥰

It's amazing how much positive energy a person can spread all over the world via the internet. I never experienced someone giving me so much power to just go on in life regardless of my current circumstances. Please keep on showing us how easy it can be to send some love to somebody. All you need is already in your mind. You just have to pay attention to it. And whenever you notice a positive aspect of something or someone, just intervene in old behavioral processes and begin to express those feelings by actually saying it. Let's make it a habit!
    Thank You, Jade!

Honestly, I've been self studying A Level Biology recently and I'm 28. I never went to sixth form when I was younger and only just recently have I really known what I've wanted to do as a career. From knowing this I discovered I need two A grade A levels in order to do the course for it at Uni so I'm having to teach myself and then do my exams as a private candidate. There's never a lot of people that are in my situation for whatever reason so I kind of feel like a fish out of water lol.

    1. Set your goals. Is it extrinsic or intrinsic?
    2. Find your resources. Mass
    3. Set up your framework and learning. Write out every single topic and time for it
    4. Time management and habit. It should be like routine. Have a concrete implementation intention: when where and what you have to do.
    5. The first step to learning is understanding. Absorb and understand the concepts. Spaced repetition is the way to go. Going over the same thing in regular intervals. Test yourself actively.
    6. Practice questions and teach others.
    7. Celebrate your success.

I also live in Berlin and enjoy moments like that in Tempelhoferfeld, i call them Berlin encounters. Good times! I have been an English teacher for the last 9 years and have a passion for psychology, neuroscience, habits and learning. In fact learner German was the most difficult thing for me to do that i have ever done, it was so difficult in fact i took an old whiteboard from a school i worked at and put it in my room and broke down the problem, tracked it, wrote little motivational or inspurational quotes on it, worked on my habits ect. Really this process taught me how to learn something and i very much connected with using a white board. I think it has great advantages becuase it is both transient and intransient, for example when you write something on it, it stays there but you can always rub it off. Also i like the fact that you have to think about the data you want to collect first before drawing a little table or something and very importantly you cannot hide from your whiteboard, it is too big and you can't close it like a book, What do you think about whiteboards for self learning and self improvment?

I'm a homeschool student and even though I already had say in what and how I learn, as my Highschool years fly I'm starting to want to indulge in the freedom of self teaching and I've been really wanting to double down and really *learn* those topics, especially the things I find interest in. However, even though I dislike curriculums most of the time they offer a structure and a guide to a topic that I havent learned yet, It's long and sometimes confusing to find the information without a book filled with it all, so I decided its time to figure out how to do it myself effectively, and this video really helps root the concept in the brain! It's funny too because philosophy is the main topic I plan to learn and you used that as your example.

I love learning on my own myself as well. Some people like school. Personally I'm not one of those people lol. School encourages learning mostly through fear for a lot of young people. Fear of failure and loss of money. If it wasn't for this fear based motivation I know many people would never touch much of the material. They're only interested in a narrow few subtopics of a field of knowledge not the entirety. Self learning usually requires a genuine interest in the subject itself not for credentials or employment prospects. Only that level of passion will motivate you to commit to study. I think this is why school is a better option for most people but not everyone.

hi Jade) can i ask you for advice? how to choose a college or a direction of study, if you want to learn everything but do not know what to do in general in life? I like pharmacy and at the same time philosophy and history and also geology
now I am last year at a teacher training college and I understand for sure that I cannot work in my profession, so it was a bad choice
I'm just afraid to choose the wrong one again
thanks for your videos, they are very supportive and motivating🧡🧡

I really love you sis, we have the same mindset , I indeed wanted to learn a lot of things and that's really amazing right ? Tbh whenever I am asking my friends whose really good in math for example they would just give me the answer sheet and I don't get it , that is why I never cheated since I was in grade 10 because I wanted to learn to get the answer . I wanted to know how to solve it . It's just that you can give me the answer right away but it's different to me, I want to te taught well . Thank you this is really motivating me to move forward .

    如何自学?
    1、有一个非常具体的目标
    Leading you on the road
