  • I found the way to fix yaesu ft-857 or ft-897 zebra issue.
    1. Disassemble head unit
    2. Turn the LCD upside down
    3, You can see the boundary between the LCD and the IC board.
    4. Press the joint well and fix it.
    5. Done!!
    Good Luck!

    Other say this fix is only temporary. Unfortunately Yaesu part/control head are on backorder. I may give this a try anyway...no heat gun/resoldering required? Bill WT9L

    In my case it didnt help. I had to buy brand new control panel... I think you had just good luck and after temperature changes you will get zebra issue again.

    Only clean with cotton?

    • @egoya
      @egoya  Год назад +3

      No, I didn't clean up. I re-sealed the joint with a cotton. It is more effective to heat it with a soldering iron using aluminum foil.

      @@egoya Do you use something additional chemical/glue to re-sealed it ? or just cleaned it with cotton buds? - can I use a super glue or something else?

    • @egoya

      @@aimzein7326 Never use chemical/glue. Heating with a soldering iron using aluminum foil is more effective. First, put aluminum foil on top of the film. Then heat the foil with a soldering iron.

      @@aimzein7326 Please refer to it. I used foil instead of silicon. p1repair.com/blog/2013/05/30/lcd-repair-missing-lines/
