- A quick update on the repairing process of this YAESU FT-857D.
The first visual inspection revealed so many odd things over it. Here you can see a show of some pictures taken with my Iphone through my AMSCOPE microscope at 10x.

Hi I commented on your other 847 video. If you end up making another 857 video, can you quickly take a video of how the tuning knob assembly should look. I'm not sure where the coil spring is supposed to sit. When I took mine apart, the coil was partially wrapped around the brass screw/post. Not sure where it was supposed to be. Thanks.

I would just remove all those parts first clean the board and slowly rebuild it.. only way ... might still be saved shocking so called techs.
