  • These are my experiences with infrared photography. Check out the whole video to see how I used it for street photography!
I started with an unconverted Pentax MX-1, then converted my K-01, and later sold that and got a full spectrum converted Fujifilm X-A2.
The Snappiness video about my old K-01 is here: • Great Idea, Difficult ...

Great video and pictures! The infrared flash is a super cool idea and I love the results. It's like you completely remove the stuff that helps you recognize the time and place. Very interesting.

incredible stuff. thank you for this

Wow, this is fantastic! The color separation you get with that flash in the street photos turned out wonderfully! I'm gonna have to try that flash trick sometime

It's rare to talk about electro magnetic radiation in the silicon domain as frequencies, wavelengths in nm are most common. That's also what the filters are dominated at. And it's an inverse relationship where higher frequencies are shorter wavelengths.
I haven't seen a variable IR filter, which seems like an interesting concept for hyperspectral images. Do you got a reference for what you mean specifically?
As for using "artificial" infrared light, you should see 820nm lights being used for motion detection, face unlocks, self driving cars... So there is 'invisible' sources of light all around the city.
Have you ever had the chance to see wavelengths much longer? Perhaps 8-12μm, it's not comparable.

Hmmm this may inspire me to do an infrared conversion on one of my cameras soon.. lovely work especially the landscape and architectural stuff!

Thanks! Definitely a worthwhile thing to do, it gives you a chance to make landscape photos when the sun is up in the sky...
