The main selling point is the software available on the 4000 series which does booster FPS about 15-20% over their 3000 series counter parts. The only problem is few games support it and few games coming out in the next few years have confirmed they will support it. In other words, skip the 4000 series.
Yeah…the only people in which the 4000 series cards make sense for is those who only play triple AAA titles or games which are crazily designed and how they are optimized to only work with DLSS 3 and Frame Generation. For those who actually play other games besides Triple AAA titles have no benefit unless they want to turn in all of their life castings for a 4080 or 4090…
@itachisaskubelieve me, I would max out my graphics if I could but unfortunately I just don’t have the money for it as gaming isn’t a main priority of mine. Realistically though like you said, $2K isn’t much in the bigger aspect of things.
@itachisaskunice. I have a 4070 laptop and while it doesn’t crazy FPS in some games, in most games it’ll get absolutely enough frames for me. Coming from a gtx 1080, 2x performance is pretty good I’d say.

Its basically a 4070 desktop level performance. $1000 used to be for a xx60 class gpu that could max out 1080p and do 1440p quite decently. Now? The 4060 barely does 1080p in new games. 4070 struggles with 1440p.

I am considering buying myself a new laptop. Rn I am stuck at a choice between asus scar 15 (2022) with rtx 3070 ti and asus strix g16 with rtx 4070. Both cost relatively the same on amazon. The g16 has design advantages like better screen and better cooling system. Thus, I might go with it, because I need laptop for my college studies as well.
Did you get it? If you haven't bought it, definitely pay attention to the wattage of the graphics card. It should be 3070 150w or 4070 140w.

The RAW performance of both GPU is almost similiar altough RTX 3070 Ti leading with few FPS margins. The only feature that future proof from RTX 4000 series is dlss frame generation which become main selling point'.

Most of them hist 115 watts. There just isn't much of an improvement past 100watts because of voltage caps.

Well, the prices of laptops around me are way cheaper for a 4070 equipped laptop than a 3070ti. For a budget and longevity solution, the 4070 is perfect.
It isn't an issue of 4070, more of Rog 18.

Hmmm, less power consumption with same performance. I think this is argument if you choose new laptop, because you'll take more performance using type c power deliwery. But this isn't good idea to upgrade 3070ti to 4070.
The gtx 1070 was over 2x faster than the gtx 970m, and demanded just a 15% power increase. It was still 2x faster than the 970m at just 90w in the 1070 max q. That was when nvidia had a giant node shrink like it does now. Mind you, it boosted the vram by over 2x and gave you all that at the same price. Zero to minimal price hikes.
So my point is, efficiency is not the only argument.
And, even the 2070 mobile, was a good 30% faster than the 1070 mobile at the same power draw. That was when nvidia didn't have a good node shrink.
nope, because budget 4070 laptops with worse cooling still cost more than well-cooled 3070 ti laptops. And 40 series still doesn't allow you to game on battery so there is no point in this.

It depends on the laptop you get. Something called a vbios pre-installed by the manufacturer limits the power going into the graphics card even though it can handle more power. This is done to ensure that the laptop runs smoothly and does not overheat. To counter this there are two things you can do: 1.) Overclock your GPU using a software like MSI Afterburner. 2.) Find another vbios online for a similar laptop to yours that can take in more power. They both have a risk of voiding any warranty you may have with the laptop and possibly damaging your components, so use at your own risk.
Yeah the brute force of the 40 series is almosthe same of the 30 series. But is more efficient. Use less power and less temperature. Also have more ia processors which makes viable the use of DLSS 3.0 a frame booster that makes a HUGE difference.
Someone knows how to change Watts GPU? my 3070ti lapt goes at 120W many times, sometimes 125 to 130 and once got 140W randomly without touching anything, didn't crash game or nothing. I got very good Temps for the graphic and wanna the extra fps and performance, RDR2 goes at 60fps average can get down to 47 or up 70 so the extra would be cool I would thank the info so much i can't find it anywhere well didn't asked chat gpt yet xD

4050,4060 and 4070 have this voltage limit problem , they very rarely hit 140w because most of the time the limit hits when the gpu is near 100w

@@Samdevay you can get a 3070ti for about $1500 these days but If you don't mind spending your full budget then a 4070 laptop is better than a 3070ti laptop. Do keep in mind that at that price you can find a 4080 laptop if you know where to look. Lenovo regularly discounts their new leigon 7i line, so keep your eyes on it.

Можно было бы согласится, если вся серия новых видах имела бы такие показатели, но ноутбучная 4050 и без всяких технологий выше на голову 3050, а в свою очередь 4080 лучше 3080ti. И вот с маркетинговой точки зрения это провально, ведь покупатель, ознакамливаясь со всей новой линейкой , видит ее явное превосходство над предыдущей, но те кто рассматривает ценовой сегмент ноутбуков на 4070, явно не почувствуют то преимущество от покупки новой модели. Соответственно тут либо нужно докладывать 700 долларов за ноутбук на 4080 , либо в более бюджетный сегмент переходить на 4060. Не отказываться же от возможностей от новых технологий, приобретая ноутбук на более старой серии (да ещё и по плюс минус той же цене)

People please. 4070 is way more efficient. Consumes 15% less power avg.
Avg gamer always compromises on chassis/thermal design. So in the end, 4070 will be better even without frame gen because it will thermal throttle in a common scenario. And thus will outperform 3070Ti anyday.
So if both are available at similar prices, def go for 4070. Also FG is pretty good too. I am not NVIDIA's side or anything. I genuinely hate them for 40 series.

Yeah i was literally wondering the same, my 4060 140w in the omen is literally better than this 4070. The 3070ti currently trades blows depending on the game and scenario, a lot of comparison videos have shown this, with framegen and dlss3 its an overall better choice for someone who has a pre 16xx gpu laptop.

The 4070M has 8GB of GDDR6 memory clocked at 16 GHz are supplied, and together with 128 Bit memory interface this creates a bandwidth of 256.0 GB/s. The only thing 4070 and 4070m have in common is the name.

4070 similar to 3070ti this disregards frame gen also disregards the fact they I found a 4070 laptop for $980 while the 3070 TI (ti not regular 3070 btw) is the lowest at $1030 🫡

Um, All TI edition's perform like that; TI edition are factory overclocked and built with better vram which is why they cost the same as the newer generation non TI edition. Just overclock manually the 4070 and it will perform better than the TI.

If you put DLSS3 and Frame Generation then the 4070 gets at least a 10fps boost. Otherwise the old 3000 series still holds its own.

That would be more than 10 fps but also you'll get imput lag which completly nulifies fps gain in some games :D

@@deepxe9472 3070ti here. I've tried dlss in some games and it depends on particular title but in fps you can feel that small delay. It may be different with 4000 series but it all depends. Haven't tried it yet
Seems to be the 3070 ti is holding its max power all the time compared to the 4070 that dips up and down a lot.

@@Samdevay Just buy an aorus 5. Has a 4k OLED, 150w rtx 3070ti and i7 12700h. Should be like $1700 or something. You ain't finding a better display than a 4k OLED at this price point with those specs.
Rtx 4050, 4060, 4070 are voltage limited due to which they never go beyond 100-120W

Esto era obvio, la 4070 laptop tiene menos bus de memoria (128 bits vs 256 bis de la 3070 ti) y menos núcleos CUDA que la 3070 ti laptop, voy a tener que esperar a que Nvidia saque el modelo de la 4070 ti laptop.
Agrego que la 4070 hubiera valido la pena con 10 gb de Vram, aunque fuera un poco menos potente o igual que la 3070 ti

In another review, the rtx 4070 with increased wattage was even worse for some reason. We just have to accept that until now this card is a complete failure with absolutely no reason of existence.
@@TheZjumpers People refuse to activate DLSS 3 for some reason, thats like half the reason the 4000 exists, turn it on and it destroys almost every other 3000 card.

4070 laptop is worse than i thought but 4070 desktop is pretty good it is better than 3080 in many games and 4070ti is also equivalent to 3090 and Nvidia can make 4070 laptop like 4090 laptop a laptop can beat 3090ti ❤amazing
In the real world though laptops with a 4070 are the same price or even cheaper than a 3070ti, they consume less power and have DLSS frame gen

The bottom of the laptop should be open. You can use a laptop riser or laptop cooler. I was having the same problem with the 3070ti 150w. After using the laptop riser, my graphics card temperatures dropped to 75 degrees.
Sir can yours tell if open DLSS3 ,the gap will be wider since 3070ti only can use DLss 2 ,but dlss 3 say more new tech so fps is higher lot thank you

Strange that 3070ti and 4070 laptops are in a similar price range where I live. 4080 laptops are thousands more expensive so the 4070 seems appealing.

To be honest , those temps are not possible in such powerfull laptop with 140w GPU !!! and how about this CPU, come on ....
